I like the idea of a Custom Map Club. Inorder for everyone to download the same maps , what we need is a community mappack with one single installer and a single definitive place to download this mappack. Atm , the official map place is a bit disorganised. If I download a map there and host it online , how many others online will have had looked on page 23 2nd row , and downloaded the same map inorder to join my game, How many people can I convince to goto page 23 2nd row and d

I call for the In-game hours played stat , with rank badges that reflect how many hours you have played. In an instant you solve many problems... Firstly , someone who is losing might aswell stay in the game and fight to the death because he is still building up his rank. Secondly , insta-wins will become pointless Thirdly , all those re-host games wont build up your stats , like they are falsely doing now.

Removing the Quit Button just creates more problems and doesnt really solve any of the underlying problems of quitting. The problems it creates is that there are valid reasons why someone needs to quit a game. Its unfair if someone wants to save and continue a game another day. Everyone has to quit. Should they get a loss everytime they want a game to be saved for another day. The better solution would be to remove the win/loss stats , and make Rank Base on In-Game time spent.

I was really Lucky I got a 486 boxed with Day of the Tentacle and Indiana Jones Fate of Atlantis . Little did I know I was about to embark on two of the worlds greatest PC games of all time.

Its actually not true. The 114 players online means everyone whos online , waiting in the lobby or ingame. So potentially you could have 113 players inside game , and you will be on your lonesome in the lobby thinking where the hell is everyone. 114 is actually ALOT of players. Id be over the moon to have seen that number of players in Homeworld 2 online , and I was playing that game for years with only 40-50 players online MAX, AT PEAK TIME. Kinda figures why I dont take Sins
I'm not sure if you've played online, but players have largely jumped offline because the online game takes too long to get spun up in the larger galaxies. Its great for friends who play long games together but just strangers, forget about it. The online game also has boiled down to a few distinct strategies, of two or three key units which match up and over counter the others. With more unit variety there would be improved gameplay. For the most part its just LRM's versus FLAK. Every oth
As a custom map maker, I just wanted to chime in to add my support for patching the game to allow auto-downloads. The map files and the .tga files (the title-picture boxes you see in the game setup screen) are very small and should easily and quickly transfer between hosts and players for this game (unlike much larger and sometimes gargantuan first person shooter maps).
Yea totally agree. As a custom map maker myself , I find it difficult to convince people to download cu

@OP , for the novalith , most tend to manually cast it , simply because the picking of a target is such an important event , they like to be the one who presses the button. So I doubt many are going to bother with this complaint.
I agree, to a point. Not that I was misled, but that I would like to see more done with the non-combat side of the game. We all have improvments we want to see, I think that diplomacy, trade, etc. is one of the weakest aspects of the game, and therfore could use some attention in future patches and expansions. That being said, I have seen amazing improvments in some games, thru the use of patches and exp. to the point of adding an entire new level of gameplay. (Crafting in D2 changed ever
Agreed. But it didn't stop BioShock from being enormously successful. There are succesfull single player games. But RTS Players expect RTS games to have multiplayer or just ignore it.So in this case, it will correlate in higher sales, because the question "is there multiplayer?" is easier to answer to(yes/no) than "how deep is the singleplayer mode?" (pure perception). Also getting more depth in a game requires the whole game concept to be reworked(which can even go wrong, see MoO3). While

If you did a little bit more research would have found that the 1.05 patch which fixes minidumps is out on tuesday.

LOL yea , but he is spot on tho. I would like to see a move towards a more 4x style game maybe in Sins 2 , but not because I hate RTS ,on the contrary I love RTS, but there are other games to suit my RTS needs.
Actually that is exactly the reason why I will not preorder Demigod. Seeing the really medicore multiplayer support SD/IC offer for Sins I do not have the confidence to pre-order a game that I will only ever play in multplayer and which will be totally ruined without very, very good game balance.
So because Ironclad supposedly cant balance for Sinsofasolarempire , your not going to buy a game developed and balanced by Gas powered games. Funny. edit:

Although I think Sins 1 has been great in the way its managed to cater for both multiplayer and singleplayer , I cant help but think that catering for multiplayer has severely limited the depth of the singleplayer expierence. Now what if Sins 2 had more depth to singleplayer. What would happen is that the game-time would be lengthened and probably slowed down inorder for players to manage the new depth. This would mean games lasting 20 hours. This will however make

I think the most important jist is "game-time" People complain about the game being soo long. Well why not reward game-time. A small rank symbol next to a players name goes a long way. Logically , rewarding game-time means people are willing to stay in-game even if they are losing.Having no "loss" rating also removes the fear of loss stats. I think keeping the wins record is ok. Just ditch the loss record. 0 Hours : Newbie - Newbie badge 1 Hours : Ensi

The way I see buildings health. You have 4000 hitpoints but no mitigation + very fast regeneration + v heavy class modifier A cobalt has 600 hitpoints + 300 shield points + mitigation + slow regeneration + medium class modifier So I would say a building is about as tough as 4-5 Cobalts...approx.
Game is not dead - it is hibernating...I will say the same thing that i already said dozen or so times since the release...If you want healthy MP online community in Sins with current MP options this is simply not possible...Following things are needed at very least:1. Clan support (via various ladders)2. Claning initiative (via various, cups, competitions, leagues etc...)3. Competitive MP game mode (something where round lasts no longer than 30 or so minutes)Above 3 points is bare minimu

Ok the Problem with the vast majority , is that if someone in your team belongs to the minority and does crash , then you get effected just the same. Everyone is finding problems with minidumps, However the vast majority online are patient , and are eagerly awaiting the fix. Im sure the fix is very hard to make and I bet theres more then one bug causing the minidumps so im sure you want to nail all of them together rather then release a fix that only fixes half the problems. Just a few ideas that will improve ICO and the online community. All suggestions are inspired by what goes on in TA spring - A very sustainable community that does not rely on "competitive play" , but on "addictive play". I see sins in the same way. This would be great to come with 1.1 and the summer holidays. 1) Have game-time be a statistic in your player profile. I.e Player - 40 Games , 23 hours 40 mins. This is an important statistic as it will disregard t
