Look if all the asteroids/planets were connected the game would completely suck. The only real defensive strategy would be shield generators surrounded by gauss and repair stations. To have an enemy come at all directions at any time would anger the S*** outta me. And who needs their ships to jump 10 planets/asteroids? If you're a responsible fleet commander you'd multitask with reinforcements trickling in while your main fleet stays close to your next objective. Inert, light frigates

kudos, cheif
yeah, i struggle with quotes, okay? don't judge me.
I've actually never built a single hoshiko. I hate celio's (they don't give the bonuses I need) and frigates are a thing of the past (excluding seige, scout, and colnizers). I should use hoskiko's though. I just think you can get over your head if you mix up your armada TOO much. I only go in with the best upgrades I can offer my ships. Who goes in with waste ships like light friagates and gardaks? I can't stand loosing ships. it makes me depressed <img src="http://images.stardock.co
no, don't make us asplode! somebody gots good grammer... Also, did anyone notice the dust rings around any desert planets like mine had? Is that some sort of auto update because that was neat. They even made the stars have a glowing aura. I'm pretty sure last time I played it was just a bright, but boring star.
hey it auto corrected my quote box.... silly me. Ron, when do you joke?
so H button and scuttle button... and this will destroy already built structures, right?
Sorry to interrupt these interesting posts with a stupid question. Can you destroy already made structures? Because i'm sitting here like an idiot highlighting my research station and pressing the delete button. I feel like my other hand should be sucking my thumb
Aright to wrap up my post and give myself an ounce of acknowledgement i meant the big mother ships are NOT for the TEC. They don't deserve it. Im talking the other races. The TEC armada cannot supply a mega-ship. If you look at their backround most of their ships were just converted into war machines. Their capitol ships are whimpy (at least, most of them) but they are capitol ships nonetheless. Don't give them an upgraded version of themselves. You'll e'm feel bad <img src="http://images.stard
BTW he suggested that we add a religious aspect to the game... ya know planets defecting due to religion. Mutinys on ships ect... Now thats dangerous thinking, mjl. Best stick to never ending galciv 2 games... thats it... sleep.... Oh damit I'm quoting myself! help me out of this gray box! Augh!
Also save lordkosc for beta 3 multiplayer. You can kick his ass up a wall (or a tree for sqrls) AND THEN tell him about strategy. I love how this post started with proper etiquette.
I've seen squirrely in a lot of my posts and replies too. The man is vicious. You don't want to be at the same dinner table with him. Also (i know this reply is kind of delayed) I didn't mean that people shouldn't be sharing strategies. I'm saying the rats (i just saw the departed teehee) that use the same crap and making the game boring. I don't think their is much strategy in this game at all and before you post the crap out of me I can explain myself. Every round is n
hell yeah can't wait for the expansion to come out.
Look ta erog we are still deciding over what dimension we are in (some say there are around 13) so to rule out any sci-fi theory is impossible. That's the whole thing about sci-fi, its just theories from anyone coming to life. It may be in books or cinimatography, at one point in time, it was just an idea from some guy. But I will agree that you cannot comfirm or deny it. And just because the wormholes idea is overused or "cliche" dosen't mean that its just a stupid idea.
Hi. Ironclad made a great job of adding anomolies and random stuff in space that makes the game more realistic. But somethings that they reeeally need are ice clouds, mining clouds, and wormholes (i'm talking random ones that are like in a sci-fi show that can fit a spaceship but glow like a vortex). Ice clouds can be in between wormholes or even have its own sector. I picture it dark and blue, with shards of ice randomly placed and occaisional lightning scattering around making an eeri
I think the economic loyalty boost is a bad idea. Just because they pay a lotta taxes dosen't mean that they are more loyal. They're just either highly populated (which would give you the complete opposite affect) or they're just... generous. The jobs thing dosen't seem too important to make people happy, either. I love the solar system bonus. That is a good idea (danielost kind of muttered it). OR you could invest some money into a planet (kind of like increasing the law info
Oh c'mon be original and make your own strategies. If your forced to copy other peoples ideas maybe you should stick to big galaxies and hide in a corner.
Nonono eetmorsqrls they should all have equal espionage power. Not that it would make the game fair, but it just isin't a crucial part of the game. The only thing I want to know about my enemy is ship movements and MAYBE resource count and credits. They already covered recon well. What else is there? Amount of mouse clicks per game? I rarely use bounty and thats probably why I'm biast against espionage but I do love it when every time you blow up a gauss turret thats 500 credits in your
lol nice eet. The sad reality to that is once you look at a clock (i have one near my computer) it makes you think, "wow, i play waay too much. I'm depressed." Ironclad does not want you depressed. They want you as happy as can be (so they can get you to buy the expansions).
stupid, flaming katanas are for the advent! sheesh
...i thought i was staying on topic... *sniffle*
eetmorsqrls, I meant that when you colonize a neutral planet (the ones that haven't been railed where the sun don't shine). Ohh, I see Advalary. But are you counting the governing officials and the disastor relief guys as population?
Expansions, maybe?
Heheh, actually i never heard one soundtrack from the game. I turned off music and played my own songs (i do that with every game). It was the first thing I did becuase Interpol came out with a new CD.
Yeah, I understand them just sending down a government, but why the hell does it start at zero? I'm not complaining and they have a good system right now but for the sake of curiosity, If they already live there, why are they not marked as population? Maybe their slooowly collecting population data on the planet... who knows. Advalary, i'm having trouble deciphering what you mean about the ice and volcanic planets. It seems like your comment would make more sense to it, and i'd love it
