laaame. I hate crystal extracters. They feel so... unreliable. Im trying to put 1 trade center and 1 refinery in all my sectors and maybe stack em on a desert.
deathstrandingiscool
I wanted ice to have high logistics because i can't ever find those damn desert planets. Also, ice and lava planets have near the same pop cap. That does not make sense at all. A planet that you can walk on beats a planet that you don't even THINK about going outside!
The backrounds of space literally leave my mouth hanging open. I have a customized dell computer that in my opinion is extremely powerful (medeival total war 2 never lags ) and having this game on maximum graphics (and loading a large galaxy in 15 seconds) makes every detail stunning. Please expand on the types of backrounds (as in the orange hue galaxy or the blue mist with a white rift) because you've
Yeah im a total war fan and right when you hear that "CLANK" sound of sending a unit to charge tells you "yo, some shit is about to go down." I think they shound have a mix of mystical kind of music (because of the awesome views you see when you zoom out) but have kind of MechWarrier music (drums, base, trumpets, kind of a jumpy attitude) occaisionally for battles or just to keep you on your toes. I hope it ain't like starcraft with wierd ass instruments or disgusting zerg sounds.
Actually, its funny that you mention that because when i saw how they ranked population i cracked up. BUT then i looked at it from their point of view and it made mroe sense. If you make it 8 billion or 9 billion for a terran it sounds good. But an ice planet, having about 1/4 population of a fully upgraded terran planet, should have about 2 billion, right? Well then i don't see how only 2 billion people can live on an ice planet. Just because its cold dosen't mean you can't grow enough
Yeah, that scroll bar on the side that looks like its stright out of windows 2000 does not help. They should add a tab opening and closing unexplored galaxies because in the begining in one of my games i had about 6 planets but 4 unexplored galaxies and i had to use the damn scroll bar each time i ordered my fleets into squads. Also, just a question i forgot the answer to... what kind of special ability does the ice planet have? because i can't find the difference between a lava planet
The problem with realistic planet locations is the players go for the unexplored regions near the sun and it dosen't make the game fun. They tried it in beta 1 and it didn't work.
Yeah, your right about pretty much everything, Rognann. at the time i wrote this thread (1 week ago i just got back from a vacation about 2 hours ago) i was all worked up about how people just post random crap that covers very little ideas so i tried to mingle all my hot topics into one and have a moving discussion. I'm going to try and get back into the loop of feedback in the game and of course, play much more of the suprisingly addictive beta game.
Oh, and to sbaer's last comment. That's what im having trouble with. The 90% water. It can't just stop there. Hundreds of possibilities could spring up like, percipitaion, elevation, atmosphere, gravity, denisty, mass (well we already got that one), precious metals, methane lakes (i dunno, like on titan), jungle (Oooh, a jungle planet!!! thats even better than my swamp one... sry i was in a post talking about new types of planets), wind speeds, etc. If you have just percentage of water
actually im pretty pleased with the controls. Keep in mind that they have to have 3 easy to use axis that you can focus in on sectors while making everything 2d. I just zoom out to find a planet i want to look at then double click on it OR go to my planet list (i usually ignore my conquered systems cuz well, ther boring) and double click on one. The thing im ticked off about is exactly what your saying about fleet management. They need to make a feature so that in your ship list on the
craig you work for ironclad? cuz if you do, high five
ok raise of hands how many of you want space ponies? ok... ok.... get out
Yeah in Freelancer each galaxy had a different color scheme, from a massive green rift to auras of blue. The game is a must have for space game lovers. Anyone would like it.
wow. I'm looking through the list and it's great that they encourage modding on this game. I used to mod the battlefield 2142 maps and such and had a hard time working on that. You screw one thing up (from texture spots to hovering buildings) and it crashes on you.
I wonder how much member's this forum has im really interested if this game could really be a huge hit. It has the potential its just the question wether or not marketing will go smoothly...
Yeah in my fleet I use a combination of kodiaks, fighter carriers and capitol ships (I know I should use those repair bot ships but... well f*** em they look funny). Oook so there won't be any orbiting. I was having an interesting conversation with a guy who had great ideas about orbiting gravity wells and wormhole shifting and we eventually thought of some strategies for our scenario (see Environment thoughts... and ramblings... the guy had good ideas). Well, sin
This was all typed right after thetravelier's comments. Lol I remember trying to find what I said on my previous quote because the topic turned up in my post. Although I've never played command and conquer (im a battlefield 2142 fan) i'm looking at the game right now... wow it looks pretty fun... anyways I see what your getting at. RTS's are capable of close proximity capture points (like in the warhammer 40k series and Company of Heroes), but Sins is not (remembe
lol niiice. That would be a good idea. A moon option. Damn. Right off the bat there is problems. If it orbits, how could you protect it? you'd have to designate shield generators as well as ones for the planet and then fortify those... Heheh maybe even put some weapons platforms on the surface. I dunno maybe there just should be moons that you can equip that aren't colonizable.
People seem to like that idea of multiple colonizable moons and planets in 1 gravity well. It has tons of pros but one big con: splitting it in 2 like a battlefield. It would be tremendously fun but it will eventually lead to 3 things: a stalemate of just small waves of wasted ships, an extremely cramped sector, or a massive (and boring) gravity well of space gaps and slow moving ships. Just passing through the well would take a while. Not to mention trade and refinary ships. Talk about space tr
I'm not exactly understanding your question... Are you saying how do they set the speed and turning rate of the vessels? Because that's just guess and check, seeing if it looks real or not.
Yeah, they did individual characteristics of each planet in Star Wars: Empire at War. The problem with all those ideas for shaping a planet is what could it affect, really? I mean, there are no ground buildings like galciv 2, there is just space construction, and deciding wether it rains or has rocky terrain can get a little too complicated. But, planet size could be neat. The larger the planet, the larger the gravitational ring or even more logistics and tactical slots. I just think g
You can only win if you destroy their capitol ships if you put it in that mode. Start a new game with a bigger galaxy, you can't possibly be bored yet
Hi. I consider myself to be a big 4E genre player. I play them for considerable amounts of time and I think i got a fair taste of what its all about. What i'm struggling with is what they are screwing up that past games already screwed up on in the first place! 1. Everything is stationary. Every 4E game i've played kept the planets and stars in the same place. Now i'm not asking for much, I just want each planet and asteroid to orbit. I know that if they are at different speeds it
You are invisioning several thing that have been used in past space games. Star Wars: Empire at War uses gas giants, but you cannot build on the surface and only can make starports. Galactic Civilizations 2 has clusters of 1 to 5 planets orbiting solar systems scattered throughout the galaxy. You can even be terran and have Mars, Mercury, Earth, and Venus all floating around. You can colonize Mars, too. The problems with dividing a sector with several colonizable plane
