I may be wrong, and if I am someone will surely say so, but I think the desire to put new icons in the top left available space is deeply programmed into Windows. I mean, I know of no way to change it. Maybe you could put something more permanent there, just as a placeholder. Then when new icons are placed they will probably be below that slot filler.

I know one way, kind of. I tried this with an Edit Box (and some other ActiveX stuff...see this screenie: HoloMP3 ) . I think it'll work with other DX controls. What you need is a parent object, which you'll usually have. Say a background graphic or something. Then set the parent of the DXControl as that background. Personally I like dA a lot. It is a shame I have lost faith in its leadership, though. But, I paid already and am subscribed, so I use it for the time being. It is good as another outlet and group of people to see and potentially comment on your work. There are some great icon artists on dA, and sometimes you can find some pretty weird skins for obscure apps. I say check it out, bash, at least the free service. Ggive
I'd bet you could script in a locking feature for widgets, but I've never tried. Perhaps have PosX and PosY stored, and Sub Object.OnLButtonUp(x,y,drag). If drag = True, then restore position Object.Right = PosX, Object.Top = PosY. of course that would really lock it. You'd need to add some method of moving it (changing PosX & PosY) and that'd add a couple other checks, but I think it's doable. Not very convenient or elegant, though, and

Site is looking very nice, and working well. I'm looking forward to more gadgets. I'm curious about what type of posts will go in the Authoring forum section. Should they be strictly related to gadgets and gadget specific issues, or more general DesktopX and scripting related? All in all looks fantastic, can't wait to see what DesktopGadgets.com develops into.
I have found that changing then re-changing the screen resolution can sometimes whack things into the right order. It's the only thing I've found that will get the cursour back on top of everything without rebooting. But, after doing this I usually have to unload and restart ObjectDock, because it's drawing icons behind backgrounds.
I can't be sure, but there are a couple things I wonder about. First, these are really "States" not "Action Settings". So, we have the different states, and with each we can define an image, and some animation setting, etc., and a sound (if you want). Next, I am unclear what you mean by "Default". Typically the default state will be the Mouse Away. An object really won't know what "default" means other than Mouse Away. This is reflected

There are so many ways to change wallpaper, Property -> Desktop, Right Click on File, Firefox or MSIE, or Desktop X for that matter. I'm not sure, but I'd bet it'd be hard to monitor them all for changing the wall(wallpapers applied with Firefox for example, are always called Fiefox Wallpaper in Properties ->Desktop) . If you built in a wallpaper changer object into your dock, and used only it to change walls, you could make sure it reset

This is going to be sweet; really looking forward to checking out the site and gadgets. I am curious if it will have a forum dedicated to gadget creation and creators. Despite the above, mostly accurate, description, making gadgets is not as simple as making DX Objects or Widgets. At least that has been my experience. A support community for gadget specific topics would be a "good thing".

Like Bichur, I've never had my WindowBlinds deleted (on the contrary, deleting a blind via the Advanced Windowblind Configuration dialog still leaves the files intact), although I did lose a lot of work when I upgraded to DesktopX Pro and the uninstall/reinstall process removed the default storage folders (now I store DX projects far away from the DX folder). And, I have to say I feel your pain with ObjectBar. I would love to use this more

I wish I could remember who told me this, as I use it all the time now and would like to thank them. In any case I can pay it forward. If you use WindowBlinds and have SkinStudio, even the free version, you can change a setting, but you have to do it for each blind you want to use. Select the blind in the Windowblinds Advanced Configuration screen and then click Edit in SkinStudio. In the SkinStudio window, on the left, click Window B
