Frogboy- Why even put the distinction between Fallen and Kingdoms to begin with? It would simplify the game a LOT to remove these.
I'm pretty sure that kingdoms and empires are already too established in the lore(remember there's a book in production) to remove them. And I personally don't think it's all that complicated. You're one race that generally aligns with a certain side. Though there are a few distinct races/species,
Let's face it, as soon as you get tired of playing the game and you know how all the factions play out you're going to put away the game and move on. You aren't going to learn how to write computer code just so you can make a new enemy or two. If it's built into the game already it's a Lot Easier to do.
I disagree. I played GalCiv2, and still do sometimes, using the normal races. They act the same from game to game(as they should since they're supposed to have unique pe
Please do not shy away from including lots and lots of Elemental lore. I would be very disappointed if you guys have thought up all this lore to simply not include it in the game because some people might be confused. The uniqueness of the story in Elemental(IE not using the stale orcs, elves, ect) is one of the main reasons I'm so interested in the game. Please make each faction detailed and immersive so it really feels like you're playing a different people and not the same faction with som
Basically agree with pigeonpigeon. Though I think it's good to limit max number of a building type in smaller cities to encourage growth, I think larger cities should definitely be able to build as much of whatever they want. There maybe some efficiency reduction or something for going beyond a certain number, but I do cringe at the situation where I can't build more banks or barracks despite really needing it simply because I'm at the max number for the city.
Also... purposefully nerfing the user interface (the way the hotkeys work while macro'ing) to make it more difficult to use, supposedly to inject more "skill" into the game? I actually find that infuriating - to the point that I won't buy the game if they keep it that way. Do people out there really support that? Your thoughts? Hotkeys as a Terran is a pain. I need a hot key for my command ce
Queen speed off-creep was nerfed because of some pretty bad cheese involving the use of 1 or more queens with creep tumor, a canceled hatchery, and spine crawlers. From an interview posted on TeamLiquid, Protoss is still winning roughly 55% of the time, while Terran and Zerg are within 1-2% of even, prompting the continued Protoss nerfs. Immortals have been a topic of discussion for some time now so I wasn't surprised to see them get hit. And I haven't seen a Protoss or Zerg w
After loading a game that locked up on me(no error reports were created) I played for a while until I got bored with the situation. I exited to the main menu and clicked to create a new game and had an instant crash to desktop. dropbox with debug and dump file. I added the debug from the documents/mygames/elemental folder as well because it contained a few extra lines that the other one didn't hav
I don't really buy that. I went through a similar thing as wilebill, only over a period of years instead of months. These games are made pretty carefully with psychological principles in mind to reinforce peoples desire to keep playing. They can act similar to addictive substances, only without the substance part. Families actually have been destroyed over these types of games, so "friends or relatives not being able to drag you awa
I do not hate WoW. I do not hate Blizzard. I respect both highly. However, the lemming effect is very real because WoW can become such a major part of your life all too easily. WoW addiction is not a myth. I started playing WoW when it first came out. For nearly 3 months I was a classic case of WoW addiction. It took horrified friends and concerned coworkers to drag me out. Much later on, I went back and found I could now keep it in pro
Rishkith, you seriously need to get a grip. Stardock isn't ignoring input, they simply made a decision you dont like based on a wide variety on input. So stop the whining already.
You're games are getting old hortz... or you're an impersonator simply trying to troll.
I don't argue that we are immoral today, I just refuse to believe that anything has really changed. People have always been immoral; they have always acted against the "values" that we are supposed to hold as Americans. The main difference is the loss of privacy; when you do something now, everyone will know about it.
Absolutely. People haven't changed, it is simply that morally uptight now have more stuff to get their panties in wad about since everyone's private affa
First off is just basic stategy. If food is used building houses instead of feeding the population you remove the very basic stategy of starving them out. Especially since this game is using food as a global resource to allow for the specilizations in cities. After playing the beta I was of the mind that food as a global wasn't as attractive as it sounded before I got into beta But if you are trying to avoid the every city is an em
Testers and developers aren't the same people. No doubt all the testers want the game to go into multiplayer and add the 3d engine but that's because our livelihood (ok maybe that is a bit dramatic) isn't on the line. In short, I want to play more of the game but that's only because I don't care if it throws off their beta strategy.
You'd be surprised at how professional most beta testers are. I doubt 70% would recommend moving on
But it seems the team is to gung-ho on this one to want to stop and consider customer feedback on the issue anyways so I hope Elemental works out as another game with Global resources.
Quit being melodramatic. The Devs have seen countless posts on the subject supporting either side. Don't act like everyone is against this when clearly that's not the case.
Wow, thanks for the insightful post Frogboy! Hopefully it will quell some fears that the economic system wont have enough enough depth.
Frogboy has said that the tactical combat will be continuous turn based, like Baldur's Gate, but with the option to pause in between turns. So, depending on what you like, it can be more real time or more turn based.

I can't mount a rational defense for Fox News, but neither can I for any other 24 hour news network. They all sensationalize and cater to their viewers. Fox News does the best/most notable job of it, but every other network is guilty as well.
The lack of significant opponent AI shouldn't be related to path finding. Just seems like an issue where move commands avoid all units instead of non-friendly ones.
100% want. The ability to equip beasts to be even better killing machines is absolutely needed.
No I'm simply one of those people who never had any desire to play online.
The beta is borderline fun. Usually when fun starts happening a crash occurs soon after. Balance and general 'undoneness' also keeps things from being very fun. Things are really just coming together to make a coherent game now. A lot of features have been implemented(to some degree, very little is finalized) and it's getting stable enough to play for longer then a couple dozen turns. Later this week there is supposed to be a relativity large update to help stability. If you w
I've had this happen to me as well. In my case it was due to a unit(my Sov) being blocked by another unit while still trying to execute a move order. I fixed it by manually moving my Sov to use up the movement points. Once the movement points were used the button became available again.
