I'd be interested. I might fall asleep though, so I'll set my alarm (PST here) :p Pretty sure you were in that game we played yesterday (I recognize your nickname), in game name is Carbon, forum name is of course carbon016. I can host if you really need it, but I'm only on a cable connection.

This is the silliest bug report I've ever seen.
Get the 8800GT 256mb.
1. When zooming out, you get the invisible barriers because that's the edges of the galaxy, right? Well, that's lovely, but when you zoom in, the barriers are the same, regardless of scale, so you can't scroll right if your planet is near the right part of the map, even if you're zoomed all the way in to a ship. 2. The annoying "SUPER SENSITIVE SCROLL WHEEL" bug is back from Beta 2/3.
There are already going to be a lot of franchise mods. I really think it'd be best to concentrate talent on a few rather than making a bunch of 'em that will never get finished.
Carbon: About your connections problem, do you have .net 2.0 installed?
Yes, I checked.
Is Galaxy Forge available for download on Stardock if Sins is bought through Stardock?
Pretty sure it's not on SDC. Just download it through the link above.
I'm having an issue with Add Connection. It seems to do nothing when I try to connect planets or stars. No white line, just selects the other planet as normal. I get the special cursor though.
Dawn of Victory uses this model almost down to a T. All of us really like Rise of Nations and so even if the base game doesn't strike your uber-micro fancy you'll have a mod that we promise will.
You want them to add a bunch of inverse square root function calls or something to run on the other cores just for shits and giggles? If I answer yes to this does that make me a bad person?
Yes! It should be doing bubble sort instead!
If you are using SLI/Crossfire or the "dual gpu cards", (cards really use SLI/Crossfire, of course they leave that part out) you can set the game to use only one CPU core through your SLI/Crossfire settings (CPU is not a typo). I really hope this game uses multi-threading, especially with all of the ships/ai/planets/meshes it has to process
Or you can just set affinity with ctrl-alt-del. But I trust the game not to overstep its b
Also, a C2D has two fast cores, so even if it's just running one of them for the game it's still going to get good performance
TBH i'd rather have Sins using all of one core and none of the rest than sharing it equally, because I run in windowed mode with dual monitors. So it only using another core for texture loading is a good thing.
Esatly. You can't clam this is going to be a game for low AND high and mashines if you're not going to support dual and quad cores. (coreted spelling ^^)
That makes absolutely zero sense. If there's nothing to use on those cores there's no reason to be aware of them.
What is a ship? A miserable little pile of secrets!
this game's hardware reqs are insanely low you could probably play it on an old atari console hooked up to a screen and thats without turning down the graphics from max!
Yes, at least medium.
8600GTS isn't so great but it really depends on the resolution. Right now you won't have much of a problem but there's a lot of high-res stuff in the final build. You'll probably run it fine though, as long as you're not running dual 30" monitors at 1600x1200 or something.
This sort of thing has killed a couple titles I've played in the past (Jedi Academy, anyone?). I don't think it's a good idea or possible.
Of the Music CD? Something tells me I doubt that. I thought the whole idea of getting the CE was to get the music and extras.
Digital download is the CE.
You get a "digital copy" of the CD with the digital download only version.
You are required to put down online purchases on your income tax form, not doing so is viewed by the IRS as tax evasion Then why isn't it anywhere on the tax *forms*?
It is. Some states require you to use separate forms, such as [link=http://dor.myflorida.com/dor/consumer/]Florida[/link], but most are on regular income tax forms.
...words...
The point is that rationalizing it after the fact is not cool, not that it's not worth it. We can all figure out things to point out about the game, Stardock, or whatever to say "oh five bucks that's nothing", but the fact is that that should have been made clear waaaay earlier than now.
Not even close. I would consider some of the more graphically torrid statements over this one for that comment. Of course if one has a mind that flows with nasty, dirty deviant thoughts lower then a excrement filled gutter below the streets of hell during a holiday then I guess I could see how one would think it was TMI. But I could be wrong. <img id="ImageResize_Image_12" onload="ImageResizer.createOn(this);" src="http://images.stardock.com/smiles/Wink.gif" align="absmiddle" border
IMO the way to fix this would be to either give a $5 rebate to digital downloaders only or waive the $5 requirement to upgrade to the box and just require S&H. If both versions are "Collector's Edition", then there shouldn't be another $5 required, right? Digital download is necessary for people not able to acquire the retail version, but people that don't know better are getting confused.'
I went with the digital download because I'm impatient and don't want to pay sale
Dawn of Victory is going to have a modification of the ground bombing system where troops are sent down to the planet, but this will only be made clear through gunfire and sound effects and perhaps some particle effects. A zoom-in level is really unfeasible at this stage.
