Yea great fun - a game with four allies against one enemy. Very strategic and logic gameplay really...

Perhaps you should play multiplayer before complaining?
That or set your AI differently. Rather than, as was summed up excellently,
trolling the official forums one day after launch
. Granted, "This is a nothing post, from someone who doesn't understand what a computer game is. Or a good

Yes, but I think Ironclad knew their astronomy because there is a special option for "random non-green star" in the map editor :p
The Forge tools are now available. They're a free download in the downloads section.
Uh, I still only see GalaxyForge? Other than that, good news! Very surprised at the Amazon top-seller thing, sales should only get better from here. Sleeper hit indeed!
I paid for a nice strategic game and not for a stupid all against human game.
Perhaps you should play multiplayer before complaining?
It was really hyperbole, what I meant was that the game mechanics were so skewed in favor of the AI teaming up with itself that it almost seemed like it was bypassing the normal "do a bunch of difficult missions" thing and therefore cheating. On the upside, I have had very little problems with siege frigate spam! I just play MP half the time anyway. :p
DX10 is not a magical software update that automatically makes everything look like it came directly out of Star Wars. You can do neat stuff with it but saying "oh we should just have DX10 in the game" means absolutely nothing.
Carbon16, My understanding is that if you bought from Stardock, then on the web page, in addition to the Bonus Pack, there is also an additional URL which points to a download for the pdf. The pdf is NOT part of the bonus pack. I cannot verify this because I bought from Best Buy, thus, do not have access to said pdf link. So Carbon16: how did you buy the game? -HM
Digital download, must have mi
I only see a manual pdf in the game directory. You have to use the update button in game to get the pdf. If you bought from Stardock, the resulting web url will give you links to get the pdf. If you bought the regular boxed edition from a store like Best Buy or Gamestop, you will only see a download for the Bonus Pack. -HM
Yeah, I used that button, ran the installer (
If either of you all pre-ordered your downloads you can find the printable keycard by clicking "update game" ingame (or by running the games launcher file, and clicking update there). That will take you to a download for the Collectors Edition digital content, the keycard PDF among them. If you didn't pre-order, then i'm not 100% sure if its available.
I only see a manual pdf in the game directory.
EDIT: already the 'europeans only' servers have appeared lol. one thing thats a godsend in this game is it doesn't display ping.
Esc -> Network
The game has been marketed as a RTS/4X hybrid or a RTS with 4X elements. I see no reason it doesn't fit that bill, and most RTS games last about an hour anyway. With that said, I'm going to retreat to my elitist ivory tower.
Don't play AI? I got reverse compstomped too, but the fact is this is a MP game so play it MP.
How does it not have anything to do with in-game speed? Hitting slow research will make research really, really slow. Do you want it to be even slower than THAT?
This is one of the most hilarious bug reports i have ever read. "Hey i`ve got a bug that means my whole country has this bug, nazi developers! I`m suing you!"
Despite all the other threads on the issue as well, lol.
I really don't care at this point, except I wonder if it's moddable, because I'd love to see this in Dawn of Victory as well as some of the franchise mods.
I just played a medium game on "Easy" AI to see if they were improved from the beta. Well, I put "Easy" in scare quotes for a reason. I managed to get three planets (two of them asteroids) before being hit with multi-pronged attacks everywhere from various factions. It seems that part of this has to do with factional allegiance. The missions were doable..but I was given them way too early, and with a extremely small time limit. That would have only given me 25% influence, as we
35-45 fps with 145 stars. :D That's what you guys should REALLY do to test your system!
Eh? I play very long games at Normal difficulty, a game last night was five hours before my stupid cat ended up hitting the power button on the top of my case in the middle of it. Perhaps you should play larger (6-10 player) games?
Set the game to "Fast", "Fast Research", "High Resources"? If you don't want to play a game that ends up being over 40 minutes, this is really not the game for you. I play the Empires mod for Half Life 2 and each round of that is about as long (as well as most RTS games)!
Why do the Advent keep muttering things about "enemas" when I click their ships? So far both the carrier and the light carrier say things about them. I'm convinced it's some sort of Latin (aenima?!?) term for something that they use, but I'm not exactly sure what they're referring to. It's kind of an unfortunate phrasing regardless. That or they just are into that sort of thing, being evangelical space hippies and all.
Yeah, this will work. Note that you have to have a unique serial for ICO though. I'd make him another account and then gift it to him.
1. Build Akkan as flagship 2. Go on magical mystery tour around galaxy 3. ??? 4. Profit
Seriously though how much would adding this "feature" increase the system requirements
No.
Uh, it's trying to go through the firewall? Don't run bloated crapware like Norton or play in windowed mode.
8800GTS (G80) 1440x900, windowed on one of my monitors, 4x AA (i want more AA! :V) and everyone on highest and bloom and staying stable at 60fps.
