According to ABC News, the day after we all bailed out AIG, its board all went on a $500,000 trip to a resort and played golf. I suppose I don't need to say who paid the bill.

What I think would be really neat is if you made it so that we could have a custom race use its own heightmaps for every planet. For example, an entirely aquatic race could use a color-inverted set of heightmaps so that all of their buildings are built in water. So yeah, I would love to be able to define race-specific changes to the game like this. Make it so that I could, say, change the Initial Colonies and Civilization Capitals to lower their food production to make a l
Waste of a point? You're just unlucky. I always take Creativity, it is quite powerful (or even a necessity - stupid Thalans).
Yeah, the Tesla Roadster does indeed rock. I might add that it's approprately named too - Nikola Tesla did work almost exclusively with electricity. He and Thomas Edison were almost equally famous (they both lived during the same time), but of course, people only remember one of them.
Haha, time for me to upgrade. I guess I'm the only poor sucker still using a CRT, eh? Yeah, I'm using a 19", standard 5:4 ratio Dell CRT from back when they still made off-white monitors. It's running a whopping 1280 x 1024 resolution at the moment.
Interesting, I had a class 42 from the Dread Lords once. Unfortunately I wasn't playing as a race with any of those Biosphere Modulator/Weather Control techs, so 42 was as good as it got. I forget what I did with it though...
We should all get Beta Tester medals for this! [e digicons][/e] Although I'm sure the beta alone is worth uninstalling and reinstalling. I just wish that my fiber optics was more than 650 kilobits/sec so I could see it sooner. But then again, the extra speed isn't worth doubling the monthly service fee for it.
But you won't recreate the big bang, ever. You may disagree, but you can't get something from nothing - that's the First Law of Thermodynamics. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, and by extension, neither can matter.
Yeah that can't happen, no worries yet. I had also heard what was stated eariler, that the machine broke down within a week of its opening. Actually, I don't think it was ever truly working properly to begin with, they just didn't notice it until it had been running for awhile.
You could always add an extra week to your expected release date, so that you're never late, but occasionally early. It would only be a PR trick, but hey - we'd all be happy!
So, it's Wednesday - I guess you had a major problem? Maybe someone stole those focusing crystals and laser fuses that you pulled out of your Precursor Rangers and built their own Doom Ray, then nuked Plymouth Michigan with it. You really should keep tighter security around those things J'nan, I mean, they might steal the whole thing next time, Corinthian Leather (TM) interior and all! Can you imagine what they would do with one of those?
I believe it does require DA.
Yeah that pirate mega event is nasty, but I've never had it where they were that powerful. The best pirate fleet I've seen was one with off-scale missile defense and I think 800 missile attack, along with 500 total HP or so and a speed of 7 (I think it was five ships). As for how to deal with them, well... I'm not sure. Perhaps you should let your military temporarily die and hope they move on before your neighbors get greedy.
Maybe you could add a #11: Gamers shall not be forced to configure their routers to play an online game!
Someone mentioned putting in an offset slider for ship building earlier, which has given me a thought: make sliders that can adjust where a piece attaches to a hardpoint. If you notice, several pieces and even the hulls themselves don't always have the hardpoints in the exact same spot of both sides, and so buidling perfectly symmetrical ships is often difficult. Another reason is that several pieces, such as the double-tentacle thing, have a slightly offset hardpoint that ends up making mirr
88. You send Lord Kona a request to lower taxes in your area.
Espionage that lets you spy passively (read: without disabling an planetary improvement)
Yeah, I spies do currently seem more like saboteurs - although I think I was hoping for something entirely different from the current system, which is rather boring.
Thank goodness someone finally got smart and decided to fix our routers for us. :CONGRAT:
Quite sad...
I personally held this opinon of Continuum. Maybe I'm just not much of a sci-fi guy.
Haha... I don't think you understood what I was saying. He says in the OP that right and wrong are relative, or in other words, there is no such thing as right and wrong. I said that the mere idea of right and wrong proves that there is, in fact, such a thing. If right and wrong didn't exist, then the idea would never have either. You can't miss what you never had!
can you please read the thread before posting
As for the thread, people seem to have somew
See, if the problem with saying that there is no absolute standard for right and wrong is that, if it were true, nobody would think in terms of right or wrong. It's like telling your neighbor, "Hey, I have no hands!", but then he asks, "What are hands?" If there was no standard for right and wrong, people would have no concept of such a thing. They would behave more like robots, making decisions that had the most benefit for themselves. I might add that the result of such a system would be chaos
That sounds incredibly tedious, and not a particularly useful thing. It may be more realistic, but nobody cares about that. Do you really want to conquer a race that has 100 worlds one planetary improvement at a time?
Well maybe not. I guess I'm thinking in terms of small galaxies, since those are the ones I usually play on. How about making it so that each planet can do research on a different technology?
My current ideas for it are the following: 1. Make planetary invasions different. This kind of goes along with the OP, but my idea is to make it so that planets must be conquered one improvement at a time. This would obviously make it so that planetary invasions would be more realistic time-wise, make it so that more than one faction could control a planet. Perhaps in the event of joint ownership, influence could play a role, allowing you to slowly have enemy controlled improvements def
Hey, another idea that would be neat is some kind of stealth techs. Make it so that ships can be cloaked, and only very good sensors can detect them. Then, change the ship battles so that they aren't necessarily to the death. If a cloaked ship remains unseen by the enemy (bad sensors/no sensors on fleets) and it has at least 2 moves, it can do a hit-and-run attack and escape unscathed. I'm thinking of something like an extension of the Arcean super ability, only the bat
You know what people? It's a game. In games, certain things are just the way they are, and don't necessarily make sense. Maybe they should just get rid of the "make it toxic" thing. That would solve everything.
