Reply to Your honest opinions please in Object Desktop WinCustomize Forums

For a basic user like me all I need from the Object Desktop bundle is WB6, CFXplus, and IconPackager. I installed all the apps at first but then uninstalled them and only left the basics needed to skin this machine. That's like 23 uninstalled and unnecessary apps in my case. I don't know if it would be cheaper to only purchase the programs I need next time round, and get a subscription on those, or if it's cheaper to pay for the bundle. Well, I have 9 months to think about it anyway.

Can't download skins :( in Stardock Support General WinCustomize Forums

Hello, I can't download any skins. Keeps taking me to the subscription page. https://www.wincustomize.com/download.aspx?skinid=5939&libid=1 I am already a member though. Maybe it has something to do with the site updates. When I login via FF or IE (both current versions) I cannot log out either. Page refreshes with my icon and name and I am still logged in. I have cleared cache and deleted

How to get rid of shadows on desktop icon fonts? in WinCustomize Talk WinCustomize Forums

Hello, Does anybody know how to get rid of the dark shadow surrounding desktop icon fonts? I'm not talking about the 'use drop shadows for labels on the desktop' option in System Properties/Advanced/Performance Options/Visual Effects. The shadows are under the icon text itself (like text shadow, not that box thing) and only go away with a dark background, but I like to use light backgrounds sometimes. I've tried everything in WB6 v6.09a.[b].114, WinXPPRO/SP2, and IconPackager

Hola Mr. Neil, Outlook 2003 calendar appointment dropdown arrows for location, label, start time, end time, reminder and show time as, get hosed. Worst arrows are the start/end time ones. I tried to capture a couple of screenshots but they didn't show the anomalies. How to reproduce: Using Diamond, or Harmony, click on an appointment (or create a new one) in your OL2003 calendar. Crack between top of taskbar and bottom of any maximized app in WindowBlinds WinCustomize Forums

Hi all, Does anybody know how I can get rid of the line between the top of my taskbar and the bottom of whatever app I'm using. It's just blank space and I can see my desktop wall through there. Just kind of an eye catching/non ergonomic annoying thing is all. I'm using winxpprosp2. This has always been there with many skins (Diamond now), and previous versions of WB6 as well. Thanks Bichur. Got it. If I fire up SDC and it says there is an update, click update, later. Then, uninstall the old version. Reboot. Fire up SDC again, download and install the updated version. :CONGRAT:

Prophetzer, I only saw that when I had tie first "free cfx" version loaded and still had cxp installed (but off). After buying cfx plus, uninstalling cxp, and doing a clean install of cfxplus v2.00.004 that stopped happening. So your're right. It can happen. ;) It occurs when your changing cursors right?

Hello, I have one question about doing a clean install via SDC. :p When opening up SDC it will go snag the updated app when it's released and automatically install it on top of the old version. I did this with WB6 and other SD apps. If I want a clean install, then I have to uninstall the new updated version (the one I just downloaded) in SDC, run regmechanic to clean out the leftover reg entries, reboot, and reinstall the same updated app I just installed/uninstalled via SDC. <br

If you really run a tight ship run msconfig and check your start up programs. if you have disabled some (or lots) and the entries haven't been deleted from the registry, they'll clutter up the msconfig startup area with unwanted entries. Hola Zman, It would be nice to sort WB skins by WB6, WB6XP, WB6Vista or both WB6XP/Vista. This would allow users wanting WB6 skins to find them easier. The sort by last updated doesn't necessarily mean that the skin was optimized for WB6. I'm only talking about windowblinds here. I'm not sure but it may help in other skin galleries too. By the way, it's almost Wednesday, which means, it's almost Friday so smile and have a great week. :)

Black Viper is the best! And yes he's got VistaSP1 services. [link="http://www.blackviper.com/index.html"]blackviper.com[/link] I'm still on XPSP2 and his registry services tools worked great for new builds. Had to turn on a few things after that but for the most part they work great. Have fun!
