Ooh I thought the thread had died, my apologies for not answering sooner. I wish I had a talent for learning languages. But as my posts make clear, English is something that eludes my grasp. [e digicons][/e]

Oh so you must be picking up a lot of languages moving about in different countries all the time, sir! And a bit annoying too I suppose, to have to lug your personal articles (like your GC2 cd's [e digicons]:P[/e] ) and making sure nothing is left behind and all that?

@ mADDYman: Uh sir I am somewhat puzzled about your last post(obviously I am not running on all cylinders). You changed residence ? *reading through the rest of the thread and taking notes*

Yikes! Please dont call me 'sir', sir! (This here relic is shy and gets kind of embarrassed if someone calls me that hehe). Oh my goodness I just saw you gave me a Karma, mADDYman! Very naughty of you, sir! *sheepish grin*

Uh-oh I am sorry if I ended up calling a lady 'sir'. (Although gamers mostly seem to be male, I think?). I dont know why I use it - it just kinda feels natural to call a stranger 'sir' I think. Maybe I have read too many stories where people get called that. I truly dont know. ( I call even people who are way younger than me as sir/madam).

Ty for the reply sir. Let me see if I got this right- I should not decommission the first set of buildings, instead I just upgrade it to avail the discount? If I may take an opportunity to ask yet another question,sir- I saw a screenshot somewhere where taxation of 49% brought in 42 bc, but the production capacity was set to 100% ,costing merely 4 bc.(military at 60%, social and research at 20% each) Is it so because the factories and labs were low in number, thus costing only a wee bit

Oh a ship can only be upgraded to another of the same hull size/type sir? I didnt know that mhmm. Thank you so much for the post sir. :) *edit* Would it be a good strategy to build all labs at first and gain an edge in research and later on, decommission the labs and make factories ? Or would that be too time/money consuming to be a reasonable option?

Thank you for the reply, sir. I hope someone would repair the search function, it is not working for me atleast. I once saw a post (here or in the gametalk forum) about what things should be present in a Home planet, and what things every planet needs to have no matter what it is being used for,but I cannot search it out- it just keeps telling me that no matches were found.

50 Replies 178,392 Views

Oh! um sir, by decent level you mean the 'normal' setting? or higher than that? Anyhow I'll try what you said, sir :) *edit* Is it possible for me to upgrade a ship to a colony ship/transport? If yes, how do I get people aboard?

50 Replies 178,392 Views

Goodness gracious! I hope you never try to take over this planet sir(I mean in real). You are really good at this thing-I am glad that this isnt a multiplayer game that I'm playing, I dont have to face people like you!*gulp*. I am trying out the campaign in the lowest difficulty setting and I still havent succeeded in winning. I only manage to get 3-4 planets for myself and I dont have a good economy or production planet at all. I mean, I try to specialize as in the <span style="text-decorati

Ty for the post sir. I'm just playing on 'beginner' difficulty, DL ,campaign. I was wondering whether I was taking too long a time to finish a turn hehe.

Ummm, is it a good strategy to make a war-ship with lots of engines to get them near the battle field fast and suddenly upgrading to a ship with an engine or two but bristling with guns? *Dont look at me like that, I thought it was a good question*

*Sits open mouthed at all that math- I suck at math brrrrrr!* Thank you both verymuch for taking the time to give me detailed explanations/directions.*Saving the page so I can read it again and again and hopefully assimilate enough to stop getiing my behind kicked*:) Btw, hairlessOrphan, dont worry about typing out too much- I actually need for things to be put one foot awat from my eyes and have me hit over the head with a hammer before I notice things, sir *Shrugs* <p

Ooops! I am sorry about the joke thing *really embarrassed* Well sir, if I set the production slider to 100% my treasury takes a very bad hit. Btw I apologize quite often- even to lil kids like my neices-I am a bit eccentric I suppose :p

50 Replies 178,392 Views

First of all, thank you very much;both of you, for taking the trouble to give me the detailed replies. mADDyman, sir, thank you for the encouragement. Hmm so I would be better off making the first couple of planets a mixture of improvements, right sir? I did it absolutely wrong in specialising from the home planet itself didnt I! I guess I tried to use one slider setting to be permanent while I really should have fiddled with them a lot as the need for prod/research. I think sir, that

Hi everyone :) I am too dumb for games like GC2 but for some reason I like trying to win at them. Anyhow, I tried the All Factory style of play and ended up with factories in every planet I had(I am playing DL campaign) and tried to focus on research in all them planets. *I must have set some kind of record for stupidity, and I know it!*. Anyhow , playing with sliders on 50% each for military and social production and 0 for research ended up with terribly inadequate status in tec

Thank you for that info, sir. I am hoping I'll learn enough to not need tweaking the sliders/governers every turn, as you said.

29 Replies 134,860 Views

Errrrrr one rather loony newbie question, I beg your pardon. I am finding myself taking the turns very slowly. I keep looking at taxation, industrial capacity, spending sliders every turn and adjusting them rather widely-I keep fiddling with every option. Is that normal in a game of this kind? Or do you folks manage things such a way that you only have to have adjustments made once in a while only?
