WHat AV said. Trial and error.. better be willing to put in the learning hours if you plan to make WB skins.. its very time consuming.
I second all of it! [e digicons]^_^[/e]

I'd better wait and see how this turns out before I create a tutorial. Besides, this blind I'm working on is only my second attempt. Surely there is someone else out there with far greater experience than I who has mastered such a thing and is far more qualified to write such a tutorial. But thanks for thinking I am capable.
he may only want to upload a single icon, and the term .dockzip confused him... when he only needs [win]zip.
Agreed. And I was addressing his question. The peripheral hints and comments, though helpful, did not address his question.
as I don't have OD..
WHAAAT!! [e digicons]:ninja:[/e]
I just ran into this problem a couple of days ago. Had I seen this thread then, I wouldn't have had to figure it out myself! [e digicons]XO[/e]
How did you download ObjectDock in the first place?
Good question. I think the answer to this might help solve the problem.
Try installing and / or uninstalling through Impulse. That's the best way.
...to quote myself...
nope...cant upload icon uless they are in dock zip's....atleast thats what im seeing
I've uploaded many a dock icon in a .zip folder...
it asks me about a .dockzip file, what is that and where do i get it. Please help
He asked about dockzip files... [e digicons];P[/e] But either .zip or .dockzip will do. Armani, don't get too hung up on it, .zip will work fine if you don't want to mess with packaging it up in OD. [e digicons][/e]
what is that
Oh yeah... a dockzip is basically a compressed zipped folder containing your OD skins. The only differences are that 1) it is created by ObjectDock, and 2) they are designed to automatically save downloaded skins into the "Stardock/Objectdock" folder inside of "My Documents." [e digicons][/e]
if you right click anywhere on a dock you have up you should see an option that says "package image for sharing"
Actually, you would right-click, then select "This Dock", then "package images for sharing." Even easier, though is to click on the "configure dock" icon, and go here: After navigating to the "themes" tab and choosing "package files," then you should see this screen:
1) What's it doing? Can you elaborate on "nothing"? 2) Try installing and / or uninstalling through Impulse. That's the best way.
Man, everything looks like it's coming together nicely! [e digicons][/e] That dream looks killer, too!
[e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e]
OD is absolutely the greatest productivity app ever. Mine is so long that it probably covers atleast 2 full size 1280x1024 desktops
OD+ with tabbed docks / multiple docks per screen is a great solution to the problem of docks with too many icons in them. [e digicons];)[/e]
With Neutronium DM I wanted the texture bad enough that I just ignored the odd occasional alignment. It only showed some of the time and was just a single doubled line of pixels. It was a compromise and they always suck.
I was beginning to think along the same lines. Then for those who are bothered by it, there would be an alternate start menu. Right now, it seems that may be the best. Thanks everyone for all the help and input! [e digicons]:)[/e]
Okay. Here's another idea-- I figure most people don't resize their Start Menus. But for those who do, I thought about making an alternate menu where there wouldn't be a tiling issue involved.
and did u check diff SM sizes?
Okay. So at this configuration, the default size looks great, but off-sizes have a 1-pixel or so redraw problem. I tried a slightly different configuration that seems to work for off-sizes, but not for the default size. [e digicons]:maybe:[/e] Do you think there's a way to fix it to work both ways, or should I end up creating a substyle for off-size start menus?
Ok. How's this?
I'm actually seeing it now on the equivalent part of the far left side now too... I know what the problem is, now back to the good 'ol trial & error.
Shoot! All this time I've been looking at the carbon fiber part, and I ignored the metal part! Thanks John!
you got the right panel...
Yeah, in order to get it, I had to work with all the others except the top! [e digicons]X|[/e] As far as the existing problem, I have zoomed in pretty far, and still don't see it. Do you possibly think that the shadow coming off the metal onto the patterned (right) part could be causing somewhat of a visual conflict?
Okay. I think I got it. Threw in some taskbar buttons, too. [e digicons]B)[/e]
Perfection is not a bad thing to shoot for! I'm NOT saying that Aqueous was perfect, but there's a reason it took me 7 months... [e digicons]:)[/e]
Thanks John. I've actually seen these, and am about half done fixing them. [e digicons]:)[/e]
Thanks, I.R. Brainiac!
