Not so hard as you think. It's actually easier on Suicidal than Maso/Obscene due to there being a +20 (IIRC could be higher even) to research on Suicidal, so the all lab start really takes off.
It's a percentage bonus when you have a bonus present. The factor is 2.64 on Suicidal-so if you have a 20% bonus, it's actually a 52.8% bonus (which will wind up being a 52% bonus)-a 40% bonus becomes a 105(.6)% bonus, etc. This also applies to anything above Tough,

No, but how long you're going to continue depends on how badly you want it, regardless of what the score turns out to be. I never said wanting it badly enough would get you there; just that it determines how much longer you'll stick it out. :)

I average 60-80GB a month, and that's on a 768kbit connection. On a connection that wasn't so easy to max out the rate of, I'd probably average 2-3 times that, but that'd be about my limit, regardless of connection speed. If you can find me an ISP that would prefer to do things for the good of the consumer rather than make scads of money, I'm interested. I'm perfectly fine with paying for what I use, but overage charges are, have always been, and will always be ludicrous,

Maso is Masochistic. It's one above Crippling and the AI gets their economy, production, and research run at 200% of normal (so for instance they have a 50% research bonus, a xeno lab would normally give them 8x1.5=12, now it gives them 8x1.5x2=24, etc), whereas as I noted Crippling only gets an economic multiplier of 125%, which is basically a 25% bonus. It stacks well with the econ racial bonuses, and the AI likes to pick them, but the AI isn't intelligent enough about its slide
If customers really want no overage a company will eventually do it. For example, perhaps a better business model is one where instead of charging extra, you just stop service, or shape service until the following month. Consumers may like that more in which case a company doing that will end up with more customers.
I have this crazy idea that I should get what I pay for. Maybe I'm not paying enough.

What ISP wouldn't want to charge massive overage charges on a cap that is easily reached? - I don't mind paying more for more. What I mind is arbitrary limits and overage charges.

-6mbit is by no means the top of the line. -6mbit is ~2.6GB/hr. -Your assumption of an institution of a bitrate cap that would lead to a 20GB/month cap is...dialup. 8KB/s. The only thing (okay, the most important thing) wrong with your argument is the idea of "uncapped bandwidth". There is no such thing as "uncapped" or "unlimited" bandwidth. The maximum you can get is 24/7/365 downloading at your maximum thoroughput. For a shoddy 768k connection like the one I'm on, that's on average about 240GB/month. For something higher up the line, say a 6Mbit connection, you're looking at 1.92TB/month, give or
That's why you always put up the influence trade before asking for something - the game runs every integer trade value through whatever algorythm is used to determine whether AI will accept the trade.
It does this for money, too. Which is very annoying when you're running a treasury of ~5M.
That means the AI is more likely to accept the trade at a lower numerical value, and even if it doesn't accept it doesn't take several minutes to determine that

The not building improvements thing is specific to only some AIs in TA, and has been reported a number of times but has not yet been chased down. They work well in DA, though, and if you change the AI of the AIs in question to a generic one, they will start building more improvements. I'll edit this post or add to the thread if/when I can locate the specifics, as I don't remember which AIs may be affected nor which AI value works the best. As noted, they may not have had t

In the opponent selection screen right before you start a new (sandbox) game, select the race in question and alter the relations slider. Unknown is the default, but for some reason it sets relations to Team if you played far enough in the campaign to be on a team with that race. If you're continually playing the campaign, certain races will always be on your team for certain missions.
