I am reminded of when the expertly trained swiss pikemen came up against russia's conscript riflemen in the early 18th century. The swiss were technologically ill-equipped and lost horribly. I think its logical to ask that first level weapons advance to a point, say to steel and regular trainning. After that there could be as you mentioned, Uberswords to buy for the elites, but there should be some middle ground to this (mass produceable but also effective at any level). I'm sure the devs hav
What I would do is have the stated trait be the dominant trait gained. I would have 1-3 recessive traits attached to them that are hidden. When you pick two traits that have the same recessive trait it becomes a dominant trait. You could even have it use weighted random choices for the recessive traits.
This is a great idea. Complexity out of simple factors combining in interesting ways. </

So sieging seems factual. I am both delighted and conflicted, you see i just preordered c and c 4. I cannot afford to beta and have only an inkling of the game's features. I hope sieging is implemented as a "you can destroy the walls but it wont help you otherwise" sort of tactic. I really get annoyed by games that allow a catapult to kill my solldiers, except when magic or grape shot is present.
Usually you'll use “maintenance costs” to depict this factor. Houses getting older, trousers wear off, people are getting older, etc. But “maintenance” is too easy. For example: in Civ you getting after a while economical strength enough to solve every inner state issue. It could not be. Because in reality there are problems that arise, even if everything is quiet or well paid. It is called self-organisation of complex systems.
I think your logic

Are there rumors of ingame traits like Empire: Total Fail? (If not: I heard there will be ingame traits from quests and moral decisions)

Well I for one like the idea of multistage battles for cities but lets be honest, not feasible for this game. They will probably make the assumption that any opposing force will be met at the gates by the defending army and apply a defensive bonus, depending on the attackers use of siege to prevent this. That being said there is no current evidence of siege weapons in this game to my knowlege.

How about: -Shakmatist: You are a strategic mastermind. In battle your units receive a bonus (that part is up for discussion). -Spoiled: You were raised in a bubble of patronization and are even now surrounded by corrupt psychofants. Your economy and culture is proportionally stagnant. (The last Tsar syndrome) -Rasputonned: A charismatic charlatan has taken the ear (and likely much more) of your wife, promissing to heal your ill child for a price. A significant portion
Actually, technological advancement only feels linear. It really does progress exponentially, making the GC2 research rate realistic.
Can you expound on that? I seem to want to play on fastest possible tech trees just to get the AIs the tech they need to utilize their abilites and make things actually work. I usually see myslef as a massive colony ship sent to a distant galaxy to compete wit other civs and tech research is really just a matter of organiza

Hmm... I must have modded away this issue when I edited the AI value for all techs. Sorry for getting all up in your stuff like that. If you have TA and as much free time as I did when I fixed the AIs I would highly recommend evaluating and changing these things for yourself. I think ol'froggy is thinking more of UI and AI changes.

I'd say the Novachild is the best one I've seen here. You seem to have remembered the art of architecture in that fluidity must be balanced with minimalism to achieve perfection, though perfection is in and of itself impossible. Scoutdog, are you using custom pieces you made or is it part of some jewelry mod? Where the heck can I find some decent Tie Fighter parts, namely the solar paneled wings?

Will their be flying in the tactical battles or just aesthetics and fluff? I would like to be able to summon magical armies, undead, demonic, and such. I understand we can create units but I am a little fuzzy on game mechanics and unit creations. Are any of you in the beta?

I wish people would stop posting reiterations and opinions. We need SKYNET just to organize these replies and the devs don't have that kind of budget. Are any devs even reading this post anymore? How about a little bit if communication? Idea-->feedback-->Dev response-->repeat

I think we will see a new pattern perhaps in console and PC gaming, a pattern of convergence and divergence of the two and the games they excel at. Consoles seem to be moving toward motion controls like the wii and xbox's new project. PCs could be looking at a more feasible mobile technology, and the historic trend of just making them more pwerful, and that might change its functionality as a home gaming system as well as expand the types of games being sold for it. I for
I say I agree with Unicorn. Roads should be something you must deal with, not something you should control absolutly.
Hmm... I'm pretty sure the title of Soveirgn means that I do get to in fact control evrything, absolutely.

So I'm guessing this is your first attempt. (The last light of the sky fades on an empty city that used to be gal civ modding.) Try looking at the tech tree requirements and the improvement list and make sure everything point to the other so to speak. (A ball of dust blows across the empty street into some dark alley.) Also, are you using TA or just the old expansion. If you want to mod its easier to have the tools packaged with TA.

Each game only take about two or three years. I don't see how they could evolve without genetic manipulation and that's a whole other can of worms. However, if you want to make the mod, go ahead and upload it to the library.
