I don't really have much to report on this week. As far as WinCustomize goes I believe I only worked on one issue and that was in regards to the problem with not being able to update your skin descriptions. Should be fixed now. Most of the work I did this week have had to do with Internal Systems, Stardock Central, Store Security and TotalGaming Phase 2. And actually I will probably be spending quite a bit of time the next couple of weeks working on Total Gaming so I will

Right click on any one of the forums and choose the Reset List option. That should get the GalCiv forums back for you.
It doesnt answer it for me, because my stats page has a greater number than my skins, grater by about 1,000 i will look into this and get back to you
Ok, the download links for the premium skins work now. Still getting used to 2003 server and how you need to configure it for every download extension.
Looks like its working
I just did an update that should fix this problem. I'm testing it now.

I have noticed over the past couple of weeks that at precisely 7:00 am US EST that the site comes to a crawl for awhile. We are running a job at that time that optimizes the indexes in the database so that is probably what is causing. I moved it back to start at 5:00am. Let me know if that changes anything.
my stats used to show that my site has been visited for some 15000 times but now it has been cut down to just 6774 times. There was a bug that was incorrectly reporting the hits. It has been fixed and the lower number is the correct stat. <T
Last week we implemented some new code that helped speed up queries in the forums (ie the Chatroom Marathon thread). This appears to also have helped the stability of our sites a bit by reducing server load against our database. Having our servers go all last weekend without any major problems felt really good as that has not happened in some time. I think we are finally starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel! :D Moving on to what I managed to accompl
ok, you should be able to upload your images again. Someone left some test code in there that was not generating the error.
I taught him everything that he knows! Congrats!
I've fixed the problem internally.. I should have the update posted later today.
Now I have a bigger problem: when I open a thread it will NOT take me to the recent newest post. Yes. As a temporary solution to fix part of this problem I am forcing the page to show page 1 until we get into the office to

Hmm, something with the paging is still off. If I force it to show Page 1 in the URL then I can see the comments: https://www.wincustomize.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=272&AID=70838&p=1
A little over an hour ago I tried posting to Meowy's thread about XP home or Pro. When I submitted the post it sent me to a page with just the Original (Meowy's) post and a message saying "there are no comments at this time" even though the counteron the main forum page says 39, then 40, 41 and 42...... I'll let Flyin know about this one. <TABLE ce
1 question. Those green frog looking things and say...post wih sdc/wc browser. I was wondering why I didn't have one on this post as it was made with the browser. Were you in the Discussion area? Or were you using the Browser (IE) part? You need to be in the discussion area for the Chameleon/Lizard Icon to show up.
Aha! Page 252 is visible at the bottom! We're still working on the paging so when page 253 becomes available there may still be a problem. But hopefully we will get it corrected by then.
I'll have JR (Flyin) look into this as soon as he gets in.
Part of it was due to the editing issue (which those changes have not been uploaded yet). The other part of it is the admins not understanding how to moderate the news.
I haven't tested the editing capabilities yet but that will be a big help to have that working properly again. Thanks!
Excellent job to both you and Alberto for fixing up that query so the marathon thread loads faster! I can't wait until we get that applied to more areas of the site. That should really help improve things!
