I have killed your evil twin. All should be well in the world again.

Me. I can fix it.
And who says skin authors can't handle rejection!
Bandwidth isn't the issue. The Colo facility in Chicago is more reliable and also is on a major backbone. Plus it is physically closer to us so if there is a problem we have a better chance of being able to go to the facility for hands on issues. But adding more servers has been a key. Putting the DB and Websites on faster serves plus isolating processes has been a primary issue. In the past we had our DB servers sharing the same machine as some of our Webserve
We have been slowly migrating our servers to a new facility. We started back a month or so by moving our database from California to Chicago. However, because we were not able to install all our new servers in the Chicago facility we had to leave the JoeUser website back in California. So this means JoeUser had to go to Chicago to get its data which made things a bit slower than they should be. Well, with our server migration that took place yesterday, I finally hav
I'm not exactly sure why multiple emails were being sent but I did make a small change that I hope fixes the problem.
When I read a thread and go to return to the main boards the order of posts seems waaaaaaay different than it was before I went into the thread I was reading!.. I'll look into mor
Well, with our server migration today we were also able to install a new server. This has allowed me to redirect some of the load to the new server. So the main WinCustomize site (scripts) is now running off of two servers. We did do some load balancing in the past with www2 but it was not quite the same because both servers that WC used were also shared with other websites. So now, the WinCustomize script servers are pretty much exclusively used for
Jafo, I'll go take a look at that now. Zubaz, Scott - aka Boogiebac created those excellent Multiplicity ads!
Sometime after 11am EST (GMT-5) on Monday, March 21st, almost all the Stardock websites are going to go dark for a couple of hours as we migrate servers from a half-rack to a full-rack in our colo facility. It will be done as quickly as humanly possible, but things will probably be wonky into the afternoon. Stardock.com, WinCustomize.com, JoeUser.com, GalCiv2.com, the store, irc server, Stardock Central downloads, most everything will be impacted by this. I may migrate the IRC server
It's Friday and I'm trying to get out of here so I'm going to be a bit brief with my journal this week. So here is a quick overview of some issues I worked on this week. (not all fixes have been uploaded to the production server yet) Fixed bug with DL Stats not
It wasn't me! I didn't do it! Leave me Alone!
I feel for you. My daughter just had to have 3 teeth pulled today, plus a wisdom tooth removed and another tooth straightened. She's pretty much incapacitated for the day and maybe tomorrow as well.
Do you have a cookie washer? When you logon you should stay logged on as long as your coookie isn't deleted. But if you have a cookie washer or something like that and it deletes your cookies, then you will need to keep relogging on.
We've identified the problem. Will try and get a fix out for this shortly.
No problem. And thank you for notifying me of the issue.
Try setting your ratings filter lower. By default the filter doesn't show all skins. Its on the My Account page.
And obviously I can't type or spell It's friday. I must go home now.
I'll have someone look into it.
Who's says I don't do much work anymore? Want to know what I accomplished this week. Well here it is! I moved our database from one server to another server Woohoo! Now don't everyone get all excited at once. Ok it doesn't seem like much but it was a fairly large task. Everyone of our systems and websites communicates with this database so I had to do this in a way where downtime was minimal. First the servers were in tw
In the new Developer Journals section we are going to try and post weekly journals on what coding activities we have done on WinCustomize or our various sites. This way we will be able to communicate better with you on what changes we have made or are making. And also this will help you get to know the different developers and what key areas of the sites they have been working on. So when we make a mistake you will know who to go beat up on. ;)
Do others have problems posting replies from the forums?
Give it another try. Should be working now.

We have been working very hard at trying to isolate bottle necks and bugs that have been causing WinCustomize to be slow and we feel we made some decent progress this week. Within the last day we have implemented several changes that has improved the performance. Most of the changes have been within reading artices and forums. But with any change it should also impact the site as a whole. Please let us know if the site feels better for you now. I know it does f
