I have a screen shot but I'm too lazy to figure out how to put it on here.
I just figured that out a few hours ago. You have to upload it to somewhere like www.imageshack.us, and surround the direct link to the image with the tags [IMG][/IMG]. (Direct, as in not the suggestions they give you for posting it in forums.) Apparently it doesn't work if the letters in the tags are in lowercase like [img][/img]. They have to be uppercase.

I managed to get HIGH espionage for both of my neighbors quite a few turns ago. So as per Loupdinour's suggestion to put spies on their farms, I took a look at all their planets. And guess what? NONE of them have any farms! I'm playing on Challenging with Max CPU... how can they be this stupid?!
If you're Terran, I'd say your best move at this point would be to attack the Arceans (Yellow). Try to set it up so you take them down to 1 planet in one turn. Don't completely destroy them or you might take a diplomacy hit. Once you've taken them down, your influence will eat up the small gray and the Altarians that would be surrounded by your territory. It might be enough to get you to #1 on its own.If possible, just put transports around all of their planets and let them declare wa
Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I have tech trading off, :NOTSURE: so I can't trade Alliance to the Altarians (light blue), and I really don't think they'll be researching it anytime soon. I was thinking of attacking gray Korx, which would be easy, but wouldn't gain me too much ground. I'm thinking of attacking brown, but not sure how to pull that off effectively. :NOTSURE: By the way, I'm blue Terran.
I am playing with five opponents on Challenging, and max CPU algorithms. I am ranked 2nd overall and have a booming economy. However, my major competitor (who I have Close relations with) controls roughly 1.5 times more of the galaxy than I do. However, I do have a bunch of fully upgraded Influence starbases around my border. Please check the attached link for the screenshot. I'm having trouble putting it here. Is it too late to catch up to an Influence victory? Please suggest some
I guess this is because the other civ doesn't have the Alliance tech? Too bad I turned off tech trading already. :/
I have the Alliance tech researched, and have Close relations with the civilization I want to ally with. We have never been in wars and have always remained peaceful. Yet, why is there no Alliance option in the trade window?
Has anyone actually noticed smarter AI behaviors when using CPU intensive settings? What else does the AI do besides designing more ships?
Hey, I got mine from NewEgg too. I happened to be ordering some computer parts, and I thought I'd try out Sins because it sounded good, and NewEgg seemed to be the cheapest place to get it..
Then I think they should remove the "Click on a portrait to select a civilization. You may enable or disable a selected civilization, and modify its intelligence and starting relations with your civilization" message that appears when you choose to play Scenarios, and replace it with a less misleading message, such as "These are the civilizations and the conditions of this scenario that you will start out with."
Well, that IS the point with scenario settings, wouldn't you agree? It hands over pre-defined & fixed set of conditions for the player to enjoy.
Yes, but isn't it a little strange and suspicious that all of the scenarios restrict you to playing with 8 opponents?
There is always some indirect solution for anyone; editing the files and re-saving with new preferences under a different tag-scenario-name.[/quot
I just started playing this game a couple weeks ago, and I think the design is excellent. I think some of the scenarios that give you an accelerated start on technology are an excellent way for newbies like myself to dive in and experience the game, but being forced to play with 8 opponents may be overwhelming, and I think there should be an option for us to choose the number of races in our scenarios.
When I play a New Game without a scenario chosen (i.e. Scenario = Normal) then I can adjust the number of other major races inhabiting the galaxy. But when I choose a Scenario (e.g. Battle of the Gods, Accelerated Start), there are always 8 other races in the "Choose Opponents" screen, and I cannot remove any. Whether I choose to play a Tiny or Gigantic sized map, I'm always stuck with 8 other races! Is there some problem here? If it's supposed to be like that, I really don't
Make sure not to research factory / lab upgrades too early, unless you have a good cash flow. By default, ALL buildings get upgraded, which can lead to a drastic increase in spendings if you are not ready for it.
Thanks, I didn't know that. How can you tell when buildings are about to be automatically upgraded? And another question: I just built an Influencer starbase at the border to another race, but I can't figure how to make it gain
Hi everyone, I just bought this game less than 24 hours ago. I've updated the game, read through the manual and the walkthrough, but of course am still at the stage of being overwhelmed. I have a couple questions as of now, and surely more to come later. 1. When I double-click on Earth, I see that some tiles have special marks that say things like "If you build a Manufacturing District here, you will get a bonus." What's a "manufacturing district" or a "culture district"? Is a
