Should I also try the 1.1 beta?
There are a few "bugs" which can make MP-play somewhat imbalanced (like the fact that strikecraft do not scuttle correctly and the fact that you'll know if there is an artifact on a planet even before you "explore" it). Your choice really..

daedric63, Do you read? You'll notice I linked you to ALL of the information you'll need in my REPLY #1. If you follow the LINK and check under the GREEN writing you'll see a <a href="http://themonk.ca/Monk/Networking_and_Sins_by_the_Mo
Yes the Monk, I am in a college Dorm apartment, could this be why i am having issues? Will i ever be able to play Sins Ironclad Online?
You should (if you haven't already) update your game to version 1.1 BETA (v1.09) via IMPULSE ( www.impulsedriven.com ). It has new netcode, that is able to "tunnel" past firewalls/routers. Once you have IMPULSE installed, click the BLUE O
You could try updating to the latest game version and/or turning some settings in-game down. More than likely though your Intel chipset doesn't have proper pixel shader support....
Demigod is just more "epic" then dota, but somethings will never change. If you want to play on a high lvl, you'll have to practice and work for it. High Level Gaming isn't just fun anymore, its more of a Job - because you can earn a nice amount of money with it. Soccer is also fun.. but to be a pro is something diffrent.
@ Aspartem Herein lies the problem.....I think. Nowhere (that I've seen anyway) was/is Demigod being advertised as a "pro" game,
Please make sure your drivers are up-to-date on both machines. ...and what is a while in "...the program functions normally for a while but then stops working.....", are we talking about 5 minutes, or 5 hours? the Monk
Sounds like a blast! I'd support a MOD to enforce said rules.... [e digicons][/e]
That means something along the way is dropping your connection..... If what you posted above is the actual "tracert" output then it seems like something "upstream" from your PC is dropping your connection. Are you by any chance in an Apartment building, College dorm, etc.? thanks, the Monk
You'll probably have to contact via email...
You're plaing with an older game version (I'm assuming 1.0?). Check the bottom right corner of the screen when in-game. The AI has received numerous improvements since game version 1.0, so I'd suggest updating your game......
you might have to contact via email.
If memory serves me correctly..... The "tutorials" in the retail release (v1.0) were buggered.....updating your game to a newer version may correct the issue for you. If you're already on the latest game-version, then all I can say is.......forget the tutorials.....and just play the game...:) the Monk EDIT: Just re-read your OP and saw you're on version 1.05. Don't know what else to tell you then.
Which version of the game are you running? Try updating to at least version 1.05 (the game version is displayed at the bottom right corner when in-game). If you're on version 1.05 (or later...ie. the BETA for 1.1) it could be a connection issue between you and ICO somewhere..... If we're assuming there isn't an issue with the ICO servers atm (and we don't have reason to believe there is a problem with them) there could be an issue with the connection
1. Go to www.impulsedriven.com and download/install IMPULSE (stardock's new distribution system) 2. Once you enter your email/cd-key information (there is a "key" icon in the upper right where you can "add" your game registrations) you'll be able to re-download the entire game. thanks, the Monk
1. Which game version are you running? (look at the bottom right of the screen when you're in the game to find out) 2. If your're running game version 1.05 or less, you'll have to allow SINS past any firewalls you've got on your PC and forward two ports through any router along the path between your PC and your ISP. Please download and follow the steps in my guide "Networking and SINS" which can be found right under the GREEN text in <a hre
One more thing in relation about the SC exploit: Is it an exploit at all at this point? Certainly everyone playing the beta is aware of it, so for the duration of the beta test one should assume that every player has the additional squads on their carriers/caps. Definitely SC spam, but no reason to stop playtesting IMO.
Well said! [e digicons][/e]
Does it say "wrong version of ironclad online" ? If so, that means you need to update your game version. Retail is v1.0 You should be able to download v1.05 by going to the main menu in-game and hitting "update". Patch 1.05 is the current game-build. There is a BETA for version 1.1 (v1.09) out, but you'll need to install IMPULSE (stardock's new distribution system) from www.impulsedrive
You need to "upgrade" your planets. Under-developed planets drain your money..... :)
Vengeances, It could be that the ICO servers are having issues today (although we haven't heard anything so I'm assuming they're fine.) So... If in fact their servers are fine then a "network error" points to something connection-related between you and them. 1. You have checked all of your firewall settings etc. so we can move on from there... 2. Could it be a bad connection between you and your ISP right now
Sounds like a hardware problem to me. At which point during the process does this happen? More information would be helpful in order to offer up suggestions. :)
If my reply doesn't really belong in this thread I apologise Cykur for hiijacking your thread.......especially this early! ;-p I agree with your "oversimplification" of the first and second halves of an MP SINS game. I think we can agree the first half is where the fun is to be had. I know "mopping-up" or "being mopped-up" isn't something I do for fun..... Suggested GAME SETUP option:</
I'm curious to know if it's anything to do with my antivirus. Currently I'm running Avira AntiVir Personal (The free version) and Ad-Aware 2007. Do these cause any crashing problems with the game?
If you installed the game with the anit-virus enabled it might. I've seen instances in the past with other games/applications where that has been the case. Try un-installing SINS, disabling your AV (including all other anti-malware software) and re-i
What game version are you running? To my knowledge the tutorials were bugged in the retail release. I'm not sure if they've been fixed in the later game versions, but it's something to try. :)
You might want to update your game to v1.1 BETA (v1.09) via IMPULSE ( www.impulsedriven.com ) Just to make sure that some of your suggestions haven't already been dealt with/covered in the newer game version. Then (after updating to the BETA version) use the "Beta Feedback" forum for suggestions with regard to version v1.09 (the 1.1 BETA). Game version 1.05 is closed, and the game has moved on to version 1.09 (
After much research I bought 3 Acer Aspire ONE 's in the last few weeks. The ONE's with the 120GB HD, XP and 1 GB RAM. One of the three has been re-formatted by one of my sons and is now running Ubuntu. All three have on
