I really like to be able to mix the taskbar from one theme with the windows from another . This is possible in WB 6 from the standard GUI. But I cannot find it in WB 7. Luckily the old UI can be used in WB 7. Am I missing something or are you planning to drop this feature? Please would you be able to add this configuration option to the new UI too? Secondly - how do I swap BACK to the old GUI from t
Has anybody else experienced this very irritating bug-like behaviour? It is present with some skins but not others... Basically you intend to use the start button, but the skin (or is it WB itself?) opens the user configuration panel for Windows user accounts. Very irritating! I thought at first that it was a feature, but it's simply too silly and it is not occuring with all skins, just some. I had the problem on Vista with WB 6. To my di
@Snowman - You are right. I think that ObjectDock Plus has this setting, called "Reserve window space" or something like that. WindowBlinds has nothing like that so far as I can tell. In fact, it was precisely when I was messing around with this, and other settings in OD+ that I first noticed this problem. I don't know if it was triggered by OD+ or what...
Thanks for the suggestion DrJBHL! I have tried altering all settings that appear even remotely related to window size. No joy... Oh wait ............ I tried some more skins and I have found that the problem is NOT present with the skin "Laguna" and "Purity" But it is reall
Thanks for letting me know ablev... I thought I might have tried something very complicated and triggered a bug that nobody else would care about.,.. The problem IS related to the fact that i keep the sidebar on the SIDE and not at the bottom. It doesn't occur when the sidebar is at the bottom. However, that is a useless position when you have a widescreen monitor - the side is a MUCH BETTER location for wide-screen users (like me). I am thinking that Windowblind
I was configuring Object Dock Plus with Windowblinds enabled, when suddenly a VERY IRRITATING bug (or problem) was triggered, which I have no idea how to fix (have tried everything I can think of). Problem - see screenshot below. SYMPTOM : When pressing the maximise window button, the window doesn't maximise to the full available screen-space. It leaves quite a <spa
Thanks again for the advice. The problem mysteriously resolved itself the following day. I don't know what it could have been... I just want to report one thing - a Beta testing bug, I think: The shadow is still missing with iTunes...(no shadows whatsoever with any themes). I tried adding iTunes to Windowblinds exceptions ("do not skin") but it didn't help either. Itunes is probably using its own skin (looks quite different from other windows) and it looks like WB7 can't handl
Thanks - problem solved. I had used a different email address than my normal one for the Object Desktop Registration. (An auto-generated disposable address. LUCKILY I had written it down and saved it on a different drive) How can I get this changed to my regular email address?
Thanks for the response. But, No, I had not ticked that option... Either something is wrong, or non of the WB themes have a dropshadow. Does anybody know? So are you saying that shadows SHOULD be visible? That would indicate a problem at my end.. but I just insalled a fresh copy of Windows 7. I tried many different skins, including DIAMOND - no shadows! This is a non starter for me. It looks ghastly without them.
Windowblinds 7 on Win 7 doesn't seem to make use of drop shadows at all! The default Windows Aero themes use them, but non of the themes I liked. How can I get dropshadows - are there any third party apps?
Yeah well I think you were unnecessarily harsh to that guy (despite the fact that he clearly had no clue what he was doing). I have worked in IT for 10 years but I too tried the latest Iconpackager on Win7 without reading the requirements. It happens. Unlike the guy in the thread, I have bought pretty much all of Stardock's products and I DO think it's reasonable to expect Impulse to give a warning message instead of doing nothing useful other than checking licences..</p
Thanks - got it at last!
Thanks for the response. Yes - I had used a disposable email for my Object Desktop subscription. Luckily I had saved it on the Wincustomise site. (how can I change this email? ) So many more programs are visible now. But I still can't see Windowblinds AT ALL - only Windowblinds 6 , which I can't install (get a warning message) How do I force Impulse to allow me to see and download Windowblinds 7 Beta for win7 ?
I have an object Desktop subscription and I just installed Windows 7. I installed Impulse, but WindowBlinds and Object Desktop are not showing up as available downloads / installs. What's going on? How can I get these program onto my PC?
I have the premium subscription or whatever it's called... (Object Desktop?) Just upgraded to Windows 7 and suddenly my Impulse window is almost empty. Nothing to choose from to download. Is Impulse not displaying the programs that are not compatible with Windows 7? Secondly - how do I get WB 7 Beta onto this machine? Can't find any download link and Impulse is not displaying it either/
It was a temporary glitch with the licencing server, I think. Now it's working. I just find the Stardock licencing increcibly clunky and unreliable. EVERY darn time I try to do anything serious from Impulse I get some or another registration / licence problem and have to do something about it.
Hi, Sorry to trouble you! (I only seem to come here when I have registration problems with Stardock products but it seems a really nice community! ) Is there anybody who can tell me why Impulse is telling me that my registration for Windowblinds 7 is suddenly invalid? Impulse is telling me to update WB7, but when I do, it says the licence is invalid. It wasn
That's my type of place. Sounds lovely. I really shouldn't be in London it's ghastly here.
Is there anything more annoying than when you've paid for some expensive software and the licensing is preventing you from getting it??!! [e digicons]XO[/e] I have an ObjectDesktop Ultimate subscription that lasts well into 2010. After I tried installing WB 7 I got some error messages from WB 6 and decided to uninstall it in Impulse. However, WB 7 didn
Hi all - Please would you be able to explain to me what Impulse is? Is it supposed to replace Stardock Central? If so, what are the benefits of this software over SD Central? I am finding the registration and download in Impulse a complete nightmare: I have multiple subsciriptions / licences with Stardock for misc. products. I have so far spent over 2 hours on trying to get my software correctly installed on a rebuilt machine.I am nowhere near completion. I wor
Thanks for the response... But what is it based on... Have you got "inside information"? The fact that the XP version is still in Beta makes me suspect that somebody got started, lost interest and left it! I really want the shadows behind the windows...:-) that come with Windows FX.
At the bottom of my SD Central Object Desktop application list there is an entry for WIndows FX. When I load this, I get a warning message that it is not compatible for Vista. THe behaviour is shaky to say the least, and although I set WinFX to load at startup, it doesn't. What's the situation with the Beta? Is there a Vista compatible verison of WinFX? HOw come the version for XP is still in Beta? If not, is there any other company that makes a similar vista comp. app
Hi again - I really can't get any depth in shadow out of Vista. I am not sure if the shadow is so subtle that it is barely noticeable. Or if I have mucked around so much with the Stardock products that I broke it. Nevertheless, the only way I can see a decent shadow is when i load WindowFX. However this is not Vista compatible and it seems that it doesn't load at startup! Any tips how I can get permanent window shadows back? Regards Cordelia
I've got it now! You all were right all along, I made some mistake. Install My Colours, then go into WB and rebuild the skin list. This brings back Diamond skin.
