I like everything BIG! I sit close to monitor all day at work, looking at corporate branded XP and working with spreadsheets, project plans and such in tiny print. BORING! I want my computer experience at home to be a completely different and pleasant experience altogether. [I]Nothing should hard to read; environment should be super pretty and exactly as I want it. Large and comfortable screen... Not a grey user interface or Arial 10 font as long as the ey

Hi Miki - thanks for the tips :-) I checked the settings that you list; but the problem remain. I imagine one of the stardock products must have the wrong settings somewhere. I'll go through all of them to look for shadows. If you have any further tips, please let me know - I really wouldn't have been able to find the Vista settings without your help. Thank you so much!

Hi! I would really appreciate some tips on how my actual desktop can be smartened up! I have got the number of icons and files down to about 12. Now I'd like them lined up looking elegant! What are my options with the Stardock software? Currently I subscribe to full ObjectDesktop suite, but open for any suggestions! Cordelia

Hi all ! I used to have some well defined shadows behind my windows as I use Windowblinds in Vista. Now the shadows are gone. Not sure where they are controlled from? I am still finding my way around Vista and there is SOO much functionality from Stardock (I am an Object Dock subscriber) that I don't know where to start looking.) Shadow control was last spotted in Windows FX - which I ran in Vista: Suffice to say it is NOT compatible.... This may be when the sh

What application is this? I used it and now I can't find it.. 1) It let me say what the 'shadow' of the window should be (no shadow, strong shadow, different variations etc... ) 2) I think it also let me customise the new bar in Windows Explorer (Vista - the chunky menu substitue bar). If you know, then please respond, even if it is not a Stardock app... Co

I can't quite work out what's going on here, and after about 20 reboots (unavoidable) I am getting a bit fed up.. I think there is some kind of bug-like behaviour preventing me from adjusting the font size to the nice comfy size I would like... STEPS TO REPRODUCE : 1) In Vista SP1, right-click on Desktop, select 'Personalise'. 2) Ch

Hi All - thanks for the tips; I re-installed WB, but I didn't get Diamond! I am not sure if I rebuilt the list or not since I did the re-install before I saw the post above... It got a bit confusing, since WB renamed all my existing themes "Unknown". Talk about wanting what you cannot have....! This is now the only theme that seems good enough... got to have it!! For the record, I have the fully paid up version of WB (Object Desktop and WinCust subscription. Maybe I should just ask Stardock t

Thanks for the tip! I downloaded and installed MyColours. Diamond seemed to be included. However I do not want to use MyColours but WB. I was not able to find anything resembling free-standing installation files for Diamond - just a bunch of XML files came with MyColours. The search goes on - I need something that can install on WB...

Hi - I have seen this problem in the past, when I was using XP. Some skins were flickering in the notification area. There was a fix ( - ticking an obscure tickbox somewhere in Windowblinds. ) Now I am seeing the same problem in Vista. For a while I thought the reason was that I was trying to apply skins that had not been Vista enabled. But then I noticed that several of the skins that I had problems with actually WERE Vista enabled. Such as "LUSTER", "iSkin" and eve

Your machine is better than mine. I am on Vista SP1 - I do not have this problem. I understand that you should run SDC as administrator in Vista. Otherwise I don't know what it could be... HTH

Hello all - Hope somebody can help! I just purchased an annual subscription to Wincustomise. I did this because I wanted to be able to browse and download via Stardock Central. Stardock Central is otherwise able to connect and download from the internet without any problems. But when I access "Skin Browser" and try to download anything, I get error msg "Failed to download". --- OS: Vista SP1 Running SD Central as Administrator with full rights. This is NOT firewall issue - tried

I have a widescreen monitor and started keeping my toolbar along the right border of the screen instead of along the bottom. I prefer to keep it very slim. Ihave the open apps and quicklaunch icons as parallell vertical strips, showing icons only. I have noticed that I am sometimes able to use the mouse pointer to make the bar narrower. But sometimes it does not work., despite the taskbar being "not locked". What regulates this?

I used and loved a skin called Aura or some deviation of this. Now I want to install it on my new (Vista upgraded) machine. But I cannot find it! This was a brushed metal skin with transparent borders. A bit similar to the Dogma skin. Do you know where I can find it again?

I just switched to Vista and have notice a toolbar that seems pointless. It is just under the menu in Windows Explorer and looks in Vista as if it is 3D, made in coloured glass. I can't see the point with this toolbar and it doesn' skin well in many of the WB skins. Does anyone know -What this bar is called -how to turn it off or hide it? Hope you can help! Cordelia
