I use 'cursorlock' to keep the mouse on the demigod screen. Great little program. I do wish the game would let me use the 2nd screen for the 'mega'map (wouldn't be mini if it took up the whole screen :D) . I loved the Supcom implementation.

I use cursor lock, and it allows you to set up a shortcut to play the game .. once setup you just use the shortcut like normal and don't have to do anything special. Very nifty.

I would just like to try this game before I buy it. HAHAHA OMFG what a retard. Serious, you come on the game developers website, asking for a link to a pirated version of THERE GAME? Holy shit. for others having trouble launching the game, there is also a known conflict with google desktop AND the stardock guys have released a exe that works around it for many (but not all) people. http://forums.demigodthegame.com/346146/page/3/#replies

if you don't have a demo prior to release, people will pirate it to try it out (and steal it too of course, in many cases). No amount of moral high ground 'waggling of fingers' and tut-tutting will change that. Some people simply will not buy without trying.. who can blame them? Just make sure the product you buy is better than the pirate version, and you'll convert some of them. That's the best you can hope for.

one good thing about getting more legit players onto gameranger, is that eventually the pirates will wonder what all these higher version games have that they don't. ... might even help convert a few from the dark side.

OK, I've found a solution for those whose cursor moves to another screen. Grab cursor lock 2.5 http://download.cnet.com/Cursor-Lock/3000-2072_4-10767852.html And you can create a shortcut for demigod that has the cursor locked to the screen. Yey! Means I can keep my second monitor on when playing the game.

I don't have google desktop installed... but I once did. Let me try and make sure it properly uninstalled itself. edit: it was still there! bleh. Uninstalled it and demigod starts just fine now. Nice detective work :) Hopefully the Devs can fix the Google Desktop conflict because it is a handy program to have.

Full screen.. but i have a helluva time getting the game to load to begin with (i.e. I'm one of the poor buggers that has to spam the run icon heaps.. so that probably ruins the lock)

Anyone know of a way to prevent the mouse heading onto the next screen, if you have 2 monitors? Most games lock the mouse, but for some reason Demigod doesn't. Drives me nuts as I am used to edge movement with the mouse.
Quoting gaping_maw, reply 6It does seem odd. The impulse login should be just to buy/update games. Once in games, game logins should be different.. that's pretty standard practise. No it isn't. Games for Windows Live, SteamWorks, these are just two examples of the opposite of what you say is "standard practice".
Sorry mate, you are wrong. As someone said earlier, why are pirate versions able to flood the server at all? Shouldn't access be login based? Or are you saying that all of them trying to hit the server denies it to everyone else??

It's fair enough at the time of launch.. whether that really reflects the longer term true value in the game is the age old problem of 'how-to-review games' that game journalists and companies are still struggling with. But given that you know that release window reviewing is how the system works currently, getting the networking right at launch becomes critical in a mp focused game... if you want good scores. No point complaining. Perhaps you could formally request gam

In a mp focussed game, getting the networking right is essential. It impacts on player experience. Gamespot are right IMO, to call stardock out on it. HOWEVER, they should revisit the game and revise the score if the mp problems are addressed, but I doubt that will happen (i.e. gamespot won't come back to it outside of the release window.. not enough clicks)
