yep, australian here :) Would you believe that one of our telcos sells broadband with a 100mb limit, but then charges about 250 bucks a gig if you go over it! :) I'm not on one of those though (20gb limit, which is ok if you don't watch much HD content). I don't have much sympathy for people crying about a 250gb limit in the US :D

I've got steam and impulse and really they don't cause problems with each other. Impulse is very UNobtrusive, so don't avoid demigod just on that basis. You only use impulse for updates and installation.
Quoting gaping_maw, reply 13I'm not sure this is relevant, but in SupCom, I would get sound crackling when the cpu was being hammered to death i.e. loads of units and stuff going on that would push the cpu to its limits. Is your cpu above the miminum req? I have a quad core
Looks like there are other options before wondering about your cpu.. b

Well, I'm not sure I'm going to 'get' the game, but I think I'll support you guys (Stardock GPG) anyway and purchase it. From everything I've read and the vids I've watched, I think it might supply some good quick MP fun.... and even if it doesn't work out for me, I can always rationalise my purchase as a single fingered salute to GS, support for Impulse and Stardock/GPG. Cheers chaps!

A quick 'voice' search didn't show anything for me .. just stuff about voice acting! :D Is there voice comms built into the game.. or will I need to use ventrillo/teamspeak etc to chat to allies in team games? Thanks in advance

My cynical view: Gamestop know their power.. they are betting on companies not wanting to miss out on the massive distribution opportunities that gamestop can provide. Thus they release early, earn more sales than some of their competitors and are likely 90% sure that relative minnows like Stardock can't do anything about it. I can't wait till digital distribution eats further into the games market, and Gamespot are instead the ones bending over the barrel (so to speak). However, who

Handy to know the download size. We have horribly small download limits in this country, and I have to watch every game purchase to make sure it doesn't blow my quota out of the water :(

For me, SINS really needs a campaign. Don't get me wrong, I like the sandbox aspect of it, but I always play that sandbox with the background in mind e.g. I prefer 1vs1vs1 games with one of each race :) The fluff that comes out of a good campaign (with decent writing) really helps flesh out the backdrop to the story. The intro sets it up so well, and I too was disappointed that Ironclad didn't go further with it. I still love the game, but a good story would only make i

The vasari voice acting is so bad I can't play that race at all.. it's also why I play advent the most (since that one is the least irritating and probably most in character). TEC is bad, but not fatally bad... I do feel like shooting most of my fleet captains dead though (especially pizza delivery boy) edit: and a campaign would be nice :) .. I want to devle into the backstory more.
What else can they do, though, short of not offering anything? MP fragmentation will be decided by the community. They're doing the only thing they can do by not making a hard requirement that only people with expansions can play with each other, and instead making it so that expansions disable themselves when playing with people who don't have them. Beyond that, how can they control it?
the COH and DOW expansion
