@Frogboy as far as i remember you have stated that you would be more than happy if someone could mod AOTS for a remake of TA. From a technical perspective, is the engine able to handle animated units such as robots ? All the units we have so far are hoover units so i was wondering if that was a current engine limitation and if you have planned in the roadmap to add the ability to handle robots. Thanks.
Zoom out and the map changes to a situational map of the world. You will be able to give orders to control groups and it will give relative strength of armies. We may allow players to give orders to armies as well (which will show up as a heat map)
Slowly but definitly moving to your own flavor of the strategic zoom [e digicons]:inlove:[/e] Will the change from map to situational map differ from what we have when hitting space bar ?
## Building the Community ## Steam reviews matter now. A lot. They determine whether a given game will be promoted or shown to other gamers. If a game falls under 70%, it disappears from visibility on Steam unless you explicitly search for it. If you read the negative reviews of Ashes they are mostly from people who feel Ashes isn't Supreme Commander. They are right. It's not. It's not supposed to be. But,

Frogboy, is having two no-gravity factions the result of technical limitations ? Can AOTS engine handle units like Kbots or any other kind of "gravity" units ? If so, can relief have an impact on their speed and would it be Something you consider for making them different from the other factions ? Thanks.

Very very nice beta release. I did not imagine some much stuff could appear this fast. I find the tutorial very well done, hopefully more tutorial missions will come in. congrats, it's very promising for final release.

Same comment as tatsujb. Even if from a visual perspective Supcom / FA is less attractive than AOTS, the strategic zoom became an evidence to me when starting to play supcom. This explains why it suddenly became impossible to me to play STRS without ability to smoothly zoom out far away from action and without having the ability to smoothly and quickly get a clear picture of the battlefield. I would not recommend old RTS again AOTS, but i would possibly recommend PA be
I've made a couple notes about how the units didn't feel responsive in the past, and I have to say I can't put my finger on it but they all just feel like they respond much quicker now and I don't feel as if I am fighting to get them to do what I want as much. Part of this is the reduced stopping time but overall it feels much better! One thing I've been still having trouble with is the patrol/move indicators. In order to

Basically when you run a bench on DX11 with AMD graphic card it's obvious Drivers are consuming lots of cpu. On the Opposite with a Nvidia graphic card, DX11 drivers are so well optimized that they do not introduce the same amount of cpu overhead as AMD drivers. AMD has simply never been able to provide optimized DX11 drivers for their graphic cards while Nvidia is providing very well optimized drivers for DX11 and DX12. This is why There's no improvement while

Regarding AI taking control of a battalion, i think about this because to me it does not really make sense to have idle units on a battlefield simply because i did not have time to provide orders. All units should have an order, a goal, assigned at any time, whatever it is. If it's about a battle, then micro management makes sense. If it's about war, then micro management is not enough. If you're the general, or the commander, whatever you like to name it, then you

Frogboy, i have a few ideas about how to make it a war and not simply battles. We may should have to concept of battalions. This would be a large group of units / meta units flagged as being a battalion with and objective we would assign to it. For example : Capture and hold a specific position on the map. That would mean we would have the option of letting this battalion managed by AI. In addition this battalion could request by itself for re-inforcements. We as commander, would be r

Something very interesting i found while testing my 2 different graphic cards (on i7 + 32gigs) : GTX 770 (4gigs of DRAM) R9 290X (4gigs of DRAM). I bought it recently because it's reported as outperforming GTX770 by 30% (average). So i did a test using High settings for benchmark with DX11 & DX12 (1920x1080). And guess what ? With DX11 GTX770 absolutly outperforms R9 290X !!!! With DX12, GTX770 gets a slight better result than wi

I'm wondering where the difference between nvidia and AMD is coming from (Meaning the big perf increase on DX12). I hope for Nvidia it's not coming from their optimized for directx 11 current architecture. Even if i can't believe they have not been able to deliver optimized drivers. But the thing which is to me obvious today is that i could go for a 300$ 290X card and get the exact same performance as 980TI ..... My GTX770 does a good job, but if Nvidia doe

I have 2 systems where i can play AOTS and i've noticed this : The slowest one, has a 560TI card with only 1gig of DRAM, and can run DX11 version with no problem, while as far as i could read, 2gigs of DRAM is the minimum required. On this system, DX12 version won't start. I have to install Win 10 for the second system which has GTX770 with 4 gigs of DRAM and check if DX12 version works. That was just too mention that even on a system wit
