Vasari are dominating MP now and I think this is one of the main reasons why (and I think that because 90% of vasari players are using 2 skirantras).
In the last patch, it was dual halcyon (if not triple), and dual sova. People will go for whatever is the easiest, cheapest, or cheesiest bang for the buck. In particular, onliners prefer an early bang for the buck, vs. a mid-game or late-game bang for the buck (no surprise there, since these are rushers playin

Government controls things to the benefit of the powers that be. So, if government took control of food production, it would all be to the benefit of the powers that be. You would lose the right to even feed yourelf, and would be even more of a slave to coprorations and the rich than you are now.
Also I like the fact that you say you only play MP despite your many MANY rantings against multiplayer in various threads.
But that's the point, dumbass. Yes, I play MP. Yes, I'm willing to criticize MP. That makes me more objective than, say, an SP who does nothing but slag MP.

Has probably already been answered somewhere, but do your envoys at an allied world stack as far as the diplomatic bonuses?
I would love to see a replay of the supposedly overbuffed scramble bombers at work. Personally I have a hard time believing that it makes that much of a difference in practice.
As you saw, I came out against messing with the skirantra for now (I reserve the right to change my mind!), but I do think it makes a difference. I played a game online a week or so after the patch came out, and some dude had 30 bombers out of two high level skirantras. At first I cou
Nice, BUT unless REAL player records are made known on the multiplayer server-all the work you just did will be wasted.
Hey Z00M, how so? This does the same thing you do manually in the game chat room. You have to deal with fake records too, right? So yeah, the program can be deceived by fake records, but so can you, right? This is all about saving you time and hassle.
I think you'll all change your mind when you've got no cap ships....
I hear ya. Thing is, I already have no capships. Caps getting killed has been an issue for a while, well before the skirantra was buffed. These days I've gone back to the uber-old school of "just build 1 colonizer cap, go out colonizing continuously with it, keep it out of battle." I think it sucks :-( I doubt it will ever happen until Sins 2 (if there even is a Sins 2),

Halcyons get their adept drone animae, costing no antimatter, and their energy aura costing no antimatter. They get bitchslap, and all the antimatter can be used for it. Their adept drone animae can switch between fighters and bombers. The sova is a monster and has those missle batteries. As I proved under the last patch, one can take out two skirantras, both alternating their heal continuously. But noody said jack shit about this, nobody ever complained.

Deceiver, there have been lot of bugs posted about, such as capships not auto-using some abilities, the kortul continuously spamming jam weapons, etc. You might want to run a search for them. Also, I just finished a Diplo game where my vasari ships, in a phase jump, did not use the phase stabilizers between both planets. The phase stabilizers had been at both worlds for a long time - they weren't recently built.
People want to win as quickly and as effectively as possible. That means rushing. For that reason, the game will be balanced around it. Sorry, but that's the way it is.
Actually, I don't think the devs will balance the entire game around less than 1% of all their customers who like to play multiplayer on crowded rush maps. We are talking about a couple hundred people here. They will listen to MP folks about unit to unit balance and things of this nature,

Volt - the shield projection does not stack. In other words, if multiple shield guardians fire their shield projectors and the shield projectors overlap each other, it's wasted. So I tend to manually stagger it.

For anyone interested, I have written a pug program that will calculate the teams. It works for any number of players (as long as it is an even number, of course!). I have tried it on ICO already. I think it is easy to use and saves a lot of time. I had teams already picked while everyone was still fighting about who would captain. You can use this one of two ways (I've done both): 1) Write down the player records, then hit the windows key to spawn out
Maybe they'd just been overshadowed by how fast illums used to do it, but to me it seems like these days theyre eating cap ships faster than fat kids eat cake.
I've been saying it, I will continue to say it: Caps cannot properly support the fleet because of lrms and bombers. They can have an early role before substantial numbers of lrms and bombers hit the field, but once that happens, your caps will be sitting on the sidelines, or they will be dead. <p

Well all that changed was what needed to be changed in my opinion. Illums were ridiculous, so the bug was fixed. Scouts were ridiculous, so all of them got nerfed. Skirms were ridiculous, so they got buffed. Scramble bombers was a poor ability so it got a little buff. It seems that your complaint is that you are having trouble rushing other players successfully with Advent, not that you are having trouble fending off a rush? If it is the former, I really
well vasari got overseers and advent got dominas for repair cruisers problem is hoshiko's repair is an instant repair over time ; after it uses its repair it can help fire the enemy; something that dominas can't do since they must channel its repair ability ; even overseer's repair is somewhat not as simple as hokoes
Actually, popularity of hoshikos, and unpopularity of overeers and dominas, has little to do with the cruisers being able to fire (or not to fire) at the e

The bottom line you need to understand is that the devs, from the outset, have had it firmly in their minds never to create the capacity for a "hard choke." Any choke in this game will always be a "soft choke." That's just all there is to it.

I am in asia now and will be here a few months. I have internet, but when I log onto ICO to play, the pings are monstrously huge (5000, 10,000, 20,000) and I can't play. I can access anything else on the internet fast (google, email, etc). Heck, even the sins web site pops up and fills in fast. It's just ICO. I guess there is no server in asia? :-(
