Cant wait for mini expansions tbh :) After all its still the best RTS (or RT4X) game out there... Nothing can touch it - not even remotely... I just wish native OS X (Cider!?) version appears one day and proper competitive claning game modes and scene is finally established... I also wouldn't mind nice little story and campaign as well :s But that all might be part of Sins 2 or something... Until then expansions will do just fine :)

Hehe... How to make Win closer in looks to OS X? Lets make Win 7 and by the time we reach Win 11 we might, just might, get there... Problem is it will still be bloated and insecure... Sorry but OS X FTW - all the way :p
Was afk for some time in regards to Sins - but now - I cant wait for 1.1 and expansion! Bring it on :)
Cool stuff! I have been playing Sins on my Mac since Beta - but of course only via BootCamp :s It runs perfectly, however, I would buy 2nd copy right now if it allows me to play natively under OS X... In fact, just the other day, I bought Mac version of C&C3 - not cause its great game - but cause it can act as my gaming fix without booting into horror called Windoz >_ I think we are slowly but surely aproaching time when publishers / devs
Just preordered together with another XX guy so hopefully see you all there :)
All sounds good I think, of course with obvious need to test everything before going live... However one rather important question. When exactly are we going to receive proper statistics, individual as well as clan leaderboards etc... ?! If I am not mistaken this was promised with V1.1 and Impulse!? This is must thing if we are going to see proper online scene any time soon :)
Amazing stuff :) Looking forward to use it...
Coolio! :)
Ok, quick reply to this topic without reading what others wrote... 1. Single Player campaign with yumyum story, characters and missions :) 2. At least one more MP mode next to existing conquest (ideally one that would fit competitive play) 3. Individual and Clan ladders, cups, leagues, competitions and similar 4. Better forums I would be happy with as little as this :) Anything extra is naturally more than welcome! e
I agree with the statement that PC Gaming is dying, even when we get that handful of developers and publishers that say "all is well; look the other way". A decent deal of those saying "all is well" are also well-within still viable genres and-or with strong influence with consumers (powerful brand(s)).We do still get that once in awhile magic seller that gets consumer attention (Sims, etc.), but should we base PC Game Industry health around the exceptional few or what the rest of the in
Why is this article called "post-mortem" !?!?! Who died??? o0 wtf... nvm eeeeeeeeeee :p
Clans are result of a healthy online game :) Sins is one of my fav games ever made - but both SP and MP need some heavy attention... SP - obviously need story and campaign MP - needs what i said above + more Now, of course you are right as well - some technical issues and glitches need to be fixed too but this will not result in masses coming back to the game... Only major update (perhaps expansion or sequel) with heavily boosted MP experience will
Back to Amiga! ;) EDIT: Oh, and another reason why PC games are dying is operating system itself... WINDOWS is SHIT!!! In near future you will be seeing more Mac based titles which is fine with me since i moved to Mac almost 1 year ago :D
Game is not dead - it is hibernating... I will say the same thing that i already said dozen or so times since the release... If you want healthy MP online community in Sins with current MP options this is simply not possible... Following things are needed at very least: 1. Clan support (via various ladders) 2. Claning initiative (via various, cups, competitions, leagues etc...) 3. Competitive MP game mode (something where round lasts no longe
PC Gaming is indeed dying and there are few reasons for it but main one is this: Production values are growing and most developers / publishers find it hard to return the investment if they are developing only for the PC, therefore, most are targeting other platforms as well... Now, problem is that true PC game cant be played on consoles hence tremendous amount of nerfing and simplifying to make it control pad adaptable... Direct result is that PC game isn't PC game anymore but more of
My first thoughts on using a G3 iBook and OSX Tiger were "OMFG, why have I been using Windows so long" (16 years).
Exactly... I am only recent Mac convert and when i first tried Leopard my initial reaction was exactly the same... What was the point in using Windows for so long!?!?! Crazy shit... :)
I use a MacBook Pro, the first generation made. I bought it the month they first came out so I have the old ATI X1600 graphics card. The newest cards in the MacBook Pro's are much much better (some model of the Nvidia 8600, a great card). My computer runs Sins at highest graphics on highest resolution (1440x900) with no performance loss except when I scroll all the way in, and pan around during HUGE battles. The game runs BEAUTIFULLY.So far, the game never crashed. Neither has my Windows
I am running Sins on Intel Mac and i can confirm that it runs about 5x better than on my PC of same spec... Whatever you spend on Mac is worth it - trust me :) I explained this in another thread but i will say again... By having Mac you are essentially having 2 things: 1. real computer with real OS for all your productivity and browsing needs 2. gaming console in shape of WiN OS Of course, if you are using your computer ju
Great OP ! I am still to try latest patch (installing it today!) but generally speaking i support all other things mentioned by one and only CommanderAdama (shit! - nearly wrote Obama...) :)
Sins of Free Space! Love it :) Perhaps one day...
We're thinking this Summer to look at setting up an official multiplayer tournment with cash and prizes. There would be team games and individual games (duels). The winner of a given game would submit the replay to the tournment server for moderators to evaluate. If it's successful enough, we'd build a system to do these occasionally and get sponsors and such. The question is, would you guys be interested in this?
Y E S Frog - really no need
Not to worry... Soon we will all be recognized with ladders rankings and brand new system lads are working on :)
Not possible -- you can't fit this game inside such a small time period without turning it into an unplayable click fest!
I beg to differ :)
Fair point in OP... I also think that Sins deserve much better online presence. I mean we have amazing game here - fact! ICO is rather solid too - fact! It sold (and is still selling) enough for some chunky online fun - fact! Yet of course it isnt quite there yet... I made few threads and posts regarding this before but it's worth repeating :) In my opinion two major reasons (although more can be squeezed in) are: 1. Lack of claning support and lack of competi
Plenty of such threads but i agree that can't be enough of thanks to SD / IC so here we go again... Danke! weeeee xD
