MP is suppose to come out this week. This will be when the "Stats hit the fan". I'm guessing with the current build, most people will retreat the majority of the time if they are outclassed by ATK. There will be no strategic options (nor Magical/Spell options) to give you any hope of winning otherwise. It's not like you can outthink, out maneuver, flank, or counter you opponent's stratagies, so what is the use of fighting unless there's a cat playing agai

Dexterity is already in the game. I know it effects Defence (now) but it seems to me the easiest attribute to also add in an initiative system (and maybe the hit/miss system for melee). Right now, having ALL one side going, then ALL of the other is so overpowered. Imagine a battle with two magic casters: One with low Dex that usually casts last, but has large/powerful spells, vs another that usually goes first, can cast lots of little spells. Add in some magi
Whoops, I forgot to give Karma for this. I hope they will consider that great idea for upcomming improvements and patches. [e digicons]k1[/e]
[quote who="falconne2" reply="18" id="2759052"]The problem with Elemental right now for me is, even once the major stability and AI are fixed, it's just... too.. simple. For a 4x game it lacks strategic depth. There isn't much to do as a builder - city building is very simplistic and shallow, as is the economic model. It's very rare that you have to make choices or trade offs, because it's fairly obvious what the best thing to do is. After playing one or two games, you can figure out the best
Well, here's the sad thing. I have the entire 3 day weekend off, and this new game I've been so excited to get/play for months, and I just tried playing it for another hour, and quit (after a LONG battle I was winning locked up, and I could do nothing but exit the game). So beside my computer the Elemental box sits. I have all the time in the world to play it, and no desire to at this time [e digicons]:\[/e]
Elemental spells could lower stats too: Fire could lower morale for example (omg, I'm on fire).
Wow. Gamespot's review was, um, blunt to say the least. 4 is NOT pretty. [e digicons]:([/e]
Amazing post. This can only make the game even more incredible when they release it in February; umm; whoops; never mind. GREAT post though. . .
I very likely don't. . .
You heard me. For the first time, I've played Elemental for hours, and I did not "not have fun". After 1.7, I got my first CTDs. 3 of them. SD ask me to try to recreate them and send them some info; so I did; for hours; no luck (or is it no unluck?). Anyway, in all those hours, with the patch making the game not move slower than Kirsty Alley in a pool of cold maple syrup, and my groups of 4+ actually healing up after damage, I could actually, finally, try th
Sure, I have not started my new game yet, I'll see if they keep happening.
I installed the patch, and loaded up my saved game. It ran REALLY smooth; I could seen the improvement. But I noticed that the materials my cities were making were not being displayed (on some cities). I checked and rechecked, but the material stat was missing on some cities (and yes, there were making materials). Anyway, I just continued on with my game about 5 turns, and got my very first CTD. Just "boom" and I was looking at my wallpaper. I'm gussing t
Good thinking, that's a even better reason Robert, to have a reason to use special abilities, and how about this: you get mana regeneration in a battle if you don't use the same spell (or type of spell) for a turn; maybe even MORE mana regeneration if you don't cast anything for a turn durring battle. . .
I got the LE. It came with a CD of over 20 tracks. When I play the game, the SAME music plays, over and over, forever. SAME music in every battle. Is this a bug? Or is that how it's meant to be and can it be modded. Also, is there any way to mod in magic resistances for units in tactical battle. Or at least an area I can see where the are listed (I'm a total modding noob, but would learn to improve this game). Thanks for any help or info in
If they simply put generic magic, and specific magical resistances in the game, that would go a LONG way to making spells strategic and different right there (got'a freeze that fire elemental; got'a fry that troll; got'a melee those wolves). Heck, all they'd have to do is give a ranged resistance too (makeing the normal def vs most melee) and you could make calvary with anti-ranged to tear up those archers (no need to even lower archers curent damage if they did that). No to men
A cooldown would be GREAT. I was always lothing of games where everyone has to spam fireball after fireball (afer fireball) the entire battle. Then, evey battle after that. This would eleviate the spam-AoE bordom of the game, and actually add more stratagey.
Yes, co-op would be the perfect way to test the MP game I'd think. I'm really disapointed (and shocked) that MP was not there on install, but, I'm glad if they are doing lots of the improvements/changes/fixes on their "Big Issues" list first, to get them ready for MP.
If you have a retail copy, there is no need to worry or complain. If you don't. . . . [e digicons][/e]
Just opening the manual, I was thinking "is that all there is to the game?". Then when I started playing, I'm saying "Wow, there's tons more, but where and how do you learn to use it all?". Then, as I slowly, painfully, figure out all the mechanics and UI (mostly by trial and error), I'm realizing "How is your average gamer ever going to learn to play this game?". Now, I'm pretty sure I've learned 90% of the rules and UI, and I've played for several days, and I have very mix
Quick, someone start the "when is 1.08 comming out" thread. [e digicons]}:)[/e] Seriously, can't wait to see what is in "7". I am SO hoping they will tweak and patch Elemental to juciy goodness before Civ5, then I could have a chance to get my friends hooked on this game first.
Ya, when the city levels up, or you go to build a new building, I guess they decided to remove most info you need to make those decisions[e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
Uless it's legal in your state, you must recruit a "female" champions to marry (not a male). . . You lose half your kindom if she divorces you. . .
If attacks always hit, I promice you, Champions will die far more often than the one-hits are doing now. I agree one-hits should be very rare, but always hitting/doing damage is going to leave dead or damage armies/champions even after the smallest of battles; which means constant healing; retreating; or reloading saved games after every single battle.
I'm not sure, but I do really like the fact that you can miss in this game. Not only is it fun, and more realistic, but your champions would take 1 hit minimum every attack if you could not miss [e digicons]8C[/e]
I'd just like to say, although I don't like the "one shots" my champions sometimes get, I REALLY like that you can "Miss" in this game. Really. I've always hated TBG that always hit; and always do damage. I love when my champions are getting attacked, and it's a close battle, and SWISH, the enemy misses [e digicons][/e]
