Now if only one could send a Diplomatic cruiser into one of the bases and hire them, not just for one turn but for the rest of the game as Mercs, or until an enemy beats your bribe.

Some excellent work there. It does have a nice Future/Retro look going on. If anyone played Star fleet Battles, the table top version, There was a race called the Frax the Klingons used as a "training race". Basically there we're simulated. All their ship models we're WW2 designs down to their cloaked "subs". Use to love using them because their turrets gave great firing arcs for broadsides.
I thought the Arcadia was from an entirely different manga series. Same style, different manga AND anime.I think they called it "Captain Harlock" in North America?-- Retro
True but Leiji Matsumoto created both series. You occasionally will see Yamato in the background of some Harlocke Anime. Only picky point is that the Yamato pictured is a sequel verion called Great Yamato. There are two versions , other is sometimes referred to as Great Galaxy.

The Trade port Will double as a refinery IN system ONLY once you preform the requisite research. It will then add an option button you can right-click to auto cast and it will switch to resource focus mode. Further research increases the % it helps out.

Basically they are TEC with a few cosmetic differences thrown in. The only one that does not fit in is the Pirate corsair? It looks like a Perchon thats been cut down the sides. Not sure what if any different abilities they have compared to TEC. A Modder would know better since they tweak with the files alot.
Genesis Rising was irritatingly micromanageish to the point of depression in my opinion
The game was yes. Still the idea of the ships and how you could harvest DNA from dead ships, even the enemy ones, to preform upgrades was interesting.

As JFJohnny5 mentioned the invasion cost would be high up front to build the ships and do research and then to deploy you would have to keep the ships there anyway to guard the troop transports. In the end it would pay for itself though as you would not spend resources to research all the planetary upgrades since you captured them intact. So after maybe 3-4 planets taken this way it's paid for itself. I have to admit in the end game where you are starting to gain the upper hand on yo

I kind of like the Kodiak, looks like they took a small cargo or space Tug and turned it into a warship. goes with the whole , " Damn we need warships stick guns on everything we got to survive" mentality TEC had in the beginning. The Karrastra Destructor looks like a sled to me when I see it. Makes me wonder where they hitch the Huskies up to pull it through space. Also while I like the design of the Aeria drone host, it does not say carrier to me when I see it. Looks more li

I think the invasion idea would be a nice new way to grab a planet. Shadow of Light's Idea would seem the best to me, it would be an interesting way to grab a planet and not spend a boatload of resources to repair when I can just send troops down to grab it all. As for incompatible races Retro has a point if your Advent you shouldn't have to smash a planet to conquer another Advent planet. Just convince them your Coalescence is the better one to lead them. Tec space is wh

Right above Artifacts in the research screen is one for Logistics. the top line is to get more officers, you need one for each Cap ship. The bottom is for supply, Careful not to research to far along at the start since it starts to tax your income to support the fleet.

Yes they do, they also have a higher quota 0/4 instead of 0/3 like the ones a player builds. I have been playing a 10 ffa map and the only extractor I saw free was in my starting system, and only because that AI and I went at each other like mad wet cats right out of the box.

If they do they could try and make it like Emperor: Battle For Dune or Rise of Legends. You can choose from the galactic map the sector you want to start in then have a few missions in there then allow the player to choose a new sector. Like how forces can get moved around to deal with surfacing threats. Only the player chooses where to start and where to go from there.

If your TEc you have that Mandate research ability which adds 4 Logistic points to every colony you own including a Pirate base. I stick broadcast centers there and call it Pirate Radio Num.1, bringing you tunes to nuke planets by.

No you are correct, but one could look at it this way. The slaves harvest the raw materials and transport them to the assembler arrays that create the ships. More slaves means more materials for the arrays to work with = cheaper construction. Slaves = no rights no pay.
