thye prob with low health than all it would take is for 2 regs to keep on sniping him. He's dead.
One solution: Give generals higher armor mitigation against all ranged spells and attacks, but pull their health down to where a melee UB can 4 hit them. I don't think we'll see sim-city generals, according to what the devs have been saying on IRC. Sounds like they are open to tweaking numbers (like health) but the generals we have are fairly close to th

Once again - You shouldn't nerf a given Demigod based on popularity. Nerf based on mechanics and balance. Right now Regulus has the best and most polished set of skills, imo, and that's because the devs took him out of the Beta and worked on him. They need to bring every other DG up to his level and then let's see. Snipe needs a diminished stacking mechanism and that's about all I would change with Regulus
Thanks for the input Vundarbread. It would be nice to see achievements for Most HP healed Damage broken down by amount done to DGs, Buildings, Minions, Grunts I'm sure this is coming later, but detailed after-game stats would be appreciated too :) Thanks
This has been batted around in the forums since the beginning. The best genre definition of Demigod, imo, is RTT or Real-Time Tactical . You can't market this, really, because it isn't very mainstream yet - but it fits the best. The only major departure from the wiki definition - "Compared to other strategy games, games of the real-time tactics genre often have distinctly detailed and
Thanks Frogboy, edited post accordingly
could you be a bit more specific? What abilities in particular do you feel are overpowered? Are you seeing this against one opponent or every Regulus you've ever faced? I think there's a bit of slant, because in my experience many skilled players prefer Regulus or use him as an alternate. It would be unfortunate if he got nerfed because some people who can play like to play as Reg..
There have been a few posts about the need for meaningful information in Demigod. I thought we could collect that in one place and explore it a bit more, because it's vital. Right now we are dealing with an imperfect information system in a team setting, which works in bridge but might not with Demigod. In Beta 2c I have access to the following information - My health an
Javaslinger - The delay can sometimes be only one day, as with the last Beta, or it can be a week or more. The lack of dev activity on these forums makes me think they have pushed it back a week to next Thursday, but if they find significant problems don't be surprised to see Beta 3 in February. CS - Demigod IRC is a channel, not a program, but you can find all the info you need to get on here
Congratulations on the new rig.
Unfortunately, all the cases at iBuyPower are ugly
I think that's actually one of the nicer cases they have though - they all look a bit like Transformers ;p It's nice when boutiques offer Silverstone or CoolerMaster options as well.
I'm not hearing any of the rumblings you usually get on a release day, or even the day before a release - so I'm tentatively editing the post accordingly. I predict B3 for February 5, with a potential 2D for netcode meantime.
These observation wards last forever?
Not forever, but for something like 5 minutes.
Average favor per game would be an interesting way to rate players. As long as the criteria were pretty broad you could get a pretty good gauge of skill that would supplement standard Elo. Anthion is right though, if you restrict DGs to a given side you are going to severely imbalance the tournaments, imo.
I'd get on IRC and ask, but I don't have access from this pc...Unlike some (hint, hint)
Thanks for your hard work, devs XD
I was in the midst of a big battle and only the bottome of my screen showed my demigod so i could see whats coming at me. All of the sudden wagnard comes behind me and boulder rolls me, nver saw it comuing
Be aware of your surroundings on all sides? On this note I'm still quietly amazed at how few players (read none) use observation wards. Plant 3 in each lane - congratulations, you have total map awareness for 5 minutes or so for less than the cost of a Wan
What Rasgriz said. UI elements showing Health and mana of friendly DGs and optionally minions became totally necessary as soon as you introduced healing. Allowing us to minimize a la Empire tree would be great, but turning off in UI options is fine too just as long as default is on.
do people really change the "enforced latency" now in Demigod?
FWIW people do change net_lag fairly often, though when I'm playing with Germans we usually have to ramp it up to 250 or 300 p.s. move to North America kthanx p.s.s. [e digicons]:ninja:[/e] 'd!
I don`t care for Sedna`s name, simply by virtue of how close it is to "Edna", as in Aunt. Every time I see it I think, "Edna"...
Sedna is an Inuit Sea Goddess - hence the harpoon and the walrus yetis (though Sila is supposed to be an invisible wind god, not a central Asian Snow Leopard, AFAIK)
You play Regulus 90% of the time, right Soccer? Against an endgame teleganker this might help: i. Mine the flag with as many tosses as possible before you get close enough to start the telltale flag swirly magic. Three full casts gets you 3600 damage and slow effect. Telegankers aren't thinking defensively, if they are well-synched they might all port onto your mines at once, which is fun ii. Once you have all your mines in place start running aro
Rasgriz - OK but saying "it's obvious" doesn't really work when one half of the people I see playing don't dodge squat. Again and again I see teams relentlessly feeding themselves to boulder and mine kills by simply refusing to move out of the way, or even to try to. Even better, I'll see players move directly over mines they just saw planted a few seconds ago. "What are you doing?" It's obvious to you - this post is for those of us who don't seem to get it.
This was asked about over here , and I thought it might be useful to make a post about it. When dodging it's useful to invest in the minimal speed equipment regardless of build (Wand of Speed, 1k gold Boots) and you can supplement this with the Warpstone if your micro is strong enough (this is necessary in some cases.) *With both Mines and Boulder it's key to watch for the toss animation, since that will tell you to
How do you do it? Massive amounts of speed boost items? Short range insta-teleport items? Spending the entire match never getting closer than maximum boulder range? If you're a melee hero, how do you dodge a point blank boulder? Serious questions.
I've made a post about this here
I'm just curious, why is there so much hate for the Rook?
As above, for the same reason people hate on Regulus - both have optimal builds which are difficult to counter, especially when used together. I'm not sure what diversity you are seeing in Regulus right now - his bread and butter remain Mines and Snipe afaik
That hero for me thus becomes "Easy to learn, easy to master"... This example illustrates what has been one of my problems with Demigod, the affect of "skill" on gameplay quickly reaches a "top"...
Drexion, I agree that the skill ceiling has been there from day one. This was one of Jinx's big concerns as well. What the devs have been saying from day one as well is that the ceiling is deliberate, (much like the item ceiling we see in the current bui
It's really interesting how many of these balance posts are colored by whom you play with and how you play. I played a 2 v 2 game yesterday with an ally who went yetis and it meant my PK snipe build didn't work. He couldn't push, either, because our opponents (GG Sevenix and IamKira) used a pounce/heal/tank Sedna and Snipe Reg to make sure he died before he could max minions. In the end his 10k hp minions did nothing to recover the massive le
