I think alot of the issue is that people have had these legendary experiences with Rook. I had one game where a level 15 Rook was able to hold one of our portals against my Reg and my ally's QoT for a ridiculously long time. Two of us at our crystal couldn't beat off one Rook, and if we weren't careful he'd kill us. At our crystal. We ended up winning that game, but it still leaves a lasting impression... Rook is not broken. His speed needs a very small n
Here is a cool bracket hosting website if it is needed: http://binarybeast.com/ They can handle double elimination brackets too.
Ideally a tournament would be tracked by Impulse. My impression is that is part of why the devs were talking about it in the first place ;P
If everyone agrees on certain...Favor items (certain ones are useful all game whereas others are only useful at a particular point in the game , such as the health poti
The devs have brought up the idea of having a friendly tournament (as in competition, not metagame) in Beta 3. It might be to early but maybe we could talk about what that might look like? Brackets? Prizes? Game Options/settings? Allowable maps and DGs? Personally: I'd expect brackets for 1 v 1 all the way up to 5 v 5 (if the netcode can be made to work that high) Good Prizes If they want to save money: Impulse Gift Certificates, Game Post
This is where the majority of strategy stems from in an RTS. You want to hurt the enemy in a way that puts you at a higher economical vantage point. This does not exist in Demigod.
QFT and I'd like to apologize to all the RTS junkies I've been baiting in the forums, I just didn't understand that this was what you were getting at. This is the first comprehensive Generals remix I've seen that I could get behind, even if it took 15 minutes to read.
Considering how Los Alamos had like ONE bar with all 40+ year olds, I ended up driving the 40min to Santa Fe alot
Yah Canyon Bar and Grill, lol. It's no Apotheke ;P
Thanks Trigeminal. Post updated.

Sorry to necro, but this has become relevant again. OP edited accordingly. Thanks Kestrel
I'll be sure to tie it all in at the end in case you're confused.
Yah maybe you could do that. I'm confused, because from where I sit the game gets more interesting every week, whether there is a patch or not. To use your metaphor: have you ever actually built a house? Operating off of a good blueprint (which we never got, btw - and no, marketing interviews 3 months ago don't count) only gets you so far. You run into structural and
No worries :) I haven't really played Rook since Beta 1 so it was really interesting to figure it all out again this week. From our previous convo - Heaven's Wrath is not nearly as OP as before, since it looks like they raised the cooldown alot. And if you want to be a real M
I was going to post some findings on this topic today, but Wagnard beat me to it: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/337806/#2037007 BoulderSlam Rook should be more manageable for alot of people in light of this info.
yah I was about to put something in another post about this but you beat me to it, Wagnard! ;P Oh well, I'll just add to what you said a bit - After testing last night I, too, found the best way to evade hammerslam is to run "through" the Rook slamming. If you get behind him you will not be hit with any damage at all and it's very easy to do with the long hammer channel. This works regardless of the size of your DG silhouette, so if you are in a Rook Duel it wil
Thanks for posting the info Ke5trel, I have been uber busy with research proposal.
No problem, Trigeminal, gl with that. :) If Devs or you folks out on IRC today get a heads up on Beta status let us know. Thanks, Kestrel

Hi Jordan, There are no NDAs so you are free to blog about any and all aspects of the game. You should definitely keep in mind that according to the CEO of Stardock, Brad Wardell, Stardock Betas are traditionally rough right up until release, so take it all with a grain of salt. If you need tips on gameplay there are some helpful stickies and fan sites, but you can always just ask in the forums as well. Welcome to the community :)

I've been noticing some interesting things about Rook's Hammerslam, mostly from the perspective of an opponent Regulus. Please keep in mind that I don't really play as Rook, so all you experts should add insight where you have it. 1. Hammerslam seems to have a keyhole area of effect. That is to say, there is a circular area of effect around the slam but it also appears to radiate out from the Rook in a line toward the enemy target for a signifi
Well it depends. on how thing goes.. in force of darkness is rank 10 (in reality) and the other player sux and stuck at rank 3. Force of darkeness will be forced to pay only rank 3 upgrade while they could normally use a lot of better things.
I've been on both sides of this and it can be incredibly frustrating or miraculous, depending on your faction ^^ Either way, it can turn what should be 15 minute steamrolls into hour-long grinds...
Ke5trel, i'm surprised you need to raise the latency when playing germans or any europeans... I always get pretty darn good pings there...
There is nothing RTT about this game , since there are no tactics involved with your minion units. As I said, at most you can position your disorganized minion cloud independantly of your demigod on the map, but that's it. There is no interaction with the environment, there are no battle formations, there is no degree of autonomy of your units, etc. The only way it [is] RTT <span st
