Thanks for the update, TyoArk
The game will fail if it doesn't and right now it feels too much like Dota without the aspects that make it really fun.
Heartsbane - Let's take this away from defending or attacking one game or the other. What elements of DOTA and similar would make Demigod more fun? I'm assuming dynamic maps are one example. What else?
You could always scout rush. Should be viable on a 10-15 planet map, as long as he isn't more than three jumps away. Find his home planet and send 3-5 scouts to it in a pack right away. Kill his construction drones with your scouts. Keep your scouts circling his planet gravwell and bring them in to kill drones every time they respawn. This should keep him from getting Trade up in time to beat your rush, because he won't be able to build research labs
All of the above are misleading. Karma is actually the heavenly gift of Our Hero (tm) and savior Frogboy. Karma flows from Frogboy, through the Children of the Frog, and finds its natural resting place in the Eternally Helpful Annatar11. All Hail the [e digicons]:frogboy:[/e] !!!
Well Soccer, Regulus has a pretty big crossbow. He's basically shooting magical javelins :P Plus Rook is a walking castle with people living inside him. Thick and rocky as his skin is he is still hollow. Going out on a limb - he probably sustains his power through gently feeding off of the life force of his inhabitants, so if Reg's bolts manage to penetrate the walls and kill the living beings inside he'll directly hurt Rook as well. &n
[pats Teseer on the back] Sweet sweet damage/stun mines.... Any guesses on Reg's 4th ability? I'm going with "Summon Yellow Hippopotamous of Fury!"
thanks Trigeminal In other news I think my first reply to this latest update actually got pulled :o
so guys, word is that Beta 2 is not coming this week, although Tri's sources are mysterious....
the problem is with 3 or more teams fighting with demigods only than its going to be constantly changing cause u have to protect it from 2 or more Demigods
which is awesome
Teh_Sehnkon...I think the quality over quantity thing Trigeminal is pointing to isn't about "DOTA sucks and Demigod rocks" so much as it about the fact that you can play Unclean Beast a bunch of different ways and still be effective. How many ways can you play Pudge? On one hand you have a bunch of characters that have limited flexibility and on the other you have a few characters with a bunch of flexibility. Both approaches have their merits, but it's worth pointing
No problem :D Thanks for the karma
You ask them what DT ever did to them and they either don't respond or they say we stack the teams.

Well....if one side is DT....the teams probably ARE stacked, unless you take the time to set up a game vs other experienced players. We need to get the Siddy / Gini public relations team on this immediately!
It's like a team of pool hustlers complaining that the marks don't like them any more :D It probably doesn't help that you'll see one DT
1. Go carriers yourself, build fighters, and research the crap out of phase missiles. He will have more fighters because he is Advent, but your fighters will hit alot harder, and you will be able to field 3 carriers for every two of his cause Drone hosts are pricy. You can ignore his fighters and go mostly bombers too, if you want. Vasari bombers are tough , and if you have enough of them you will destroy his drone hosts before the drones redu
yah carrier/bombers sorta works right up until he starts pulling out all those TEC repair ships, which come soon after the third or fourth Marza. Keep in mind that your bombers have to kill the Marza while they are in the same grav well. That doesn't give you alot of time considering it takes all of 30 seconds for a Marza spam to reduce a fully fortified Terran homeworld and move on to the next one....So unless you are really far away or he is otherwise occupied you prob
One thing that I'm thinking about, is someone could play 1000 games and lose each time and not make the greatest decisions. How do we weed them out?

a player with Rank 100 and 400 games played would have more input than a player with rank 6 and 12 games played, or a player with rank - 34 and 1000 games played.
So a player with 1000 games played but a rank of minus 34 doesn't get a bunch of input. The problem with this system is that it's bas
yep, you can do this with movement too, so you can hold shift while you instruct your scout to move in a circle around the gravwell... You don't have to worry about squadron management unless you have strikecraft. With strikecraft it basically tells you how many of each you have and lets you build more by clicking on either fighters or bombers. You can set the stance of your fleets and ships, but most players will leave this at default unless they can't micro
One thing that would be kinda cool and not too difficult to implement: allow individual players to upgrade non-citadel buildings using their own gold. Examples: I see alot of pressure coming from the left lane, I spend 500 gold to slightly increase the attack speed of the Tower on that side, or it's health regen, or splash damage, etc. Maybe I want to give my team a slight discount on their gear, so I spend 2000 gold to upgrade the gea
Lets say the whole team can vote for something. Whoever is doing best gets most votes and whoever is doing worst gets least. Then u can call a vote for an upgrade or vote for saving for a better one.
I like the idea that you can pool resources to buy team citadel upgrades, and that those upgrades are voted on based on merit. I'm not sure how easy it would be to assign votes based on merit but it's a good way of making sure the veterans get to use th
Hi Alfdaur, as soon as things settle down a bit I'll update one of the strategy posts up for 1.1. Meantime, a couple of tips, assuming that you have the basics of a good start down: Regardless of race, learn to play and love carriers. If you tech to carriers right out of the gate then your scouting reveals that you don't need them no problem, but right now they are the most versatile units in the game for both offense and defense. Make sure you have the capab
Lol, I knew that was you, gui . We played a game this weekend where you had 4 Marzas up in 20 minutes, pretty funny...It was gg pretty much from the beginning since it was 2 vs 4, but the missile barrage toward the end took my level 7 Space Whale down in about 5 seconds, along with the rest of my ships...so yah, might be a leettle overpowered but only for people who spam Marzas. Who else do you know who does that?
yah, I'm having no trouble playing as Vasari against Advent online...Just because this has become more than a two-ship type/two-cap type game doesn't mean it's broken. FWIW, and what I was trying to get at with my earlier comment, Advent carriers produce more strikecraft, and Vasari carriers produce *better* strikecraft, for 2/3 the cost. And both Vasari bombers and fighters benefit from phase missile techs, which means I'm gonna carve past your Advent shields in no t
yah you don't get charged until you have downloaded the game...cancel soon if that's what you need to do, because they will only give you a 75% refund after you have it, unless it fails to run on your machine
LOL AT SPIDER MINES! that would kick so much ass, id laugh if the chased indefinatly and u were low hp, get to ur base, and BAM 3-4 run into killing you. Although getting past lots of towers might be hard.
Yah they would only chase for a step or two, and be assigned priority when visible for any ranged unit like archers or towers. I'm thinking this or a trip wire - something that really allows area denial as well as harrassment - would make minelaying more dy
Taking the center lane out will vastly simplify things. Just use the Waterfall map as a model and make it four team instead of two. Center area has goody flags and artifact shop, goldmines, etc. Lane creeps move through center of base and then branch out to hit each other on either side, and they'll keep going to the next base if they overrun a team. 8 portals total. The cool thing is that you can scale this to any number of teams, 3, 5, whatever....
Well, from what I saw, Oak's main dmg ability seems to be his little streight line wave attack which only did 150dmg. That's about on par with the old Regulus' lvl 1 snipe. I'm going to guess that Generals have less HPs and do less dmg with abilities. Maybe less auto-attack? Iuno. I think the minions will really even the playing field though. Having like 10 spirits attack (which they seem to attack like Angels, diving down) would definantly make up for the lack of raw dmg ab
