I feel the same way... which is probably why I haven't played in several months. Also attributing to that is I've been in the LoL and HoN betas for the last two months. For me, those games are a lot more in line with what I want. More competitive, more strategy, more heroes, more micro intensive, etc etc. Demigod is a great game for some people, but it can't please everyone. Unfortunately, it would seem that I belong to the later group. I still drop b

all maps have the crystal behind the citadel. this map is the only one that has the "feature" where teh crystal can be in front. I'm going to go ahead and say that it's probably not as designed and was an oversight. Furthermore, healing from this crystal is not obvious and you can only do it from a small area on that bride section. This makes it even more suspicious that it's not intentional.
That's also proof that Any MMO can become a smash hit like WOW! Because no one expects the bar to be raised with each subsequent game... :p
Comparing a retail release to an MMO is a pointless comparison when you look at things like the budget they have to work within and the amount of man-hours they are able to dedicate to the game. Age of Conan - even the over-hauled game - is a terrible MMO that deserves to fail. Demigod is a great game. Which aspects of the game have gotten worse since launch?
I think he was referring to the community and player
I haven't played in a long time, but when I was playing I had good games with Kestral and RobertMunsch. I had a lot of other good games with great people, but I can't quite remember there names... sorry fellas!
Wrong. The publisher isn't responsible in this case, as Demigod is a product of Gas Powered Games and Stardock has little to no control over Gas Powered Games and the direction they go with Demigod outside of Gas Powered Games' contractual obligations. You are welcome to believe whatever you'd like, however these are the facts and they are undisputable.
Was demigod self funded by GPG or was it funded by Stardock? When a company A funds another company B to develop
If you're referring to me, my post wasn't saying demigod sucks. My post just now was criticizing other people's arguments. I'd like the game to succeed, but I still can't stand crazy talk from either camp.
A publisher is ultimately responsible for the game. They finance the development. They supervise the development process. They call the shots. How many times have you seen good publishers swap dev teams on a project? Blizzard moved StarCraft Ghost to different dev studios twice before canning the project. The Publisher is like the board of directors.. if a company is flailing, the investors don't put the brunt of the blame on the CEO - the Board should have replaced him if he wasn't do
A consequence of reducing the importance of the HP items is that dps items become much more predominant. In other words, Auto-attack will be used much more to kill. Heroes that rely on bursty skills will suffer from a lack of compelling item choices because of this.
I know you're just trying to help, but there's a certain amount of hubris when an amateur tells a professional how to fix their problems. You haven't seen the code. Often times complex problems masquerade as trivial bugs/missing features. It's best to just let GPG fix the problems. I'd hate it if someone started spouting "solutions" for bugs in my game code when they haven't even seen the source code.
Meh, fav items are bugged again. I've played a match in Panth, bought some item, then played a custom match and that fav item was still available for buying and my fav points were intact, like i never bought it before. This is getting absolutely RIDICULOUS. Ffs, i can say now that i HATE fav items, they should make them free for all and be done with them. They are a pain in the ass.
Indeed. I highly doubt people would keep
The way I think it should be, and is in most games with mechanics like this, is that only the max goes up and down. Thus, if you suddenly pick up a plenor crown and you're at 3000/3000 mana, you should then be at 3000/4500 mana. If you have plenor crown and you're at 4500/4500, drop it, and pick it up again, you should be at 3000/4500 mana.
that doesn't even make any sense. Winning is a boolean operation. You either win, or you don't. Disconnects/losses/etc are all not wins. Because winning is either true or false, it must be between 0%-100% To be -4%, your math is completely bunk. Edit: I see, the actual number of game recorded is screwed, so yeah the stats themselves are bunk.
I was starting to enjoy this game too. :( Punishing everyone because a handful of people got extra favour is hardly fair. I got extra favour for the first couple games (about 4 billion), then after that my favour went to zero, I lost all items, and I didn't gain favour for several weeks. Finally I started gaining favour again and grinded about 50% of the favour items. Losing them all is seriously NOT FUCKING cool. Time for a long break from this game.

Cool stuff. I was worried mines don't give gold and I'd be forced to use angel's wrath to farm. (No, I don't really look closely at the gold when i kill creeps and I'm at work so I can't check right now)
The wiki also lists some skills that don't get it the gold/exp. Can someone confirm/clarify the following? Mines - do they ALWAYS give gold but not the exp tagging? Meaning if i kill enemies with mines, I'll always get gold, but if i also want exp, i have to be nearby Rook towers - do they behave the same as mines and gold tag? Can anyone confirm that these are the only skills? How about angel's wrath (the reg skill)? Also, do you get go
For the longest time I didn't know what MOBA stood for. Finally cleared that up, thanks. I had always called them DoTA-ish games but moba is better
I see - so 25% is the magic number. Instead of last hits, it's get them all down to 25%. 25% is Demigod's "last hits".
If you buy building health even though the enemy is not pushing hard enough to actually damage your tower - the upgrade hurts. If you buy building health even though you already los most of your towers - the upgrade hurts. If you buy Demigod exp boost even though the enemy does not allow you to gather exp much - the upgrade hurts. If you buy the currency upgrade even though the money spent would have helped you kill one or two de
Here's how I see it, your mileage may differ. If you're already winning (ie. pushing to their towers consistently) priests can help speed things up. If you're in stalemate, priests are probably not be a good idea, unless you feel that you can use them in coordination with an all-out all-heroes-in-one-lane attac. Even if you manage to rush down a couple of their towers, they rate of their exp/growth will outshadow yours. So if you can't kill them with an alpha strik
In the wiki, it said that if the whole army deals more than 25% damage, the gold is distributed normally. Then it goes on to say that it's better to deal 50% damage to 4 monsters than to kill 2. How much damage do you need to do to tag the creep to get gold? 25%? 50%? 75%?

senda and qot aren't really good late game. They're also not good against a team of disables. examples of teams that can rip them apart: any combination of reg, UG, oak TB + any of the above will also work if TB is built correctly. Against a DPS'er, qot's late game shield goes down in a couple seconds. Plus, if you have mark of the betrayer on her, just casting it makes it start with less than half health (800 damage out of 1.4k). Lat

If League of Legends is unstoppable then I would imagine its advocates wouldn't need to promote it in comments on the Demigod forums. Know what I mean, Somaz? I for one look forward to League of Legends. Incidentally, there is another Dota type game in development that looks very good too th
