With any luck whatsoever my actual tutorial series will start going up tomorrow. I'll drop a link here assuming I'm productive enough tonight to get it done.
One of the more useful compilations of information I've seen about a slightly obscure mechanic. Thanks for putting this together.

Didn't say it was a good move Gameslayer. But FFA in this game you'll often see people make bad moves that kill themselves and the person they're targeting. No need to provide more options for that. Also, I don't see much point in playing the original mode if it's going away, and multiplayer games in next_version being so scarce is what led me back to the current release. I'd love to see how much impact the changes in next version have on something like this, but that
Not playing the game again in its current state. Selling out of stock as it stands now is a cancerous mechanic. If I own my stock, and someone buys it and sells it, that stock goes back to being neutral. This allows someone else to swoop in and take it for half price, making it even easier for two people to gang up on one and take them out. The one can't effectively fight back, because selling out of a large amount of stock costs so much more time. A change needs to be made to this. I don
P.S. It's funny how in this debt-rant thread people discuss the loopholes that allow circumvent the rules and trade debt for cash instead of adopting the intention behind the rules. If that's not a perfect demonstration of how much players really like the whole 'avoid debt' idea, I don't know what is. [e digicons]:)[/e]
It's not about avoiding debt, it's about winning.<
Quoting Jaiwera, reply 35 Tighter debt has problems from micromanagement, not because the inherent idea of disallowing debt is bad. If Cubit's idea of forcing the highest price resource to be sold was applied to tighter debt, then maybe tighter debt would be less ridiculous, an
the game could automatically sell your resources to pay the interest, starting with the highest priced resources.
This discussion blew up more than I expected to. I think this would be terrible for the game because it adds the possibility of getting stuck in the mud and unable to do anything. Avoiding that situation is the primary reason the debt mechanic was added.
Instead of assuming those players have no clue it might be a good idea to look at what they did to improve, rather than working off your own assumptions. I'm not entirely opposed to the idea of extra punishment in debt, but as the game works right now in 1v1 most of the time if you don't have debt you've made a big mistake.
Yeah, jump to 16:20ish on PB's video. Everything dies as he's deleting those solar panels. Looks like too many problems to list, best to just watch and see. Also looks like the same thing as Cubit's video from not long ago.
Thanks for the reply Scott. Would love something like a pinned post outlining short term goals like this.
Two of the biggest factors in stock price are how much of your stock is owned and how much stock you own (buying your own stock obviously contributes to both of these, resulting in a very large increase in stock price). It's likely computers are simply buying stock earlier than you, raising their stock value in the process. Upgrading your colony is the other factor that will provide you with a large increase, although a $45k price sounds about right for a level 5 HQ.
This post is why 95% of my feedback on the new UI is just "make better." That said, the big point I disagree with Deftmunky on is the auction, I really miss the progress bar and thought it worked for easily conveying that information visually. If that's out it really does need something else in its place, possibly something like an analog clock counting down (basically a fancy loading bar) or an audio cue indicating there's little time left (going, going, gone/sold)
Well that was weird. Looked like it hit the A.I. too. Time was 23:20, just a bit before the day 8 auction for anyone who wants to take a look.
@Jaiwera All of these things contribute to why I'd like a discussion to be started. Especially with weightings attached to the actions. @Gameslayer I'd say my examples were successful (although I likely should have weighted them myself) as it was intended to be a rather broad request. Actions a player can take or allow in particular are a point of interest. How good is it to buy some stock? Better than researching tech on average? How bad is it to have som
So we spend a lot of time here and over on Twitch discussing overarching plays and strategies, but significantly less time talking about small moves that result in an advantage or a disadvantage. So I wanted to hear some opinions on what people currently consider to be successful or unsuccessful actions. Successful Examples: Buying stock, upgrading HQ, planting a pleasure dome next to 2 or more occupied housing units, acquiring an opponent, intercepting BM with a goon.<

I'm still here if needed to fulfill the streaming requirement. Yell at me on Steam (Zultar) to coordinate with me. If anyone would like to play in front of a decent audience, one good slot will be tomorrow (Sept. 10) 10 AM EDT during the MohawkGames stream.
I had the same thing going on for the next version. Rules popup acts the same way in multiplayer lobby setup.
also, there was a bug where someone built their base in Reveal Map right away, and then some time later I (as host and 2nd player to build) built my Research base... my stock price was $18 (the other 2 guys had a stock price of $7, and the first player to build $1.50), and I had 2 shares out of nowhere...
This does not sound like a bug. The lower stock price will come from founding earlier in the reveal m
