Well, I honestly think that the 50%, the 65%, and the 75% given by 1UP, Gamespot, and IGN respectively don't show Demigod's true potential for fun and action. While the reviews they gave may be borderline "nice" and empathetic, but the cold reality of people who read these websites and magazines is that they merely glance at the scores and immediately make a snap decision to either buy the game or discard any thoughts regarding it. <br

There are quite a few Australian players, but you'll struggle to get a game other than during the 7pm-11pm timeslot each night. There seems to be fewer players now that it has finally been released at retail, than when it was first released online - I guess that's the effect of people getting fed up with the connection issues.
Do you have a really easy to reproduce scenario I can send over?
Here's one situation where it happens all the time: I play oak, after getting foul grasped by beast, the bug will occur - especially if i was shileded when grasped - can't cast any spells until I've moved
This is something I've wondered about. People have told me that HoL is a must-get for oak. Just use it while shielded and you're good to go, right? I tried it, to little success, decided there was something I was doing wrong, couldn't figure it out, and went on to try to develop tactics I could handle.
Be careful of having preist minions while using HoL - if they heal you they will interupt the HoL, as th

@Mishyu, how are the proxy servers going to help? He's not having any trouble connecting, he's getting kicked because his ping is 250-300ms - the proxies will just make this worse if he connects through them (which he wouldn't anyway). There are a few Aussie players, but Demigod still hasn't been released at retail here for some reason, so you can only really get a game going for a couple of hours each night. I've played a few games with US west coast players, in which I have around 2

Simple solution - Don't Die. Otherwise, surely it doesn't take much effort to reset your camera. I'm constantly moving the camera around in game to get the best viewing angle on the battle. Do you seriously play with the camera at 90 degrees? Top-down?
Anyone notice much of an improvement in connectivity to games with last nights small patch? Was so tired last night didnt get a chance to test it out.
Connections seemed to go a bit faster - still had problems connecting to the odd person, I assume they either haven't forwarded their ports, or just have a dodgy router/connection. The connection info window has been improved as well, which is handy - it updates ev

The proxies aren't going to help your ping, they'll make it worse. The purpose of the proxies is to allow people who can't connect directly to connect to each other through the proxy server. If dota works fine, why don't you go play it?
Just had another game with around the ping 300ms. Plays through fine !!!
That's BS dolmong. I was in that game, and it was lagging like crazy - your ping was spiking between 300 and 550 constantly. If I'd been the host rather than fireslide, I would have kicked you from the lobby.

36 Replies 7,554 Views

So it's not the fact that you're several thousand kms away from the host that makes the game lag then? High ping will generally mean a poor connection, and will likely lead to slow downs in game. I'm in Australia, and no matter what name I use when hosting games, I still have several people from Europe or the US join, and they have 400 - 500 ping, so I kick them. If I couldn't see their ping, I'd start the game and only then discover how shit it's going to run. Solution

If you want a good laugh, have a look at the trailer for Derek Smart's new rubbish and buggy game, All Aspect Warfare: Hornet’s Nest (Alpha Build), 01-26-09 “Hornet’s Nest” features an intense air combat engagement which starts off with an aircraft selection. Due to its size, it has been released in two parts. Part 1 (running time 04:58) shows the mission planning, asset selection

If you're playing as the rook, get the towers, and start raising towers near where the creeps do battle with each other. Then go start capping flags - this gives heaps of xp early game. Harass enemy dg's around the flags and when they farm creeps, but don't die - don't stray too far from your own towers. If an enemy dg comes to attack you, raise a tower then hit him a few times - at level two grab the hammer slam, use that on dg's, don't waste mana casting it at creeps.

Agreed, but not just heeled - should show damage prevented using shield, bramble, etc - maybe call it damage mitigated or something. Need some recognition on the scoreboard for the support classes. Maybe a count of number of times buffed allies/ debuffed enemies, or something.

The currency upgrades are really useful, allows you to get those highler level items a whole lot quicker, at the cost of not having some low level item or other. Getting priests out asap is also pretty useful.
Just posted this on GameFaqs. Feel free to argue it but please have valid reasons. I have played all heroes both online and offline, and I made this based on my findings. High: Erebus, Unclean Beast Mid High: Regulus, Oak Mid: Rook, Torchbearer Mid Low: Queen of Thorns Low: Sedna Erebus can fill the assassin AND general role extremely better, even some of the pure assassin/pure general DGs. After some experimenting, it looks like everyone needs to have the same version of Hamachi to be able to see network games in the lobby - so it probably makes sense for everyone to update their Hamachi to 1.0.3.0

Atari's Australian website for Demigod list a couple of features, one of which is "Dozen unique demigods – Choose from nearly a dozen unique demigods each with their own special skills, powers and capabilities. Watch your demigod grow in power as they gain experience, level up, and brush aside hordes of enemy minions" What's the dealio? Eight isn't a dozen, or nearly a dozen. Is this just Atari getting their facts wrong? http://www.atari.com.au/gam

your graphics card (Radeon X600) is over five years old, and doesn't support shader model 3. There were a lot of people in beta 1 having issues with non-shader model 3 cards, there's a good chance that could be your problem.

I had a similar problem, but to the left. The cause was my logitech game pad, lying upside down on the floor with one of the thumbsticks pushed to the side.
