map version 4 IS the current rebellion map format, and based upon the last year and a bit of requests to complete the functionallity of map version 4, it is doubtful, BUT still wanted. harpo

and yet it was apparently intended to be able to happen in the rebellion galaxy files, but it does not work as the engine does not use the lines that are in the galaxy file regarding the asteroids, and is one of the factors in the reasons for the ongoing thread titled ' [Feedback/Request] On Map Version 4 and the aspect of "Chance" ' harpo
can I select how many asteroids with resources (and eventually which resources) are spawned near a planet?
only by MODDING the game (ie the planetTYPE.entity files in a folder in the mods folder), and not in the galaxy, unfortunatly harpo

yes it DOES cause a start of war, and also the unrest penalty does apply, BUT you do not need to be at war to cast the spell, and the only sides that you do not get to war with are the sides you started the game with an alliance from the setup. harpo

the only section that I can find in BOTH dip & rebel playerRACE.entity files that relate to the elevators at a planet are the mesh definitions and have searched the entire sets of refs and the only other files that get hits for 'Elevator' are the convertdata's, so might be a hardcode(drat) harpo

dark_ansem, with sins the cpu family (ie generation) is of help for the SINGLE core performance regarding the GHZ and ram speed of access, and in those areas I have several intel I series cpus running between 3.4 & 4ghz with the fastest ram I could get, but was STILL limited to the 75-100 planet range before the slideshow developed in the game partly from strikecraft, trade/refinery ships and the planet details with lower details for planets/ships increasing the galaxy size a small bit, a

paste might help, BUT if the comp is in a dusty environment then definitely try a clean of the heat exchanger, the worst that can happen is no improvement unless you do a dis-assemble of the comp, then the worst is no work, and the best is a decrease of operating temps, and I also think that the temps are a BIT high for a lappie, and my guess for the palm rest heat would be the hard drive. harpo

lavo, there is a link on wincustomise ( https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/sins_mods/161/download ) and from my dropbox (might get blocked due to downloading limits by dropbox) ( https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8023186/sins%20modding%20utilities/sins%20rebel%20map%20updater%20v3.zip )

the ref files ARE an archive file set that has the texted version of the game files in the correct folders. to extract the files & folders from the archive you will need a archive manager that can work with the file type of the archive (windows does already support the zip file from wincustomise, BUT the rar from my dropbox needs either winrar or 7zip to open it) once you open the archive (usually by doubleclicking on the archive file (when you have an archive manage
