Out of curiosity, how is Arma 2 coming along? I ran in to some bug issues with the demo, but it looks like several patches have since been released.
It runs a lot better on my PC now. I don't encounter any bugs personally but they have improved the AI considerably. They stopped dead units telling other AI where you were and reduced their hearing so now the AI are not hyper aware of everything. A friend and I have been playing the campaign co-op and i
Tane, tournaments arent necessarily about winnign every game just having the most favor points. Its really not hard to get more favor points than anyone else even on the losing team.
If only it were that simple. The tournament deliberately puts the AI with the lowest favor points on your team and gives them retardo AI. So it is always going to be a battle with the second place AI to the end.

Just preordered myself. One thing that REALLY puts me off about strategy games is when the game is so complex I'm just overwhelmed with understanding what impact my actions are actually doing and I don't understand why I'm losing. The idea being that if I'm in from the early days I will get eased in to understanding the game as some of the best games I've owned have been turn based.

I'm pretty sure Hortz is just trolling so I'll address the OP.
1) Diplomacy: diplomacy, both in Civ or MoM, has never played a mayor role. This thing should change (and it can be made without making changes to the game engine, or graphics). Having lots of options and opportunities for diplomacy, as well as having "metrics" to measure the impact of your actions, etc, would be a great add. Knowing, for example, that my Djinn, stationed nearby an enemy city, is worr
NEOTOKYO
I play this also, it's awesome, feels like a classy evolution of Counter Strike. It deffinately deserves ladder play, shame so few people know about it. Even when I told friends they weren't interested enough to install it and I know they would love it, I don't get it.

There is a drastic difference between Hard and Nightmare, too much really. And that game was over for your before it begun because the Rook AI is kinda like Timmeh out of South Park, watch him try and run, it's pathetic. Hard tournament is Normal AI on your side with Hard on the other side, this is doable though cause the AI is still dumb. When you go Nightmare you have Normal on your team with Nightmare on theirs there is no way you can stop the Nightmare f

Played Aion mostly, didn't go crazy as I never do with MMO betas but played it enough to realise preordering it was a very good idea, eagerly anticipating it's release now. Also been watching the Korean 3v3 tournament videos which looks pretty awesome, I just can't commit to a class in my head yet :( Also I played a little of Majesty Gold and one game of Blood Bowl for the league I'm in. Given up on Blood Bowl public play, it's totally rife with disconnect cheating. <
That's a shame. I really can't deal with the fact that there's an advantage the other players will have against me totally besides the skill difference.
It's really not a big deal, the 2nd item in the list , the 400hp, 5hp/s and 10% death penalty item is very close to as good as any other item you can get. Just get that till you can get your desired item is my advice.

@OP You know, you make a really good point, not one I really thought of before. I used to always get the Phase Missile research and the other weapon trees didn't get touched until I had money shooting out my ears and I had got all the good stuff. The other weapon trees are terrible, Phase Missiles tree improves everything I actually care about. Enforcers are an afterthought in my fleets anyway later game.
Of course, even that didn't last long. DRM software is a waste of money. There are better methods of combating piracy, methods which work.
Not a rhetorical question, what are you referring to?
No it doesn't. You can enforce licenses by suiing the people breaking them (which happens to companies that pirate business software and get caught). That fits no definition of DRM on the planet. It's also not DRM if you need an account to get in, ala World of Warcraft. DRM has a specific meaning.
You're arguing over semantics, my point is that DRM isn't just the Securom/Starfoce type protection, it has different levels of protection, you're ignoring

The meaning isn't lost, it's as clear as day. It means any attempts by a company selling software to enforce the Licensing agreement they are selling for it. The trouble is the anti DRM cult think DRM means software that is installed on their PCs that isn't the product they bought. Also the anti DRM cult don't even aknowledge that software companies have a right to try and protect the License of their product, which is a strikingly similar view point as peop
So in my place, Blizzards cd-key measures (which I do not consider DRM) made me buy games.
CD keys are the quintessential DRM. In general though this DRM is easy peasy to circumvent. Hence why you get some dodgy Asian sites that sell CD keys instead of the retail product.

129 Replies 490,196 Views

My guess is that the amount of people that don't buy games because of DRM isn't much more than the people who whine on the forums about it. It's like a little online cult, like EA bashers.

129 Replies 490,196 Views

My point is I couldn't give a crap about a pirates complaints about DRM, like burglers complaining that their privacy is invaded with security cameras in stores, go to hell. Criminals justifying their actions because of crime preventative measures are just morons, Monk, you really don't need to lower yourself to arguing with that kind of person.
