Nope, there are plenty of games around that do NOT have activation. I will make sure to support these in future. If that means I miss out on some great titles then so be it, its not the end of the world.By making my voice heard here I don't expect Stardock to change their policy (it would be nice though) but at least they know that they are driving some paying customers away.
I don't think they'll miss you. I have to sympathise with Frogboy and Co here. They earn a living making a damn good game, after it's release they invest a lot of the companies money to improve what is already a good and stable game and give this to it's customers free of charge. What do they ask in return? That you install a comparitively small program that serves as a game patcher, game advertisement and game distribution platform. Big fucking deal, I could just play 1.0 or one of the patches I dow

Mansh00ter I cannot agree with all of your posts more. You are led like a child so much and there is so _little_ to do in the actual game how can anyone call this a sandbox game? Maxis did Sims, now Sims was deffinately a sandbox game, Spore isn't a patch on Sims.

The same way different birds all have similar features you can imagine some may shar

Questions 11 and 12 require an answer, I think you need to adjust your survey because I don't use any of the sites in Q11 and I don't use Object Desktop for Q12 so I have to answer something random. This goes for all other questions, if they require an answer there should be an option such as "Im not a gamer", "I dont use Object Desktop" etc otherwise your results are going to be pretty much meaningless.

I'm actually really dissapointed and bored with the game. What really killed it for me was during the creature stage when I realised that my creature wasn't on an evolutionary path at all. I could just completely redesign my creature in every way just by clicking the mating call button, it felt like a cheat and from that moment on the idea of this evolving creature from single cell to space totally lost it's magic because the later stages bore no real link to my sea creature at al

The effects you are talking about are most commonly caused by old out of date drivers or overheating. Try using different drivers, even try older ones if the newest ones don't work. Not sure about ATI these days but with nVidia (unfortunately for the consumer) they keep their drivers at beta almost all the time so their latest non beta drivers are often useless on the latest games so it is often advisable to use beta drivers also. Failing it being a driver issue then eithe

When you are talking about working 40-45 hour weeks as average in the US are you including lunch breaks in that? I'm contracted to do 37 hour weeks, but obviously I take lunch breaks in my own time and I always do a little more but to do 45 hour weeks every week not including lunch breaks, travel time, making dinner in the evenings, house work when would I ever have any time to game? seriously ^^

@ Gormoth1 I'm providing feedback, the forums are a valid place to do so. I am being offered a product, don't see why I need to be grateful. I'm not demanding, I'm providing feedback. The reason the sort of message you post 'fuels' people like me is that you are trying to drown out my feedback as not releva

I can't agree with the sentiments of some previous very negative posters however I would like to post concerns regarding the announcement. Expansion packs for me are normally a way to get me playing a game I like but never pick up anymore. I love Sins but I rarely play it, not because I don't enjoy playing it, it's just each game doesn't feel new enough anymore to keep my interest. Will adding a few new defencive options to planets be enough to spark my interest? I

Afraid no screen shot, never did one before so didn't know the shortcut in time to capture it. Was a piece of large debris from a recently destroyed ship that appeared to have no texture or perhaps the improper texture. It appeared bright red, quite bright, it had some shading on the object but the red texture appeared to have no detail. Thinking about it now it would have been the enemies team colour as all enemies were red although this may be a red herring. I shou
actually halo is unique... starcraft, however, was inspired by the Warhammer 40,000 universe... it was so similar, that, at the time, blizzard had to request permission to continue development...
Yep, just like Warcraft is based off of Warhammer Fantasy. Will be amusing to see Warcraft fans accusing Warhammer Online of copying WoW for some of it's races :)

Since when does DRM stop piracy? It stops you installing your game on your mates PC perhaps but stop large scale piracy? Afraid not. And Kyro your patches will be lost when/if Impulse becomes no more, got to admit that would be a shame if i wanted to boot up Sins for nostalgia reasons in years to come.

The saying is "I couldn't care less" not "I could care less". We are posting in threads not threats and people can be members of guilds not guilts. And something is addictive not addicting!!
EA simply doesn't care for their customers and they only care about money, which makes them bastards.
From my experience, as an entity, any company, and I would include Stardock here, only really cares about money. Sometimes caring about money forces companies to 'care' about other issues, such as a customers preferences, or employee safety to avoid litigation. Don't be fooled though, a strategy to give the users what they want, game patches and no DRM on media has been

I think that's a nice idea. Deffinately add to the atmosphere of the game, personally I'd like to use a version of the mod for the vanilla races.
You may not see any loss of revenue, but I will personally see a net gain in the future.
No you wont. You've just chosen not to get an upgraded engine by your car manafacturer because you have to go to the BMW garage where they have adverts for their other cars you can just ignore. You chose to not buy the best magazine because it had a cellophane outer sleeve with adverts on it. You chose to not buy the sandwitches you would probably like the flavour of becau

I agree about the Subverter, I never used it that much and never thought it needed a nerf? The carrier capitals are for fighter/bomber support more than anything as they always have been. It wouldn't hurt to give them 1 more squadron earlier though. Hangers take logistics slots and not fleet supply, I'd still rather take a hanger at key locations. Not to mention hangers are a lot tougher. Returning Armada used to be something like 8 minutes? It definately needed a c
Haree78,I don't mind the way they use to do it (via the signing in and putting in your key to get the updates), i do not see how "Impulse" will make it better? - other than restricting the customer of where he/she gets their updates....So no more file mirrors...
It will make it better for the developers in reality. With an automated patching system they just need to throw in the new/updated files to the relevant directory if what they have posted about it is correct. Th

For those complaining did you buy Relics expansion to Dawn of War called Soulstorm? Released March 7th. Have you played it? It's so broken it's completely unplayable, the AI is broken, there are skills that crash the game, there are several game breaking exploits make online play against randoms pointless. Not to mention the quality of the game. Have we received a patch? Nope, and they don't need to either, they aren't obliged to. I'll tell you what will happen. They will release a

Exploring is for big games really, when fleets are getting large finding a nice artifact can be a huge difference so it's a money sink for the late game. Adds depth ofcourse when someone does find an artifact to defend/attack that planet with higher prioirty.
