Thanks for the info Quantum. I have an XPS 1730 Dell gaming laptop, pretty high end, it has 4GB of RAM. I'm not sure going to 64 bit would have a massive impact but I'm willing to go with it if I get longer life out of this machine before I need to upgrade. I run everything so far on max settings including the new love of my life Left 4 Dead. I'm pretty confident I can get 64 bit drivers for the laptop because of how new it is. But more importantly, do I need

This may sound like a stupid question but surely I'm not the only one who doesn't know. How would one upgrade to 64 bit Vista if they wanted to? I'm currently running 32 Vista (Home I think), do I need to buy a 64 bit version? Can I buy an upgrade? If I have 2 partitions, 1 with the OS and data/installed programs etc and 1 partition with the restore directory that came with the Laptop (I'm guessing to install Vista again if I need) do I need to format both when goi

I had heard a small mention of it when that other horrible Homeworld clone had not long been released (Genesis Rising?) as a link on Gamespot. It was early days at the time but I never get excited much about games before release so forgot about it. Some time later I was surfing youtube and clicked a link from some Battlestar Galactica stuff to the homeworld mod all the way to info about Sins. It was clear I had to get the game, what sold it the most was the ability to send

Sorry, but as i understand it, its 1 + (1 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 3 + 3) = 1 + 15 = 16 I dont see here eny "5 capital ships" or "9 capital ships"! I bet i am missing the point...?
Anyways is there a viable strategy to counter RA? I mean apart from blowing the living day lights out of the player before they have chance to mass it.....
Yep, download 1.1.

Well I meant to quote his second point also but missed it:
If you get given the game from someone who has paid, or buy it cheap, why should you not be able to purchase a licence to use the game (at the full price or just under the full price of the game)?
Which implies he thinks it's fair for SD to sell the License to such a user at full price, I was pointing out there is already that option.
I think you may have got your wires crossed. In the UK it has to be defective, not fit for purpose or not sold as described or not needed. Not agreeing to the terms and conditions has to be done at the point of purchase (unless it's being sold at a distance or there is a defined cooldown period (like for insurance).
You may be right, I may have got my wires crossed, it was only what I understood of the law and I am no expert. I am quite certain though that many EU
mad_axeman I for one would like the software industry to allow you to purchase a licence if you have been given the game (or bought it second hand). I realise that there would have to be certain safegaurds in place, but it's not impossible to do this.
A Sins license can be bought online, well at least that's how I bought mine.
So.... surely everyone should be getting their brassiers in a twist about the person selling it rather than the person who bought it. If you have a beef with anyone find the guy that sold it, but you cannot say "The EULA says this and that" when there IS NO WAY OF CHECKING THE EULA BEFORE YOU PURCHASE IT (people at Ironclad and Stardock take note of this).
Nobody has any beef with anyone I think mate. We are just poin

Unisin Before you start trying to paint Stardock in such a bad light perhaps you should consider what you would do as a software company in their position. If you suggest that they sell licence keys for anything less than full retail price then I think it's probably a good thing you don't take up a career in marketing.

Have you got any numbers to back up yor claims? As I'm having a hard time agreeing with what you are saying from my experience. From what I have seen it is as much if not more damage than the Kortul. It's siege platforms are superb. Disintegration is a little bit meh I agree but I still love the ship.
Besides, having any other cap plus two siege frigs gives you equal bombing power and a lot more utility.
That's also 28 more fleet supply!<

Re-iterrating what everyone else said really. It's a strategy that means that those waiting for the expansion don't miss out and at the same time they know the code isn't really mature enough to sell at release. We all win really, we get to play on the 18th despite it not being 100% ready and Ironclad don't take a shit load of slack on the forums from sociapathic ranting kids.

Well I've been playing with randoms using the matchmaking system and I've made several friends already that I play with regularly. I've put in well over 20 hours play on the demos 1.5 levels of the full games 20 levels. I'm not worried about the replayability other than what WarlokLord said about their being few enem
Well, Valve has expanded TF2 for free pretty considerably.. but whether or not they plan the same for Left 4 Dead remains to be seen. The demo is only actually 1.5 maps, as the second map is 1 map cut in half. I think there is 20 maps in the final game so playing through all of the maps is gonna take you a hell of a lot of hours to go through all of it once. The whole premise of the game though is how much it will be different each time you play as the 'AI Director' will change how intense it is being by how well you are doing and each time I play I get different combinations of bosses. The demo is available to the public now, you can download it through Steam. I've been playing it about a week now as I had it preordered and it is the most fun I've had gaming since playing the original Monkey Island games. Is anyone else playing it? I imagine modders and mappers are going to go nuts for it. And Valve is well know for improving their games for years to come so it's deffinately a game I'm going to adopt in a big way.
