USS Gambier Bay - Escort Carrier (aka light carrier) - Only US carrier to have been sunk by another ship. (Read that as, only US carrier to have been sunk by something other then bombs or torpedoes dropped by aircraft.) Though a battleship (The Yomato) did hit the carrier, what killed it? Three heavy cruisers that got in close and turned it to Swiss cheese. =] Awesome battle though. Has my favorite war quote of all time and several other aw
I'm cranky, I haven't slept in two days. ;P That aside, it's really not a harsh response, you're just taking it that way because it's saying you're wrong and you don't want to be. I understand, I don't like being wrong either... I thought I was wrong once, turns out I was mistaken. ;P The cost of an aircraft carrier today is way more then that of a battleship if they were still being built, the only time you can do a cost compari
Okay, then let me elaborate. Most games I play are with the intention of lasting a few hours at least, not quick and dirty and get it over with as fast as possible. In this case I have the time to ramp up an economy as do my enemies. Therefor we are able to push out more powerful ships as needed. Even in the quick games, if you're not making a lot of stupid or unnecessary choices it's fairly easy to ramp up an economy... (Unless you're Advent.) Your
If only 1 of 10 they you're doing something wrong or completely neglecting two entire aspects of the game called economy and research. Every single Dunov I build, if it doesn't earn it's own way up to level 6 or better, I buy it up to level 6. Same with all of my capital ships. It's dumb going to war underpowered if you can do something about it.
I'm more for increasing the HP/DPS end of it, cutting the cost wouldn't seem right for a capital. ;P
I wish pacts could because it would be really nice and the number one thing on my list to fix, but I'm reluctant to say yes. Edit: Oh, and about the Kols, I find them to be useful as roadblocks and speed bumps. When you have to slow an advancing fleet so you can assemble yours, sending in the battleships to soak up a lot of punishment buying you time can really help in a pinch. Probably more helpful on the bigger maps with more opponents when the pos
The multiplayer patch is just a patch that added in some things from the sins optimization project to improve online play speeds. Change log was posted a couple pages back. Normally I'd make some snarky insulting comment, but after being the star of the party last night I guess I'm just out of juice... Anyway, probably should link to it next time the OP is updated with the names. -=As posted by Carbon=- Current change log
Hah! =D
Maybe Harpo could add some pollen and make it smell like perfume when it burns instead of rotten stink.
Well you can get a lot of information about the mod from it's Wikia page . It's not fully comprehensive and probably wont be as long as the mod continues to be developed, but it's usually good enough for most people's questions. Specific differences can be deciphered from comparing that one to the <a title="SoaSE Wikia" href="https://www.sinsofasolarempire.wikia.com/wiki/

Three quick answers: In your start menu, Start > All Programs > Stardock Games > Sins of a Solar Empire > Sins of a Solar Empire If for whatever reason you don't have shortcuts on your start menu, you can always go folder diving for the executable. For example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Sins of a Solar Empire.exe Or if you're already in the game and not playing a modded ver

I champion crushing that myth. I will not stop until the work is done. Feel free to link to any of my posting on the subject to refute anyone posting about it being the fix. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/335474/page/137/#2670665 is a good one since it references all of my past commenting on it, as is the most recent one. Whaddup G? Saw that one but it's not the one I want. I'm probably just going to make it myself. T
I need a Dr. House De-Motivational poster to tell people that they're all idiots. Your efforts are admirable Carbon, but not good enough to destroy the LAA myth, I don't think he and everyone else thinking about doing it feel like they're idiots yet for even considering it. I'm just going to throw down some simple discussion points for everyone to consider. Learn to read. It's called Large Address Aware, not Use More RAM. Being aware,
If you understand them, then you don't need clarification, just further education to help you reach that Ah-Ha! moment. Beginning Further Education You've only considered part of the story or you'd already know the answer to your questions. I'm sure you realize that Sins preloads all of itself into your RAM before you even play, what you're not considering is that as you play and build up your fleet and planets, so are your alli
Wisdom and truth.
False truths. Destruction and creation don't really exist since matter itself can never be created nor destroyed. It merely changes from one form to the next. Creation and destruction are but perceptions of the fallible mind. The true god is that of change, all others are prophets, each holding a critical piece of the ritual of change. For one piece enables the other, and can never be alone, and should one succeed in eliminating the other, it erases change.&nbs
