Way too late I know but, attacking and protecting trade ships should be an important part of this game. I always play single player, but I feel this part of the game could be better fleshed out. Maybe you would have to assign escorts to follow and protect. Marine assault ships which could either board, or destroy( each would have a advantage). etc.

The team with the most money should have to pay the pirates MORE then the lesser teams. It should be based on a percentage of their total income, as it stands now if your winning money wise you have an advantage to begin with, plus you have extra cash to send pirates against the weaker teams. What if the pirates always attacked the team with the most money? It would add a strategy that is not there now.

Yeah..It strange that the devs made the most minute changes in patches to keep the game balanced. But the pirate problem seems to be using a shotgun when a scalpel is needed. The devs and publishers seem to have forgotten how the in the begining they kept us informed. Either a big announcement is coming or they are a victim of the economy.

What if you were able to set parameters that the enemy ai would follow? It would be like the Dragon Age Tactics screen. Except You would tell the AI what to do (pre game setting) in certain situations. These setting would carry over from game to game and can be tweaked like the tactics in Dragon Age can. capital ship>less than 20% health>flee gravity well you get the idea..............

[quote who="kyogre12" reply="49" id="2561350"] For whatever reason, this game appealed primarily to people who play single player or didn't appeal at all to the types of people who play online multiplayer. Even in the first few months after the game's release, the most people I ever saw online was 280. That very fact alone pretty much necessitated that online multiplayer Sins would die eventually. I think it's that far fewer people play RTS's online than most would imagine. Look at

[quote who="lbgsloan" reply="5" id="2559843"] Quoting Emplear, reply 2I having played with diplomatic Victory seems to be desinged purely for Human vs. Human (No AI) games I tend to agree with this. The AI doesn't appear to recongnize that the player is 20 points away from a Diplomatic Victory win, and will simply lose rather than declare war and try to stop you. While this behavior would make sense in a campaign, a skirmish is a multiplayer simulator; the AIs are suppos

I find it amazing that No one in the know, devs, publisher is able to give a straight answer to how Diplomacy deals with locked teams. If someone has stated the difference, I havent seen it. I always played locked teams, didnt mined the ai teaming up against me...it was a challenge. In a 1x1 game does Diplomacy even make sense? Diplomatic victory? No thanks...why am I building ships? To visit?

Change the Envoy so that it boosts relations only a little (just enough to get a cease fire when combied with the usual research and bribery). When you don't have to worry about the other faction blowing it up have the envoy deploy into a embassy which would increase relations even futher allowing for some of the more ad

[quote quoting="post"] Both alliances & cease fires need to be harder to break. A cease fire can be broken instantaneously and breaking an alliance requires what, a measly two minutes or so? Please. We need cease fires to have a 2-5 min warning time and alliances to be set at no less than ten minutes. Otherwise, we get the stupid current situations where it's so easy to abuse alliance breaking on the AI it's not even funny. You can basically get a cease fire go

Create a model for an orbital embassy, make it so you have to build them from your homeworld and extend them (daisy chain - like trade ports) to the races you want to have relations with. The diplomatic cruiser would travel between them like the trade ships do with trade ports. An enemy would have a target to destroy to weaken your diplomatic percentage with your allies or cause a current ally to declare war because your relations fell to a lower level.

I envision their cap ship would be a one of a kind beast, like a marza on steroids. Besides then you wouldnt need pirate HC's with 3x the hull points as their TEC counterpart.

Something that would take the combined strength of 3 fleets to take it down. Well how they get the blueprints for a super ship and how come none of the other races have super ships?? It's going to depend on how the AI or if the AI uses the pirates against you. If they can't create superweapons the small details of diplomacy will be lost on the ai. The pirates should have a capital ship that turns the shape of the war, it should be that fearsome. Something that would take the combined strength of 3 fleets to take it down. Also regarding tec money advantage with pirate raids, did anyone think that not every race should be able to do this, pirates would have so
