Three single player campaigns, similar to the three campaigns of Starcraft, Total Annihilation, Homeworld, or Supreme Commander. Each "level" of each campaign gets progressively more complicated and advanced, slowly marching the solo player through the tech tree, and introducing each subsequent new ship type and tech advances to help learn the capabilities of each ship in special circumstances that require the use of some specific aspect of

Some people myself included, have no desire to play online. I hear that the scarcity of online players means I'm in the majority. We just like to play .........with....um ..ourselves. [e digicons]:D[/e]
But do you put points towards something positive like 14 squads or HOPE you get to blow up your starbase as one last fu to your enemy?
If you are TEC you should just build 4 suicide starbases.... with core overload ability. then you can take out enemy fleets with just one SB. with the second lvl of self destruct the starbase can take down all ships except caps.
Is it me or sucide starbases are kind of defeatist? I wish TEC had another tech for their bases. Going down to the last bullet is better than mass suicide. But thats just me.
Starbases need to be able to construct their own shield generators in neutral wells, they are easily taken down because they have no backup. I guess though as far as stars are concerned, a tec starbase should be able to use reblenish on the other starbases that are nearby.
The bottom line is this. No one should be able to build 15 of these in every fleet you have and wipe out Starbases in a minute. I always pictured starbases as being something you might have to make mutiple passes at, or have to retreat and come back again. But to sit back a KNOW your cruisers are going to go thru the enemy bases quick is kind of a letdown. It appears some of us want to tear thru systems and some want to fight our way thru.
First off I play as TEC/ single player only so this isnt a pissed off Vasari, Advent player. Yes its a frigate.....but it does HEAVY damage at what it good at. Comparing them to real life nukes they are small, cause massive amounts of damage, but unlike nukes they are fairly cheap. They should never be affordable enough to have ten to a fleet, Maybe two or three max. Plus they should not shoot at ships at all and the missles themselves are to big. Keeping scale in a game is very impor
wbino, do you have any game software protected by SecuRom? Software from EA Games for example.
I have Crysis installed, thats EA.........why do you think there is a connection?
Thanks guys. It seemed to me that if I have a control group of mixed ships / not fleet / the carriers will know to stay at the edge of the well out of the way, but when a fleet with carriers they just follow the flagship. So in this instance it takes an extra micro in fleet mode to tell the carriers to go to the edge of a well.
Whats the difference between a control group or a fleet? I've been playing 6 months and still don't know.
A special ship that carries a fleet admiral ,if that ship is destroyed the entire fleet gets a penalty of some type. So the idea would be too hide the ship in a out of the way well and your enemy would have to find it. These ships would never be towards the front lines, always in the back. It would take maybe 5 to ten minutes to promote your new admiral.
The same way scout's autoexplore the galaxy, they should be able to be told to autoexplore a individual well. That way it goes about its business automaticly.
I have a 8800gtx, I installed a recent set of drivers and I get an error message that I've never seen before. Plus it not a 'windows' error, its tan with a big X in the middle, and I cant right click to find out what the hell it is. The message states --- Your software confiquration has changed you must reinstall the software---- With a yes or no at the bottom. If I click yes the screen will go blank and I must reboot in safe mode. If I say no it go away and all is fine, until t
Tech tree's that once you choose a path you cant go back.
Also mines shouldnt take over your empire tree. Should they be there at all?
When do Vasari and Advent get mines back? Only then will we see the true optimization.
I thought it would be Kool (get it) every time you upgraded the Kol and Starbase beam that it should change colors. Base power would be the current color, then maybe a brite red, last would be a super hot white.......
Ditto You could have a race that has NO capitals just frigates. Or tiny swarming ships smaller than most frigates but larger than bombers.
>>>Starbases are useless when the situation changes! (except, to some extent, Vasari) As if you built a mighty fortress near one phase lane junction, then conquered the world down the line, you should be able to re-purpose the station as a economic or administrative node, or move it to another phase lane junction. I can't in good conscience agree with this at all. You don't build up a mighty fortress and max out the upgrades if
Well the capitals are not heavily affected by this change. The primary weapon (Kol's beams, for example) still just hits one target only. I haven't actually converted the new files to see if capitals' secondary/tertiary banks have additional targets, though.
I've seen the Kol hitting 3 targets at once.

Maybe torpedo cruisers should not have a range advantage versus Starbases.....they SHOULD be fodder and should only get a lucky shot in every once in a while. Or slow down their rate of fire so much so that an opponet has time to react and counter. BTW who's driving the TEC torpedo cruiser? I don't see a cockpit anywhere, is it robotic? Anyone know?
How about a weapons depot that they had to go back to after 8 salvo's?
And please make the missiles smaller......
If they can't/arent damaging my ships they should not be firing.
