dear lord have mercy that is a massive map. I tried to do a "Freelancer" universe map for 7 Deadly Sins (lots of Rogue Stars for 'solar systems') and it was just freaking huge, but not as big as your map. I tried to cut out sectors for smaller maps, but GF3 kept having hissy fits and dumping.

well, 7DS got the dark fleet in story-wise by refugee vasari scientists working for TCA to develop phase gate technology for them (like WW2 when Japanese/German Scientists were working/slaved to usa and russia). Vasari turned it on and it drew in thousands of Dark Fleet ships from their phase pockets. Still think it's the Arnor/Dread Lords.
