what always gets me is the holier-than-thou attitude of people who have done something on the net for free. they ran a server for free. they let people dl files for free. they streamed this or that for free. so what? open a restaurant and give the food away for free, and i'll be happy to write a letter to the pope asking for your sainthood. until then, put it in perspective.

i already use both. my old imac is running osx and our pc is running xp. people will go on about how macs crash, but that's os9. osx doesn't crash. mine has -never- crashed in over a year. and i do some pretty funky stuff with it, digging around in the system, fiddling with things, messing with the terminal [the command line.] my copy of ie crashes.. but never the os <img src="http://images.s

with a wallpaper, no. we try to only put on the best stuff, since wallpapers are such a high upload item [for one thing.] with other skins, yes. it might get a low rating, but as long as it works and it doesn't break any 'rules' we'll generally put it up.

ok, yeah the mod rating counts as one. also, if the posting author has high enough access the skin gets upped automatically. now, in that case.. hmm.. not sure if that gets counted or not..

paxx: most weren't making money anyway.. i used to be a dj. not only do radio station not have to pay the per play royalty, they don't have to pay it per capita. -that- requirement is just preposterous. the -only- reason it's in there is because it can be.. radio has no way of determining exactly how many listeners they have, but the net streamers do - so they use it against them. the rules should be the same for radio and net radio. this is one rare case where the oh-so-p

on the contrary bryan, i think people are reading and enjoying have you considered getting published? i think the image of yum, combined with the short story, would be -perfect- for one of the little two-pagers they have in heavy metal. check out their submission guidelines at: http://www.metaltv.com/page.cfm?id=352

hahaha.. i don't know paul, some of gaudi's stuff is pretty neat. of course, i'm a big hp lovecraft fan. i don't know if i'd really want to live in it though.. kind of like some of roger dean's arch. stuff, it's cool to see but i really wouldn't want to live in it.

sigh.. i knew it was coming though. i told everyone i could, but i know public opinion makes very little difference in an issue like this. i can't imagine how even a company like 365 [which i'm listening to know.. chronix] can begin to pay the back due. they've basically just put all these people in bankruptcy.

there are so many awesome talents around here, along with those whose work isn't here but whose memories are. i think the best use of a thread like this is to tell the newcomers about some of the old master's we haven't seen in a while. hopefully they'll search them out. misery is mentioned above, but he's mostly known now as deaddreamer. he has a fantastic site: http://www.deaddreamer.com/ also, you must visit precursor at: http://www.endeffect.com/ as far

the thread is suddenly too much for my browser window to contain.. i fear i've invoked the wrath of the great old ones!!!

aafuss.. regardless of what they might have told you, those sites don't have the right to give you permission to use windows icons. no matter what they've said, you can't use windows icons. the only people that can give you permission are microsoft's copyright lawyers. here.. http://www.impactsoft.com/default.htm
