not sure what you mean starone.. still getting downloads? for sections or specific skins? sections don't have download counts, and the specific skins would still get dl'd since the skins weren't erased, but rather the sections combined.. is this what you mean? thanks

sounds like a problem specifically with the nvidia desktop manager.. try altering the order in which the two start up.
right.. and this would be one source of perceived inconsistency. the admins and wizops are deciding daily what gets posted and what doesn't. sometimes i'm sure the choices may seem inconsistent, but really it's due to this issue and the confluence of zeitgeist and grey area. in other words, one admin on one day may see things that fall in the grey area one way, and another admin at another time may see something similar in the grey area a different way. if one works in the grey area,
the part of sylva is now being played by sherilyn fenn.. i think this is headed straight for showtime late night..
"to drive your enemies before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!" oh.. wait, i guess that doesn't apply..

i guess i'm curious why some have the impression that people are giving undeservedly low ratings. are there some specific examples? and how do you know? also, virtually everything should have at least one rating. i personally rated the entire back catalogue when wc went online. every skin. (i stand behind every last one, by the way) and when a new submission is put online, it gets rated. if you've found any zeroes, please point them out to me <img src="http://images.stardock.com/i
chad!!! good to see you.. well, not see but read. thinking about getting some skins going again?
hi adni in your list of people's opinions, mine is taken out of context. i am in favor of the ratings. i just don't think the -artists- should pay attention to them. i -do- think the downloaders should pay attention to them. i realize it's easy to get discouraged. an artist -must- be able to look at critiques and take what they can from them. a critique is like a salad bar. you take what yo
i wonder though if your time may have been better spent trying to invent a device to deliver high-voltage ip-targeted electric shocks through the internet... nah.. good job paul!
feline.. that would be excellent, if you're willing clarke is just one of those that i never got to. of course, after reading heinlein's valentine i wish i'd just read clarke instead ;]
right.. what's all this then? you lot! clear off!
a great guide for what is and isn't permissible, as well as the basic steps of protecting yourself.
having not read the book, here's my take on the meaning of 2001's final sequence: dave enters a physical manifestation of a convergence of realities. he travels through the underpinning structure of existence and becomes a 5 dimensional being. we, as 4 dimensional beings, have no concept of what the 5th dimension could be, but he is now able to travel through the first 4 in the same way we travel through the first 3. fyi: 1- length 2- width 3- breadth 4- time<
it's really quite simple. the comments exist for the benefit of the skin author, as a place for feedback on their work. the ratings exist for the benefit of the downloaders. as an artist, this has a huge benefit. when getting feedback about your work, in hopes of improving what you do, or to find out what it is you're doing right, quantitative numbers are the worst information. forcing a person to tie a rating and a comment together would do several things, in my opinion: -
they have great mouseovers, and the response time is great when you click the buttons. personally, i prefer ones that take up as many megabytes as possible..
ahhh... alles klar, herr komisar.. many apologies most gracious one..
hey tandis, long time no see well, a bevy of interesting points and counterpoints here. yes, i agree that stealing a copy of something and plagiarizing something are two very different things. they are just both bad, as others above have said whether an individual sees one or the other as worse must depend
hahaha.. i've seen cane toads on steve irwin's show. actually, i'm sorry to say that here in the states the merchandising for lord of the rings was fairly merciless. they had light up plastic 'goblets' at burger king, as well as little toys of the characters. sam gamgee should feel insulted.. his toy's special 'action' was moving a pan around over a plastic fire. i'll have to say thou
hmm, jafo.. no, i must say i really like farscape. also, being possesed of some formal film criticism training, i must say george lucas in general and the star wars saga specifically have quite a lot going on. of course, if it's just a matter of preference, that's completely understandable marketing tie-
amber as a mini series?!!!! wow! now that's news. very cool. also extremely excited to hear about the red dwarf movie now if they'd only make movies of 'land of the lost' and blake's 7. they've just started re-running the first season of farscape, and my wife and i are -really- getting into it.
bra size. hehe.. humor via pretending to be boorish
it still shouldn't be running -that- slow make sure you update your video drivers to the latest versions available. this goes for on-board as well as cards. if all the above still don't improve your performance, use the process of elimination. set everything you have to -not- load on startup, then reboot. shut off everything you can in your system tray. then pop on windowblinds and see if you'
best movie i've seen in a long time. how would you have changed the ending?
oh, and yeah, we dejectedly watched the departure of steve from blue's clues the other night as well. i don't know, maybe we're dorks, but we watched this modern kid's show icon depart with a mixture of genuine sadness, a bit of confusion and even some armchair re-writing of how it was done. we found on the net that he wasn't happy with the direction the show was taking, mostly regarding the heavy marketing. our 8 year old was sad to see this part of his life go, but i think our 2 year old ac
