i had all the vehicles and sets from the first series of toys for star wars. even the milenium falcon and the deathstar. the falcon is still mightily impressive 25 years later. also.. i was such an anal retentive kid i even kept all the boxes. to my later horror, i once sacrificed the -millenium falcon- box to wrap a christmas present for my mom and dad when i was 11. it was a wooden shelf project i'd made in shop class, and had to cut the box up to do it. when i was in my 20's my mom unt

hmm.. if you visit the original ms site though, the last q&a question says it's fine to upgrade the os after you've bought it because you then 'own the machine and the software.' although this is obvious, it refutes the idea of not being able to change the os. if you own it, you can certainly format-c it.
jcg:: excellent points up there. debate wears me out sometimes, as i often end up discovering some person or other simply won't listen to evidence or facts that don't support their opinion. this is just savagely rampant in society, and it's unfortunate. there is that rare time when someone's opinion becomes enlightened [including mine] and that keeps me coming back. the main thing that drives me to abject frustration in a debate [or a discussion, for that matter] is jcg's point numbe
fall :] they are all wonderful though. i'm very much a naturally focused person, and the change, progress and appreciation of the seasons is incredibly important to me.

fantasy geek.. hehe
paxx.. in some ways i see just what you're talking about. it's like when i was 27 and these two 19 yr. old friends got an apt. together for college. i was over one day, and they had just gotten back from this huge shopping trip to rig out their place. i was already grinning and shaking my head as i imagined their reaction to their bills a few weeks down the road. then, as i sat down before their new 25 in. tv, they informed me "we went in on the tv together - half and half!" (smiles all arou
looks pretty cool.. i'm sure it's heavily animated and alpha'd though. i'm sure it could be done, but would need a dx theme to accompany it to really get the effect.
hi you've downloaded a cursor pack intended for the program 'cursor xp.' it's a different program from iconpackager. to download a trial copy of cursor xp, visit www.cursorxp.com
interesting.. basically my comments are about the whole issue of moral relativism. for example, when you say "that's also true Brad, but in the end who knows, the net is very vast right? Porn sites have their own crowd too..." are you saying the fact that some people like it makes it okay? i can see you might also mean merely that regardless of the behavior or tone, some will like it. that's quite true, though most people will tend to avoid impolite behavior unless they feel they are part of
oh, i'm not saying it would ever change. there's absolutely no way to change something like that, and i wouldn't want to. they have every right to say what they'd like. but that doesn't mean it's ok i mean.. i could tell my neighbor he has b.o. and i could mention it in conversations around the neighborhood. but it wouldn't be cool to do that. and.. i should expect to hear something from my neighbor
uh.. not really. some strokes just shouldn't be taken. it's not right to excuse inappropriate behavior by simply saying it's 'different.' it's simply not true that all things are ok, just in their own way. some things are wrong. old custo / new custo .. two totally different things.
well.. i wouldn't call this linux bashing, and i hope nobody takes it that way. linux, for good or ill, will always be a fringe os. it really has no hope of going mainstream. that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve some attention and support, but sections devoted to linus' little baby just wouldn't get much play. for the curious among us.. if there was such a place as lincustomize, what would be listed under the 'library' section to the left?
listen to grayhaze..
as it says in the article, the only problem is web browsers on osx. it's not a big difference, but since i also have xp on another machine just upstairs i do notice it with some larger pages. it's an issue of not actually being x native. it's been -quite- a while since ms updated internet explorer for osx, and despite what ms says the next version of ie should correct it.
from the main menu, click on mmx-mercury. then click one of the icon sets at the bottom. then click 'windows xp' in the main window. this will begin the .zip download.
i think they're fabulous.. an excellent update and expansion to their originals. i don't understand, however, the limited backlash against detailed 32bit icons. i saw the debate first when os ten debuted, and some complained they were no longer icons, but pictures. i think this is rediculous. many like to hang on to old ways of doing things.. i guess i could be typing this on my old atari 800 or a c64.. but i'm not. regarding the art of iconography, it seems odd for an a
twerp.. most definitely :] grayhaze :: wow.. that's nuts. it's hard to believe somebody would get so worked up about it to actually send you something like that. twisted
woohoo! 600 hmm.. kind of unsatisfying.. the thread didn't take nearly as long to load as i thought though.. rock on brother beavis!
yep, listen to jafo even though it's only on your own site, it's still a public forum. there are numerous cases where this happened in a wide variety of fields. for example, years ago a furniture store owner in denver [jake jabs] mocked up a little E.T. look-alike and had it sitting on a bed during a tv commercial. he usually used various exotic animals, but not this time. well.. stephen spielb
i wonder how many humorous/disturbing search requests result in wc popping up.. ala http://searchrequests.weblogs.com/ might be amusing to post some [warning.. the url above contains some search requests from people who were looking, rather bluntly, for prurient material.. on the internet?! no... surely not...]
happy birthday! :]
what's really amazing and hilarious to me is that ozzy and his wife actually -want- this to be on tv.. and are willing to accomodate whatever inconvenience to do it.. hehe
paul, i know we have a mutual appreciation for the silmarillion. how about some detailed portraits of characters, places and things from the book as icons?
just to add to what jafo and davidk said, it also hopefully boosts the overall perceived quality of the material available on the site, especially to new users, thereby improving the user experience. it's like a first impression of a store or a pub or someplace. if you walk in and it looks like a dive, you're not likely to stick around and get to know the place. if you walk in and you're floored, you'll tend to stick around to get to know all the nooks and crannies that may not have been appa
