The 25% damage decrease for 60 seconds after a jump really isn't much of a nerf at all. In other news, Wail of the Sacrifice (which should probably be completely removed from the game) wasn't nerfed either.
1) How active is the online community and on what days are they MOST active?
The activity is pretty much restricted to the Rebellion game server. The most active times are during the North American gaming times, say from 1 pm to Midnight U.S. Eastern Standard Time. There is also activity outside of that time, say between 10 am-1 pm U.S. EST and Midnight-3 am U.S. EST but it won't be as heavy. Honestly, for various reasons this game
If you can't find anyone who wants to play the mod online, have you considered just playing the standard game in online multiplayer PvP?
No nerf for Wail of the Sacrificed.
It's hard to have a clan scene when 99.5% of all players only play it offline in single and when more than half of the people online only play comp stomps.
So ironic that most will happily waste 15 minutes squabbling, afk-ing, or trolling in the game lobby before a game can actually get under way, but take a minute or two to download a map? Nooooo thank you!
...and this is the state of online multiplayer gaming today. I remember playing Unreal Tournament (UT99) back in 2002 over a dial-up modem and waiting to download 3 MB map files. I even figured out what maps were

It's great if it works and allows you to kill an opponent so that you can use his planets' logistic slots. However, if he lasts into the late game, your economy might suffer since you'll be left with dead r
My advice would be to limit yourself to one or two cap ships and to focus on making a large and powerful fleet. The problem with capital ships in online multiplayer PvP is that human players will focus-fire them to death. They'll probably take down your titan, too. As a new guy, you want to focus on learning how to expand quickly and how to make a large fleet ASAP that's designed to counter what your opponent is doing. Also, keep your capital ship(s) out
You could link one of the star systems to the sun--and ships could travel from that sun to the other suns, but if those other suns aren't linked to anything, it would be kind of silly to jump from the stars. What Harpo said is the way to do it. All of that having been said, if your goal is to make a map that will be played in online multiplayer PvP ("real Sins games"), don't bother. Most people who play PvP would prefer to play on single star maps and/or wouldn'
To an extent, it's kind of like a chicken-and-the-egg situation or a Catch-22. The devs don't feel a need to invest time and effort in improving online multiplayer because so few people play the game online--and as a result fewer people play the game online. However, it's hard to blame the devs; this game just never appealed to an online multiplayer crowd. It always appealed more to a 4x offline single player crowd. As far as I know, most people who play RT
Regarding bomber spam--you're probably going to want to run your carriers around the perimeter and keep them away from combat if you can. As with anything, bomber spam can be countered, especially by a defending Vasari (phasic trap ability on hangers). The standard settings for an online multiplayer PvP game (no AI) are: Locked Teams Normal Fleet size Pirates Off Quickstart on Faster for all speed settings.

I don't know if they prefer to play Starcraft or if they're just afraid of playing against other people who they don't know or if they think it will take too long to play online.
I kind of like jumping starbase, dont nerf em. Buff em. Since orkies have to spend 7 upgrades on weapons/defense its not OP. Just use bombers on them if you dont like them.
The problem is that they consume zero fleet supply, which means zero permanent tax.
I don't have much time to play anymore.
culture in general isn't OP, but AL culture, now that is ridiculous...I mean, how do you counter it?
This has to be a joke, right? The best way to counter enemy culture--Advent or otherwise, is to (1) build some of your own culture, and (2) destroy the other guy's culture stations.
Or even make a new forum section specifically for replays...just a way to find them all in one place might encourage more people to post them as well.
I like that idea.
A replay thread is a good idea, but it really needs to get stickied. Otherwise it drops down and people forget all about it (and lose interest in posting replays).
Uh Rebellion is $40, actually still $30 if you registered your original Sins game and order from this website. You only need to get Rebellion, the other expansions don't matter and are probably dead to multiplayer.
I had thought that Diplomacy was pretty dead, too. But then I logged on two weekends ago and saw 110+ people online for it. So, it might be viable on weekends.

For context, it should be noted that Rebellion already had a built-in audience of prior Sins fans. Also, the game is not doing particularly well for online multiplayer in terms of player counts. (Anything less than 1000 players online at any given time for a major title is probably a failure.) Make no mistake; I'm a fan of the game and of Stardock and Ironclad, and I hate to be a Debbie downer, but I call it like I see it. That having been said, I hope that this pr
Was the kicking justified?
IMHO, Wail of the Sacrificed is cheating (in PvP games) because it is so severely overpowered and contradicts what the game is about. TEC starbase red button is a powerful ability too--but that can be avoided and it only affects a portion of a gravity well. Some titans have overpowered abilities--but you can run away from them if necessary. The Marza missile barrage is powerful--but you can run from the Marza or find a way to kill or disable it. In contrast, Wail a
