It's possible add larger-sized militias to individual planets. Some of my maps feature planets like that.
Custom maps can be designed that don't have a pirate base at all
The only Diplomacy action is comp stomps. That's too bad because Diplomacy is better than Rebellion for online multiplayer, IMHO.
Ban all Rebels and Play only Loyalists. Hang, Draw and Quarter. It is treson to be rebel. God Save the Queen.
Vasari Loyalists >>> TEC and Advent Loyalists. You'd have to ban all Vasari. What about my idea of just going back to Diplomacy?
How about we all just play TEC Loyalist and call it a day.
...or go back to the Diplomacy expansion, which was pretty well balanced.
Interestingly, if online player counts are any indication, the game isn't very popular right now, and poor racial balance may be a significant contributing factor.
This would be a great option. Any kind of auto-search would be a good addition but the time was at Rebellion release when online numbers were high and there was more potential to retain and bring in more players.
Sins has never had a high player count nor even a medium player count. 300 people online at once is low for an online multiplayer game, at least one that's at all successful. Heavy cruisers will also go down to wail if a planet is involved. As far as I know, Wail doesn't have to go through shield mitigation and might not be affected by armor.
If an AI could be developed that could mimic human players, that would be great. No more having to wait for a game and you could play whatever map you wanted with whatever settings you wanted anytime you wanted and pause whenever you wanted. Unfortunately, that's just a fantasy because right now and for the foreseeable future the AI isn't going to compare to the challenge of playing real people.
Was excited to play a Sins where the A.I. was not staight up retarded. To my dismay, last night, the A.I. in rebellion did the same thing it has always done. Leaves a capital ship in my gravity well to die when it has no hope of inflicting any damage at all. It can't be that hard to tell an A.I. capital ship to flee at 50% health unless it's target is at 20% health.
How much do you expect out of AI? It's jus
Why do you characterize debate as "crying"? Do you say that every time someone engages you in a political debate?
Any chance of a nerf for Wail? Vasari jumping starbases probably need a big nerf of some sort.
It's hard to avoid and Wail if you are trying to defend and can be used offensively to take down a fleet that's defending a planet. It could also be used to knock down a guy who is trying to defend in against a 1v2 and thus can't possibly counter it. Watch out Blackhawk! Greg thinks it's a great ability and that there's no problem with it. He'll accuse you of whining if he hears you complaining about it.
I didn't know about the mod, thx. Yes, Wail can be countered, but the counters are pretty weak unless you are late game TEC. Regardless, it's severely overpowered and has no place in the game. Losing your entire fleet at your own planet you're defending without an actual fleet to fleet fight has no place in the game. (Interestingly, the original Kostura was nerfed for that reason.) Would you mind linking to the mod? I found the Reb Optimizatio
Could you imagine what this game would be like if it had been developed properly--dual core + race balance without ridiculously overpowered abilities? It's probably time for a $10 price drop or a big Steam sale.
Should Advent Rebel be banned from the game just like VR? Wail of the Sacrificed does not belong in this game. That ability should be eliminated and replaced with something else. They also have that overpowered titan. An AR with wail can easily take down a player who's fight a 1v2 since there's be no way he could counter. What this game might need is a "competition mod" that would balance the races. Anyone who plays in the 5v5s would get the mod.&

Our nation's economy, at least for the lower 50%, has fallen off a cliff into a cesspool of student loan debt, foreclosures, and a lack of health and dental benefits. I've played Sins extensively, and while I do really enjoy the additions Rebellion made to the base game, I can't afford to slap down the money for such an overpriced expansion.
You wouldn't be buying if for the content. Feedback -- the game needs online multiplayer auto-download for Galaxy Forge-made maps.

Well Missile Barrage, Meteor Storm and Red Button have been doing that, well, since the beginning of Sins.
You can avoid a Marza while still being able to defend/attack territory and Marzas can have their abilities interrupted/disabled.
Dirty - that argument could be used to justify removing Vasari phase stabilizer jumping - it ignores all the rules of the game in having to jump from 1 well to another in a row and breaks "rules" of mobility the other factions are stuck with. It allows them to ignore any static defenses/front line positions and jump instantly behind the front lines. This affects the gameplay 100X more than Wail and has been in the game for much longer. It just got

I'm still of the mind that terran/desert planets when sacrificed should still kill almost a whole enemy fleet.
Wail doesn't belong in the game at all because it contradicts the entire point of the game--defending and attacking certain positions, building a fleet and winning fleet battles while dealing with static defenses. When you play against AI, it's like your opponent is retarded. At best, without eco cheat buffs the AI will be merely annoying. It just isn't capable of determining how to deal with starbases and titans nor how to use them properly. That's why you should try it online against human players--"the real Sins game".
