Note that it is possible to assign running processes to certain individual CPU cores. So you could assign Sins to its very own core, which is what I do for my dual core CPU. I set the other programs, as many as I can, to the other core. You should be able to do this from the task manager by looking at processes and then right clicking on each individual process.

I have no idea what the Japanese gamers are playing. Maybe they enjoy console gaming or watch a lot of anime?

Yay. I'll have to get in on this now that we're closer to the eventual release. Thanks Ironclad and Stardock. How will the game be available to those who preorder with this discount? Will it come via Impulse? Will it be available via Steam? Or will it be available directly from Stardock? (I'm sure this has been answered before, but it would be good to hear it again for those of us like me who have a short memory.) Will those of u

I hope they don't issue a firm release date. I don't want them to feel pressured to paint themselves into a corner. However, as a practical matter, there are marketing pressures that might make it better to get the game out before the Christmas release rush.

Do you really think the two expansions were pointless? At the very least, Entrenchment wasn't pointless and added a lot to the game. The single player types might argue that Diplomacy was worthwhile.

If your interest is role playing, you're really playing the wrong game. Try the original Neverwinter Nights with its expansions. It's really more of what you're looking for: http://arelith.com/ http://www.amiaworld.net/ http://highergroundpoa.proboards.com

One issue for Stardock/Ironclad might be a concern that people might be able to purchase Trinity on sale for, say, $10 or $15 and then get the discount. If they could figure out to a way to discriminate between newcomers and people who purchased the original Sins game back in 2008, then they could offer Rebellion to us for $25.

Same. TBS's are just too boring and micromanagement intensive for me now, and they make playing online multiplayer either impossible or difficult. When you get bored playing against the silly AI, your options for playing real opponents are thus kind of limited.

Unfortunately, this game just doesn't have enough people playing it online to really make mods viable. For some reason, 99.5% of all Sins buyers only play the game offline in single player against AI. It never attracted the online multiplayer PvP crowd. So, if you want to play real Sins games (no AIs) your only option is pretty much the mod-free Diplomacy game on the Diplomacy expansion. The game is awesome though, so it's worth playing as is. It is pos

Do you have the Diplomacy expansion? The Vanilla and Entrenchment servers are pretty dead and pretty much all you'll find there are closed groups of friends playing comp stomps. The real action is on the Diplomacy expansion server, which is separate from the Vanilla/Entrenchment server. Best times are probably 2 pm - 10 pm U.S. Eastern time. The weekends are better than weekdays.

I just wish there were some sort of a discount for loyal fans who've purchased both expansions and who have been with the game since 2008.

That idea sounds overpowered. There are better ways to help the Advent. Return the Progenitor colonization bonus back to 20-40-60%. Now that Illuminators have been fixed (effectively nerfed), lower the military lab requirement down to two. That should go a long way towards helping the Advent become more competitive with Vasari and TEC.

I think you'll be very disappointed when you discover that online multiplayer for "Vanilla" Sins and even Entrenchment is completely dead. The action is on the separate Diplomacy expansion server.

Pro players can take down those AIs, but the only way to get to that skill level is to play online multiplayer against real human opponents ("the real Sins game"). If you're at the point where you can easily manhandle the Hard level AI and beat the Unfair level AI with few problems, then you might be ready to advance to online multiplayer PvP.

What's really pathetic is that there are lots of comp stompers who have been playing for several months or even years who are terrified of trying out a real game. They generally won't talk to or interact with other people in the Lobby and just wait for their comp stomping buddies to come along. It's understandable that groups of guys who just pulled the game out of the box might want to comp stomp, but not for people who've been playing consistently for two or thre
