The AI doesn't do much of anything very efficiently or very well. It is pretty good at suiciding itself on starbases.
Who dat? Do you use a different name on Ironclad Online? Anyhoo, welcome back.
What PC specs do you play with on ICO?
I'm on a rig that I designed in 2005 (parts ordered) and assembled in late January 2006. CPU: AMD Opteron 185 (dual core CPU overclocked to 2.8 Ghz from 2.6 standard) Mobo: Epox +9npa Ultra (nForce 4 mobo) RAM: 3 GB of DDR 400 GPU: nVidia 8800 GT Of course, I'd love to have a more powerful quad core or octacore, etc
Unfortunately, when you're designing a game, you can't do it with the intention that only 5% of all PC owners will have the power needed to be able to play it, especially in the midst of an economic depression. (Not everyone is rich and can afford a fancy-schmancy new 8 core computer and not everyone knows or has the where-with-all to order parts inexpensively from Newegg and build their own 8 core rig.). Instead, you would hope that any computer with a lowly dual core CPU
It seems like the overwhelming majority of games that are open to the general public are for PvP and not against AI (which personally suits me just fine), and that most of the comp stomps are played amongst closed groups of friends. So, if you really want to comp stomp what you might consider doing is (1) hosting your own comp stomp game with a title like "all welcome vs AI" or (2) joining game channels for private comp stomps and asking the people nicely if you can join them against th
Maybe they could program it so that it's smart enough to handle two differently sized monitors?
Imagine if, in Rebellion, every player starts out with a free Titan instead of a free capital ship.
Yea, we've been pushing the date back as needed. Basically, someone at Stardock or Ironclad comes up with a cool idea and once accepted we calculate the time needed and push back the date. I'd love to see the empire tree get reworked, including a toggle button to make it full screen for large battles. (Suppose there are big fleets and I want to order all ships to focus fire on a certain enemy capital ship--it would be easier to find if I could make the empire tree full screen with a simple click.) The best thing would be a dual monitor option where I could just move the empire tree to a second monitor and let it occupy the entire screen.
IMHO Sins >>> Starcraft. Unfortunately, most of the online multiplayer PvP RTS crowd doesn't seem to know about Sins. It's a hidden gem IMHO.
I'm hoping that they'll come to their senses and reward loyal fans who've purchased all of the previous content, at least accounts that have been around since before the Diplomacy expansion, by making it $25.
Note that you'll have to load the original Sins of a Solar Empire---SinsofaSolarEmpire.exe (aka "Vanilla") unless your friend has the expansions.
For those who are familiar with Unreal Tournament and Epic Games, all I can say is: "Two weeks!"
Is King of Kings/Sire still in the clan or not?
Poor Kittyranger. Now that there are lots of newer people, he's no longer around.
As reported by Mecha-Lenin in another post, the Diplomacy server is currently down. However, I was able to log on to the Vanilla/Entrenchment server.
Details please.
Desyncs are very rare now. In fact, it's been a long time since I've seen it happen.
Oh come now. The User Interface isn't perfect and there's plenty of room for improvement, but it's not bad. It's much better than some of the consolized UI drek that we've seen in console ports.
If you guys are really having a problem, try logging onto Ironclad Online (the "Ironclad Online") button and just play over ICO.

Make sure that your game says "Diplomacy v1.34" in the bottom right corner so that you know you've loaded up Diplomacy and not Vanilla or Entrenchment.
I am pleased to announced that Steam just created a forum dedicated to Sins at the Steam forums. Many of the new purchasers will be posting there. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=1277 Since I'm a windbag and online multiplayer PvP's biggest cheerleader, I started writing a new player's guide: <a href="http://forums.steampowered.com/foru
