Does it count if my cat sits on the monitor and tells me how to play? He's too important to stoop to actually pushing the buttons himself.

I agree, I really don't like podcasts. I wanted to hear about the Elemental stuff specifically, and 15 minutes later they're still talking about Demigod.
For the demo, I hope it's got some matchmaking logic. It would be bad to take a newbie trying the demo and put them into a game against 5 super experienced players. That would NOT be fun, at all.
Does opening port 6112 to 6200 invovle using the file : impulsereactoroptions.exe in demigod directory?
I hope not. It should just send a request on the port, and if it gets a reply it's got a direct connection (or a forwarded port). So it should just require setting up the router ports, and maybe flicking an option in the UI (but probably not). I really think my conneciton issues are related to it trying to do #2 and
For teamwork purposes, you do want to know your fellow Demigod's status (i.e. do they need to be healed/protected in some way). So for me, it is a big deal, if you want the whole teamwork idea to work better. Not really. You only want to know the status of the Demigod that's nearby, which means your camera is already centered there and you can see how much, if anything, is hitting it and you can either toggle health ba
Your best bet is to email and explain to them what you want to do. They should be able to point you in the right direction. :)
If it's not prompting you for some reason, run Impulse, and go to "My Games". Once it logs in, it should show a Demigod update. I believe Impulse is installed for you if you have a retail (DVD) version of the game. If you have a download copy, Impulse is what you used to download it.
Uh, I doubt you realize that you just equated pirates with super villains like the Joker? They commit crimes for the purpose of getting away with it? I like to think that's not what you meant. Yeah, dude, I don't speed to get places faster, I do it because it's illegal. Maybe teenagers of alcoholic mothers are like that.
WTF? You're reaching pretty far now. People download games bec
I honestly doesnt believe pirating is such a big issue, people who download and don´t buy the game wouldnt have bought the game anyway. 1. We have some LAN Partys ever so often (about every month or so) and some of the guys don't really like games like demigod (they usually play call of duty 4). What does stardock feel about using one license only in the lan party session to play with about 10 other guys? (I kn
Hey guys, calm down. This is a misunderstanding, not an Internet jihad against Stardock/RYG/whoever. Going completely insane on them like this is not helpful when simply pointing out why the page in question is wrong would be a lot more effective.
Goo I think would be DRM, but its an optional thing. Nothing Stardock has put out uses it, including Demigod.
They seem to take it to the extreme, yeah. I mean, I registered my new fridge to get the warranty started, but I don't think my fridge uses DRM. :P The issue I think is how they define DRM is different then how most people do. I mean, almost nobody would claim WoW uses DRM, but by their definition it does. Likewise with Demigod, I don't consider it DRM (the program doesn't do any checking of its own validity, the pirate version is effectively identical to the release re
If you're buying through Impulse, I'd create an Impulse account first. Then buy with that. It should activate pretty much immediately.
They weren't, directly. They were just creating traffic with things like a version check on startup and attempted (and failing) validation that was bringing down the servers through collateral damage. That problem has been fixed now. The current connection problems are unrelated, and don't affect everybody. But for those who they do affect (like me), they're pretty frustrating. Hopefully todays update will solve that.
Why is it that every time I see doubledigit in a thread, I also see rampant name calling? What is this, the WoW forums?
Looking forward to it!
The manual (page 15): also states: LAN Games Players can also play on their local area network (LAN). Demigod has no restriction on licensed copies on the LAN so go ahead and have fun!
Well, there you go! [e digicons][/e]
3. Any chance we might get a LANish type add-on client? If you recall, with Starcraft, and I think some of the original Warcraft games, you could install a "LAN-version only" that would only work properly if the "main copy" was running on your home lan. You could join multiplayer games, but only X copies of the LAN version would work. I am a big gamer, but my fiance isn't one so much (she'll play the occasional game). Also, I have friends over so
Favor points are probably your #1 issue if the connection stuff works for you. However other people can't play at all. What's worse? Favor points, or not being able to play the game? It's clear which of these problems is the real priority.
Interesting update. I'm still not clear on exactly what the NAT facilitator is doing in a case where ports have been manually opened. In that case, why is a facilitator required at all? If the ports are all opened and forwarded to the right place, the other player should be able to connect to me directly. Maybe it's a silly question, I don't know because I can't see the code. But if I put myself in the DMZ, why do I need to talk to the facilitator at all anymore? Looking in th

This seems like a strange way of encouraging them. A full port is never going to happe
Given the number of people who can't play at all due to connection problems, *everything* else is low priority.
