,and that would be under View/Layout,then make sure to un-check the pre-view pane box.Very good advice.
Martin:"Bump" means that the thread is sinking without much response. To "Bump" it brings it to the top so maybe someone in the know might see it and respond.
Are you sure you have "View Pre-Released Versions" checked? It is under the "View" tab in SDC.With that option checked then go to Tools/Refresh Application Data. Also make sure you are using the most current version of SDC.I hope you get it working. There has also been some maintenance going on here of late,,maybe connected. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered
Go to view tab and make sure show pre-released versions, then Tools/Refresh application data.Hope this helps.
OC:WinStyles is killing CursorXP for me,whats it doing to you?
jark,Be sure to go to Tools/Refresh Application Data ,Seemed to work for some.I used Componet Mnager and it pointed WB to a different File location than SDC.
You Rock Z71.It is always a great surprise to click on "Refresh Site Updates" and see something new from you.I think it would be a good idea for someone with your skill to get money.Be sure to put a Pay-Pal donation link on your site. Thanks for your visions and sharing them with us.You are a very gifted artist. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrow
Can you reboot without WS loading? If so,do not use it again. My last computer, rest it's soul, went down with WS halfway loading then freezing everything,,including Task Manager.Trapped in WinStyles-No escape.Same gos for DeskTopX.Take WS and DX with a full dosage of System Restore.
I'm sorry sonny86.I know that kind of trouble and it's no laughing matter.I hope you can get booted and back to Explorer. As I am sure you are to hear, LiteStep is not for NooBz.I am sorry Stardock makes it appear that way but nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is LS has brought down many.If you can recover be sure to set some System Restore dates for safety. The "Help" link on the LS page has never been functional.Much has been written on the WC site and Message Board but no one se
So sorry to hear your trouble sonny86.Go to the LiteSTEP page on WC and click the Help link.It should answer a few questions for you.
stark23x:Right on.After installing the latest WB version update thru the Component Manger I'm gettin kinda confused,,or should I say even more confused that usual. Now that it has been brought to my attention there are at least two places you might find WB skins, where will my system reach for them next? The SDC chosen file or the Component Managers chosen file.I think the issue of restoring earlier versions is being covered in the Stardock Central thread,I think.Sorry I didn't mean to hijack yer t
It failed,,FX unloaded. It did work for a few minutes though,,
Yep,I had that option checked. It is a fun program.I'm gonna run it till it fails!!Thanks again for the words and advice.
Thanks pipowell I'll defiantly give that a look see.I've been looking at the same drivers on the Nvidia site since December 3rd.I guess the fall-back mode is an option in the FX program itself?I guess I overlooked it.Going to see,,,,
Thanks yrag for your responses.I wish you well on your DX adventure.I followed a couple of threads of late about DX and you might be in for one heck of a LiteSTEP battle. As for FX,eye candy that drops all window content on restore,I guess I'll have to wait for another alpha or beta,,the vicious circle feeds on itself. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by
I wish I could run DX.I used to really like it.I installed some version of Winstyles just for fun and that wacked DX,Winstyles and any kind of regular reboot. The computer would halfway load then freeze, even the Task Manager. So I put those programs in the LiteSTEP/FX catagory. Thus lightening even further my ObjectDesktop options and load. Now with my new computer even the programs that are left that I can use are being delivered corrupt. What did you "play with" in FX to get it to work "Fine"? Just
Look at FX for instance,Is it still in development? It certainly does not work for me.And by the look of the FX choices at WC it's not working very well for anyone.Maybe we could edit the registry or re-install single DLL files that were forgotten in other failed updated programs.Sorry yarg,I'm losing faith. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrowser!
Indeed,WE are at fault. We are to blame.I have also installed other programs, released, that totally crashed my system. So it really is not a alpha beta issue.Too many irons in the fire if you ask me.
I think there was a short period of time when I would have agreed with you but when Stardock can not even deliver WindowsBlinds, their bread and butter, one has to wonder, never mind everything else.
Indeed,,The programs from Stardock I can use, with confidence,is getting smaller.I could go into details but it would take far to much typing. One step forward, four steps back.Very disappointing.
Oh yes,,I haven't been able to use FX ever.It drops all window content on refresh.I have a ton of RAM and Nvidia.FX should work for me,,but it doesn't.I guess I am starting to miss the simpler days.
yrag:I have seen both.Once when it said to "restart SDC" I clicked yes and it rebooted my computer. The refresh option sounds interesting but I,for now, want no more trouble. Thanks for your input though,I hope it helps someone.
