This explains a lot. One thing that strikes me is how cohesive all the artwork looks. I haven't seen that in many games. Everything looks like it belongs (except maybe the robotic Seraphim looking things, but I'll reserve judgement for the beta). Could you share what the rough polygon count of a Demigod is? If it's trimmed from a working model, what's the count before and after trimming for the game? How long does it take to build a demigod from concept to final art?

Lots of software these days implements sliding and fades when menus are opened or when screens are changed. It drives me nuts. Apple is one of the worst perpetrators. As anyone who has played Forged Alliance can attest, the flickering before you can interact with the main menu quickly grows tiresome. Even Warcraft III had an obnoxious main menu that took several seconds before you could click on anything. As GPG begins to work on the interface (I doubt much has been done yet), I hope they keep t
I'm starting to get more attached to the concept of Regulus, but we haven't seen anything of him other than concept art. I'll probably play both him and the fairy/bulbasaur.
It's doubtful.
Yes, I meant development of a file selection GUI. It's a fairly involved process. The dual-program solution isn't optimal, but it's more flexible and powerful than anything GPG could implement (playlists come to mind).
If you can play Supreme Commander then you can probably play Demigod. The video requirements should be about the same, while the CPU requirement should be slightly less. Performance is supposed to be significantly improved over Supreme Commander. Give the SupCom demo a try; if that works, you're good to go. What are your system specs?
I'll never complain about an extra feature, but I think development time is better spent elsewhere. The same thing can be mimiced by having a sound slider for background music and then running WinAmp or something in the background. The extra time needed to develop the GUI and such isn't worth it when the same thing is accomplished for 1% of the work.
Fairy is mine. Back off.
It's possible to run Windows on new Macs. You can start the computer then into either Windows or Mac OS. It's not Windows-within-mac, it's Windows exactly as if it were a standard PC, so it's not slow or laggy. How old is your computer?
XBox 360 maybe, if it does very well, but there's no chance it will be released for Mac. It is built on top of the Supreme Commander engine (DirectX), and the small Mac market wouldn't justify such an expensive port.

Oh. I was looking at the wrong time. Your post definitely wasn't up when I did mine. Slow forums :(.
Check the post times. I was first by 5 minutes.
No one else can use her. I called it. :)

The official Demigod site now says, "The All Father has vanished, creating an opening in the Pantheon." How does a god get up and vanish? Perhaps he will play a role in the campaign (or the Demigod equivalent there-of)?
It's tough to say. My favorite part of Supreme Commander is the intense 1v1 battles on smaller maps with the ACU as the central focus. Demigod seems like it could recreate that and then improve it by a magnitude. I'm also a huge fan of teamwork in other games (5v5 fights in WoW are actually very enjoyable), so Demigod was an obvious choice for me. How can you not love a game with angels, a giant walking castle, and a giant walking tree?
innociv, he said it's just an option, and it will not be used in ranked play.
[link="http://forums.demigodthegame.com/318945"]It seems like things have changed now:[/link]
Let me put it like this: Demigod is aiming to solve some of the most basic problems in on-line gaming: Because your Demigod gets better in a persistent universe, experienced players have an incentive to keep with their hero and its stats rather than "smurfing".

We're not looking at eliminating any multiplayer gaming options, the point here is that we will have add
My biggest gripe is I always end up not reading the original post. It's formatted differently than the replies and my eye just skips right over it.
A pseudopersistent universe is news to me. I take it you have some pretty nonstandard gameplay modes planned for Multiplayer then? It sounds interesting :). Is it possible for people to cheat the system and help their friend's Demigod grind its way up?
Assuming there will be custom maps and mods.
No one is hating on DotA, where hating on the fact that everyone assumes Demigod is DotA.
Demigod is not DotA. Demigod is not DotA. Demigod is not DotA. Demigod draws inspiration from many games. I'd rather see a reference to Supreme Commander or Dungeon Siege.
Champion is good. Gladiator works I guess. I don't see the problem with Assassin though.
